The front office staff stinks. Very unfriendly and dry. They don't say thank you now end 5he calls properly. Good help is so hard to find.

His front office staff is amazing but his practice as cardiology is the reason for the one star. I originally went to Dr. Ramirez after not liking my care with Dr. Gheewala. I am a 30 year old female but EKGs, Holter monitor, as well as an echocardiogram has caught my heart doing irregular activity. He and his staff (nurse practitioner) passed off my regards because "you are still young. " I finally had my follow up (to go over test results) about 4 months after the test just to be seen by a Nurse practitioner who in fact had none of my test results and to tell me to come back in 2 months. The appointment was pointless. Why would I return if you did not take my initial concern as something to look into. They did not receive my previous Cardiology work from the previous doctors, which showed my echo results. I guess I need to be old to be taken with some type of priority and concern.

Dr. Ramirez is a great cardiologist. He will sit and talk and discuss your health. One big problem though. His clerical staff really sucks. They don’t return phone calls. I called 4 times in a matter 10 days since you can’t talk to anyone they don’t call you back. It is really frustrating.

I had to have four or five tests done. My first test was in December 2018 and the final was in April 2019, with a follow-up with Dr Ramirez. He told me to “not stress about” the tests. They may be routine to him — but not to ME! His staff is great, although I was double-billed a couple of times. His “bedside manner” could use some (a lot) of work. If not for some great staff, this would be a 1-star review.

Dr. Santiago is a exceptionally well trained, Board Certified Cardiologist and Interventional Cardiologist. A large practice aided by a Nurse Practitioner and very good staff. His demeanor is very caring. He has a Nogales location in addition to the main office in Tucson on Ft. Lowell.
Many cardio and vascular tests are performed at his office by highly trained staff.

I have found that the staff in most cases are not hired by the doctor themselves. The doctor is just renting a space. I am very happy with Dr. Ramirez.

Just called to make an appointment and the girl that answered was so rude. I told her our TRICARE Ins didn’t need referrals and she mumbled “well Tricare always needs referrals so you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about”. I told her listen sweetheart, we’re reserve and trs is different than active duty. Definitely won’t get getting my business and I’ll make sure to report her.
