Southwest Veterinary Surgical Service, PC reviews
16Our dog required surgery to remove his anal glands. We were told that he should have an ultrasound to see if there were any masses in his lymph nodes and if so should be removed at the same time. We spent an extra 1000.00 to do so. The results were confirmed that there is something there, so we agreed to have that done too. After the surgery, they informed us that they cut open his abdomen rea and found nothing there. Basically he had never needed the additional surgery. To make matters worse, his stitches came undone the 2nd day and we had to bring to the emergency vet and pay for that and bring him back the next day to be put out under so they could stitch him back up and we were charged for that too even though they had not stitched him properly the first time. I will not be using them again
Had a very good experience with SVSS. They were very professional and provide quality post surgery support.
They were prompt with getting to us. Very thorough with information. They kept me up to date with surgery information.
I highly recommend them
This practice took good care of my GSD Sadie when she needed surgery. Sadie had personalized attention during her overnight stay with much appreciated telephone updates from staff. I received good communication from the vet during the consult, day of procedure, and follow up visit.
Our dog baby Blair has elbow dysplasia and received excellent care pre and post op. I'd recommend to anyone looking for excellent care and a hospital like environment. Blair is 7 weeks past surgery and seen great improvement.
Every person I have dealt during the surgery my dog needed has been, accurate, efficient, caring, helpful, and professional. Thank you! Dr. Steurer & Dr. Hall did a beautiful job & their support staff is amazing too!
DeeDee first was seen a year ago right after I adopted her at SVS and Dr Sullivan for a rare and difficult surgury.
There was a high chance of many complications and I'm thrilled to say at age 12 she is living her best life after so many years of neglect.
I'm so grateful for all the amazing care she continues to receive from Dr Sullivan and the whole team at SVS!
This is Ruthie. She had to have a liver biopsy this week and I have to give a shout out to the whole team at Gilbert's Southwest Veterinary Surgical Service. While the entire staff was amazing, a very special THANK YOU goes to Dr. Roberts for putting me at ease and answering my questions and not rushing me the day I dropped her off for her procedure. Thanks for sharing my love for Dalmatians (and all pets) and for taking care of my girl! (P. S. This photo of Ruthie is pre-surgery! We are observing all of the post-op rules of staying off the furniture!)
My cat needed emergency surgery. Unfortunately he didn't make it but the surgeons were so kind and amazing. No one ever wants to go through this but they made it bearable. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.
Wonderful service for our shepherd who had a TPLO done from consult to discharge. Knowledgeable, friendly and thorough.
Doctors and staff were very nice. They treated our cat with kindness. The costs are what we expected with inflation and for a specialist. No surprise. Our kitty is still recovery from surgery even though she has been released so time will tell if she heals as they say. 5 stars for now.
I brought my cat in because he needed a possibly life saving surgery.when the vet tech told me it would be like 10k in total, i was bawling i could barely talk and he just asked me when i want to schedule it.i said “so you’re telling me, it’s ten thousand dollars which i don’t have, and he may just die anyways? ” and he replied with “i’m just trying to understand your thought process here. ” i told him i wanted to go home, and he looked horrified that i wasn’t scheduling surgery.i LOVE my cat, more than anything he’s my soulmate, but i don’t have 10k, and there was no sympathy.i’m 21, work full time and in school.no 21 year old has 10k to drop out of nowhere.yeah don’t go to this place if you’re not pretty well off financially, honestly it just felt like all they cared about was the money.i’ll just spend the last couple weeks that i have with my boy.
I can’t speak highly enough of the doctors and staff. My dogs have a had a few surgeries there and I have been so pleased with their work. I attribute my dogs’ quick recoveries to the skill of the surgeons. My regular vet wouldn’t perform one surgery because it was in a sensitive area. I took my dog to SVSS and the surgeon had no concerns about the area and performed the surgery exquisitely with absolutely no issue. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly and the doctors are so talented and skillful. I am extremely grateful to them for keeping my dogs healthy. Here’s one of my dogs, Jade, who is a frequent flyer at SVSS!
Do not hesitate to take your fur babies to this facility they will help take the stress out of stressful situation. Our Kimber had to have TPLO surgery. This was the second time one of our babies had to have this surgery, but this experience has been completely different from the first that was done at a different facility. Kimber was kept overnight, we received texts and phone calls with updates after surgery, detailed discharge instructions that are more thorough than most humans, Kimber also has a client liaison and two follow up visits instead of just a suture removal. Fantastic care that cost less than the mediocre care that we received at the other surgical center.
I cannot say enough about the Southwest Veterinary Surgical Service in Gilbert. My German Shepherd Dog, Maggie Mae, had torn ACLs and miniscus on both of her back legs. It was a degenerative condition and she was limping and in such pain. TPLO surgery was recommended for her legs. Both surgeries went extremly well, and the recovery was hard in the first couple weeks but improvement and healing was good and consistent. The communication through it all was fantastic.
If I had questions, they were a phone call away. Everyone was so nice! The last 6 months have been a journey, with two separate surgeries 2 months apart for each back leg. Im not going to say it was easy, cause it wasnt, but the Doctors and staff were so responsive, truly cared for my girl and were very supportive, responsive and involved in the recovery for each of her surgeries.
My experience with them was fantastic and just today went to my last post-op appointment and Maggie Mae was given the green light to get back to normal activity. She is PAIN FREE!
I cant thank the surgeons, techs and front staff enough for loving my Maggie Mae as much as I do and giving her a quality of life again that she so deserves. I cannot say enough about them and the work they do.
I Highly, HIGHLY recommend this group of amazing Drs, techs, and staff at the Gilbert facility.
Thank you!
Katie & Maggie Mae
The team at Southwest is absolutely fantastic! My little guy Scruffy need a small surgery done on his knee and while I was nervous the staff made me feel much more assured in the procedure. They listened to my questions and took the absolute best care of my little man! He is back running and having the best time! Thank you!
