Our family has been attending St. Rose since 2002. This is truly a nice place of worship

I used to be a registered Parishioner at St. Rose, but left the Parish several years ago when I learned that funds were being mishandled, and Diocesan guidelines were not being followed. Father Bing, and both the Finance and Pastoral Councils were made aware, but allowed it to continue.

The Religious Education Department asked for donations from Parishioners, to pay for kids in the youth group to attend the Steubenville religious conference in California. However, what the RE Department intentionally did not disclose to Parishioners was that half of the donations were actually being collected to pay for a trip to Disneyland, in which one of the RE Coordinators brought her family, like it was an all-expense paid vacation.

Furthermore, the RE coordinators and their husbands got together with their friends each week to go out to dinner, movies, bowling, etc. They claimed it was for the Young Adult’s Ministry, however, there was no such ministry. All ministries must be approved by the Diocese and open to the Parish. They just wanted to go out with their friends without having to pay for it, and without having to pay for babysitters, so they made up a “trial Ministry” as they called it, just for their friends, and paid for it with church funds that were allocated for Religious Education. Then, since they used up those funds for personal outings, they charged parents and volunteers for actual RE program costs.

Both RE Coordinators were rarely in the office during scheduled business hours, which frustrated staff and parents. When the RE Coordinators finally did show up for work, they mostly just stood around the Parish office gossiping with two of their housewife friends, who volunteered for the RE program. The four of them were defiant toward the office manager, disrespectful toward office staff, and they interfered with employees’ work and then lied about it, trying to get employees fired. And they were successful; the turnover of staff was really high because of their constant bullying. One of them was hired to work in the office shortly after, so clearly their actions were calculated.

Father Bing and Father Noel also routinely ignored the after-hours emergency line, so multiple Parishioners died without receiving their Last Rites. The Deacon and Parish Accountant became so fed up with everything going on in the Parish Office, that they both resigned and left the church.

I would not recommend this Parish to anyone. I found most of the people there to be narcissistic, unethical, and self-righteous, instead of Catholic. They lost quite a few Parishioners, including office staff, who each had the same or similar experiences. I later found out that this church is referred to as The Evil Parish of Anthem.

Like much of the Phoenix area, a growing parish in a new area of town. Priest is welcoming, musician is talented and staff is very helpful to all.

St. Rose is probably one of the most welcoming churches I’ve ever been to.

The church is peaceful. And the employees at the office are always willing to help.

Just check the mass hours on the website. And if the church is closed, just go to the office and workers will let you in the church to pray.

Overall, this church equates community.

This is my home parish, and I just love my community here. Very warm, very welcoming, and a fantastic Covid-19 response with Masses live-streamed on YouTube!

Thank Father for today’s streamed mass. My soul needed it desperately. God is everywhere & I felt his presence more than I can say. Bless you & be safe.
