StoneMan Climbing Co. reviews
20My son and I did our first multi-pitch climb with Caleb 2 years ago, and we've been climbing ever since. On 2024 new year day, I brought my daughter to Phoenix, Neil lead us at Queen Creek Canyon, we enjoyed it so much, and decided right away to do another multi pitch climb at Camelback mountain Prying Monk route, with Neil as our guide again. We feel StoneMan provided more than a guided trip, it's a life changing experience. As someone who is over 50, used to be fear of height, StoneMan has turned me into a climbing addict. Now I am looking forward to climb in my 60s, 70s, and 80s, and climb everywhere I go in the world.
We were met by a wonderful guide and did some great climbing. The courses had options for beginning climbers and expert climbers, great first experience climbing outside!
We had a wonderful time on our trip! Aaron was absolutely fantastic. We can’t wait to go again
Sharing just a brief review of my family's experience w/ StoneMan Climbing. My daughter worked with Neil for a half-day recently and he was terrific. We had a great overall experience. We would definitely climb with him again!
Our family had the most amazing day with our guide, Neil, on our first-ever mountain climbing adventure! While we were originally a little unsure that all of us could do this, our guide’s instructions and encouragement helped us all be able to pull it off! Beyond this personal win, the views were outstanding and we were able to have time to take it all in as we went. We also appreciated the great depth of knowledge Neil had of the area, geology, climbing, science, and wildlife as we were on our adventure. He was the key piece to making our day so perfect…and he even supplied us some great pictures to prove it! We highly recommend!
Amazing rock climbing adventure perfectly tailored for your fitness level. I highly recommend!
Awesome experience! We had a great time and an excellent instructor. He taught us how to climb safely and helped us through several different climbs of varying difficulties. We would recommend giving this a try.
Highly, highly recommend! We got the pleasure of climbing with Aaron in Queen Creek Canyon. My girlfriend and I are from Nebraska so let’s just say we don’t climb outdoors hardly ever.
Aaron made contact with us a few days ahead of time on when and where to meet (he was 30 minutes early, as were we). He had knowledge of the area and what routes would be best for us and he chose well. We had an awesome time climbing The Trident. We climbed better than either of us could’ve imagined (thanks to our guide)
He was super thorough and very informative. We borrowed a couple of helmets and harnesses and they were in top notch condition. While he was too belaying for us he was also able to snap 130 pictures and a couple videos. Thank you so much StoneMan and Aaron!
Neil took me out today for my first outdoor climb and it was an extremely fun day. He put me on some good routes that were within my ability and gave me good advice on how to proceed with the difficult parts. Highly recommended!
Aaron was an amazing guide. I did a four hour climb at the Camelback Mountain, and in that span of time, we progressed based on my level and what I wanted to do. He was very good at assessing my abilities, was patient with coaching me through some of the more difficult routes, and making me feel safe about climbing. I had such a great time that I decided I would do a second day of climbing - this time at Queen Creek Canyon. Aaron accommodated my last-minute request for the second climbing trip, and I was so thankful we were able to make it happen. Queen Creek had a different terrain compared to Camelback, but again, Aaron did a great job of picking routes that would suite me. He also answered a lot of my questions, provided some tips on how I can climb better, and took great photos of the trip. I plan to visit AZ again in the near future, and would strongly consider another climbing trip with Stoneman Climbing! The tours are customized based on what you want, so you will have a great time especially if you communicate what it is you would like to get out of the trip. Highly recommended!
A friend and I went had Neil guide for us at Tom’s Thumb - it was a fantastic experience from beginning to end with the experience being curated to our experience. Highly recommend!
I had the best experience ever from beginning to end with my instructor Aaron. He contacted me prior to arrival welcoming me, letting me know what I needed and how to identify him upon arrival. When I arrived, he was easy to find and was very personable, I immediately felt comfortable. Aaron was great in walking me through what to expect, what each piece of equipment was for and how to use it. He was patient in teaching me the basics, there was no rush to get me up, down or through my session. This was my first time rock climbing and I’m so thankful to have had Aaron as my instructor.
I highly recommend Stoneman Climbing Co, if this is your first time climbing and most definitely ask for Aaron.
Booked a guide for me and two friends. Neil was awesome, felt very safe. He picked an area with a good variety of climbs and difficulties. Supportive, helpful, and patient. Couldn't have asked for a better experience to introduce my friends to outdoor climbing.
Neil was awesome! Very knowledgeable and just the right mindset you'd want in a guide for a beginner or advanced climber. Can't wait to go again.
Spent a half day with Neil, rad easy going guide - will hit them up next time I’m in the area
Did the 2 hour course this morning because I had never done it before and wasn't sure if it was for me. Aaron was my guide and he makes you feel as safe as possible the whole time. He's vocal and very patient as I kept having trouble with getting my knots right. We did 3 climbs and every time before I ascended he did a check to make sure everything was secure and in the right place. I'm just visiting so I don't know if I will be around to do it again but I highly encourage others to use this company if you want to try rock climbing.
Neil was an excellent guide for my climbing trip to Camelback. He was knowledgeable, conscientious, thorough and a lot of fun to hang out with. I whole heartedly recommend this experience.
A wonderful climbing experience. Neil was patient, encouraging and awesome! The 4 hours flew by and next time we will do a full day. Everything was top notch. Highly highly recommend!
Great experience with Aaron from StoneMan. Very knowledgable and was able to craft an awesome day that fit my goals.
Aaron took me and my family to the McDowell mountains and taught basic anchoring and lead climbing. Aaron was super cool and experienced. Taught safety first and made it super fun. We are adding him to our Christmas card list.
