Sunny's Diner reviews
19VERY good French toast. Friendly staff. Weekend mornings are busy-busy; weekdays are chill. The price is regular diner price. Reliable food quality and service.
Honestly, the food is just so so. My last, and final, visit I had a very dry and floury tasting serving of biscuits and gravy and a serving of the worst bacon I have ever had. Also, they do not serve hashbrowns.
It may have been our waiter’s first day on the job, but they did fantastic! High quality home fries and french toast
Good atmosphere. Distracted employees though. Forgot half our order but the food was amazing. Fresh Food, not frozen
The best breakfast in tempe. And I've been to all the other places. Sunny's Diner has better food, service and prices than all the top rated breakfast joints in the valley. 3 generations of my family eat there. We love the laid back vibe and casual atmosphere.
So I ordered food from this restaurant and after waiting almost an hour for my order it was canceled because the restaurant wouldn’t give my order to the driver. Apparently the food was ready but they didn’t have the drink ready and after waiting there for almost 20mins my driver asked for it once again and was met by a very rude manager who in turn did not like my drivers response to her anger so instead of being professional and giving him the food and letting him just leave they kept it…. Glad to see this place is being ran by someone who isn’t level headed and doesn’t care about the customer. Glad that for my only hour lunch break I didn’t get to eat my food or any food at that. Unprofessional restaurant, I will not be returning.
Nice place to have breakfast, food taste delicious and place is neat and clean with friendly staff.
Definitely the best breakfast so far in the area. Affordable big meals and drinks. Both the bloody Mary’s and the mimosa were generous and delicious. Hannah was a great waitress and was very attentive. Condiments on the table. HUGE menu it was very hard to decide. Good variety. We had one skillet and one egg breakfast. Clean cooking. The best biscuits I have had in a while. 10/10.
This is a family-owned diner that has been here for years. They have excellent food and service. The place is also well kept.
Sunny's diner is a better meal experience by far than Denny's.
As far as Tempe is concerned, this is THE breakfast place. Try the Irish Benedict or Biscuits & Gravy.the wait staff is great.
The only minus is Fox News is playing on the TVs but the food is so good I didn't care.
It's pretty bad when breakfast is here is worse than Dennys! Scary looking potatoes, yellowish green French toast, no butter on toast for egg and cold coffee. Too expensive anyways!
Most of the food was delicious but the potatoes were over cooked like breakfast mashed potatoes and a little dry. My English muffin was burnt like a hockey puck. It was replaced but why even serve that? They were nice there but not very friendly.
Food was REALLY good. Staff was very sweet, and service was FAST! Would recommend and will return!
Yummmmm.tucked in a little strip mall, passed by many times and finally came. Now kicking myself for passing by. Simple, affordable, delicious. Even what seems like a little rush hour and kinda seemed short staffed, only a 15min wait. Staff was very attentive and friendly even during that.
Don't be swayed by the rare low review on this place. Come here, give this place a chance.
One of my favorite places to sit down and eat breakfast. I travel around the country 14-21 days a month and this is always the place I come to the morning after I arrive! Highly recommend
Friendly service though pretty slow. The wait time is often long. Food is decent, portion sizes are big and good for the price.
This place has huge portions which is a plus, and a draw for some people. I like to focus on consistency. I usually come here for breakfast and would frequent more if the food was consistent. Sometimes the food is on point, hot and delicious. Other times the food lacks taste, comes out grey and lukewarm. I've even had times when the coffee is cold and flavorless. Attention to detail & getting food out when it's up, could have this place a little busier and probably seeing more foot traffic. This place feels like it could be a "breakfast go to", that close to ASU Campus and retail businesses.if more attention was paid to consistency. Mimic the "Cracked Egg"; which feels like a sister location, with the exact same menu. There are items on the menu that could definitely make it a signature breakfast spot (Chicken Fried Chicken, The biscuit Volcano, Pancho omelette, Breakfast Tacos, and anything with homemade chorizo), but they need to be featured AND consistent. If a cook isn't great at making the chorizo, have someone else make it, plain and simple. Taking pride in what goes out to customers is a huge part of the food business. Also waitstaff should be recommending favorites and specials, as well as unique items on the menu. Not just asking if you want a drink and are ready to order. Just needs a little TLC in some areas.
Side note: The lady at the front welcoming people is always sweet and a plus to the location.
Was hoping the gravy was better, But the place itself is pretty cute and the staff was very friendly
