Tara Thai Restaurant, Sedona AZ

If you’re someone who really enjoys Thai food, don’t eat here. I’m a big fan of Thai Cuisine and this was by far the most disappointing place I’ve been to. I’m only giving two stars because the kid that took and served our orders was nice and the owner I’m assuming came out to infer about our experience.

Although I couldn’t tell them the whole thing might need a revamp, that’s how I felt. I ordered the Yellow Curry and Pad See Ew, lemonade and Thai Iced Tea. The curry was very watered down and the flavor wasn’t as savory as expected. The Latter was nothing special either. Even the lemonade tasted like lemon water! Luckily, the Thai Iced tea was amazing, and was the only consistent thing I could see.

Maybe if you’re just hungry after a Sedona hike, or you cared less about the food quality, this would be fine.

I mean no harm from this, just an honest review. In fact my first ever review on a restaurant. If the owners are reading this, please work on the food quality. Try and match the genuine authenticity of Thai cuisine that I’m used to.

We have been to Sedona multiple times but this was the first time we had lunch at this restaurant. We ordered Veg Fried Rice and Yellow Curry. Both items were delicious.
We will definitely visit this restaurant again next time.

Ordered the pad thai, pad see ew, and pad kee mao. It was quite bland - definitely not sour, sweet and savory like it’s supposed to be.

I’m not sure what the other reviewers ate here, and maybe I went on a bad day, but I would totally not recommend going here.

I’m giving it two stars since the Thai Iced Tea was decent.

We went for dinner after an all day adventure in Sedona, and we're hungry We stop at this Thai place and this has got to be one of the worst places I have ever been to. I like Thai Basil here in Denver, CO. But this place is sick the waiter was just not there. They took a long time to take our order. The place was empty. My teriyaki chicken was not good at all. The satay chicken was dry! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

We have the tradition of going out to Thai every time we visit a new city. The restaurant has a regular look to it but the food is quite wonderful. The panang curry had good flavor and not too spicy. They were a full house tonight and it looks like they were down a waiter. We were extra nice. They work so hard for us.

Really good food from a family run restaurant. We got the appetizer sampler and everything tasted really good and the dipping sauces were excellent! It seemed that one of the chicken skewers was a tad on the not quite cooked side and so was not completely eaten. The coconut shrimp were tasty, the veggie rolls were some of the best I've had and everything else was really good.
I had the Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp and had it hot. It was good but the noodles seemed a tad overdone. The flavor however was spot on. My wife had the Thai Pasta with chicken and it was very good. She had hers medium hot and she liked it very much.
The inside is not large and seating can be limited to no more than 30 people but the service was good and friendly.
Overall, a great experience and wonderful food that satisfied our hunger completely. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some great Thai food near Sedona.

I ordered the pad king sod #32. While it had good broth, it was not enough to be full. The protein they add is wayyy too lite. The appetizers, i felt were super basic and not worth the money.
I still think this is worth a try but it is not the best value for your money.

The food was very tasty. Their spice level was just right as well. My friends and I stopped by here after doing a challenging hike in the area and could not have asked for better food. Their coconut ice cream is also very delicious!
