How have so never heard of this place till now!? ! It’s literally a little food oasis in this desert we all live in. Since coming here I’ve stopped shopping at Whole Foods, my New Years Resolution. They are always stocked to the brim of some of the finest gourmet foods I’ve ever encountered. There is also fresh fruit of varying kinds every week. Cherries and kiwis are my favorites. There’s always bananas, apples &oranges year round which goes great with my kid’s lunchbox for school. If you look closely, you’ll realize each singular piece of fruit has an official certified organic sticker on its skin. I asked if they were biodegradable and they said yes, in fact they only work with other non cruelty companies so there’s not a lot of name brand items. Instead it’s usually a local or imported brand. For example you’ll never see Dasani or Arrowhead on their shelves. Instead you’ll find Sedona mineral water and an always rotating assortment of reusable glass jugs of artisan water, no plastic labels, just a sticker bearing the name of the fresh water spring they source water from. I’ve found that the TDS level to never be more than 10, which are just trace minerals anyway. This is a luxury when you live in Tempe as tap water is low pressured and leaves behind this grey colored sludge on the surface of anything that comes into contact with it. Only Las Vegas, Nevada scores higher in terms of having the worst water quality assessment report in the nation. They’ll typically have a few varieties of apples. Fuji has been their mainstay week after week after month after Fortnite after full moon after season after equinox/solstice after calendar year. Their crisp sugary flesh has a delicate firmness setting it apart from your typical Red Delicious—the misnomer is a staple of k-5/6 American elementary schools. Every class room is required by law to have a Red Delicious Apple with a worm sticking out strategically placed at the right corner of the headmaster/tescher’s desk prior to the Monday morning bell. It must remain on the desk for the entire school week unless it is eaten by the teacher. They’re heavily encouraged to eat it though because by Friday the smell of the rot will begin affecting the olfactory glands of any Chinese or Japanese students. They get sent home early. That’s why I always recommend the Moms and gay Dads in my book club to equip their child’s backpack with the standard Crayola marker set as well as a pack of sniffable markers. They wont write or draw as well as the Crayolas but they make up for it in proprietary fragranced inks corresponding to their skin. FYI the mango scented marker is actually the green marker because even though the fruit is orange/amber its skin is green. I think the reason for this is so that the orange marker can smell like a Naval Orange. Btw for all you Floridian snow birds.these markers are not allowed to be sold in Florida & also Hawai and all the territories except for the military base on Guam. Florida has some of the most strictest rules for the shades and tints of oranges, clementines, tangerines, nectarines based on an old Gatorade bottle.they come in a box of 11 but they don’t specify which colors correspond to which fruits on the picture. Brown is dried date scent. I freak out when my baby comes home with bloody nose. It’s not. She loves smelling dem markers! Call poison control ASAP if they start eating the ink. DO NOT lookup their phone# on your iPhone, it’s already on your fridge door. You really have it experience this place yourself. I urge you to visit when open. Parking is never a problem especially with the newer oversized parking spaces they implemented meant for F350s and newer model Silverados. It makes filling up your trunk to its capacity a lot easier. Best part about this place? Everything is 100% free. F-R-E-E free. It’s basically a $0TREE so you know it’s going to attract the right kind of people. Do you have kids? BRING THEM! There is an onsite complementary micro daycare based and styled using Waldorf primary school principles with a small craft station.

They'll give you at least a bag of food in the mornings, more if you have a vehicle.

They're really nice folks who work there and they really do want to help everyone, as much as they possibly can.

The iHELP program is a blessing! - I've been in the position to use this service 3 times over many years and it was/is currently very helpful in keeping me off of the crazy scary Tempe streets. The director, James is okay and I really appreciate my case worker, Crystal!

Crystal is always on the ball and never judges members. She's very professional, yet amiable enough to help one feel better going through the intake process.

I first met Crystal about one year ago and she is still doing a great job there at TCAA, as well as going to the churches and making sure things are running well and everyone's as happy as possible.

THANKS &

Keep up the good work!

I don’t recommend the food boxes they give old and expired food. I’m sorry but I’m going to speak out because my tummy can’t handle old food. My kids ate but I still ain’t ate it. I’m currently starving till tomorrow when I get paid I can’t afford to be sick. Period but the good thing is they help Tempe residents with rent and electricity so that’s the upside of this place.
