The Barley Hound, Prescott AZ

Terrible Service couldn't get wasted here if you wanted to. 1 beer an hour speed out of these servers. Server was nice.cheerfully negligent. Waited 40 mins for a check

Edit: 5 years later. Still slow service, one waitress for entire outside. But this time we took a dog up and liked that they had a meal for dogs. When we got home wife looked at the account and we got charged 8 dollars more than what's on the receipt. My assumption having worked the food industry? The waitress took an extra $8 to make her tip an even $20. We left a message on the their phone, talked to a waitress who talked to the manager, said we'd get a call back.never did and called a third time with no response. These podunk locals prey on visitors not coming back to argue $8. Slow service and theft for mediocre food is not worth a return.

The food offerings are somewhat "eclectic. " We've been several times so that was expected. Our food was excellent.and has been in the past. The reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars is for the incredibly long time for our food to come out of the kitchen. Pickled Beet Salad, Cheeseburger, Kids Mac n Cheese. Same for the appetizers, excellent.but took quite awhile. This is not a "fast food joint" so we didn't expect a fast food kitchen experience.just a bit quicker. Server checked on us often. The photos are 'merica Burger, MacNCheese, Beet Salad.

The burger was decent. I ordered it medium well and got it well done soggy fries. The customer service was pretty good. The only thing I enjoyed was the outside patio and the weather. Pets are welcome. Probably wouldnt go back to try something else.

Went for lunch with friends today and as always receive excellent service. Anything we order is delicious and they always go out of their way to make you feel special.

The Mac and cheese is very good. The service was ok. They had lots of tables open but had to wait for a table. Once we we were done with the food we asked for to go box since I didn't finnish the pull pork sandwich nor did my boyfriend finnish his Merica burger. They said they didn't have one they can give us a bag. Buy we keeped seeing people leaving with Togo boxes. Also the waiter keeps trying to push us out by giving us the check when we were not finished drinking. Seem like she didn't want to give us an opportunity to order more drinks also.

Great little place south of the square. Limited menu, but big flavors. Huge patios for the pooches

One of my favorite places to eat in Prescott. Pet friendly patio is a huge bonus considering the limited dog friendly establishments in the area. Recommend reservations if you’re coming. Unless you’re the first ones there when they open. Aside from that the food is delicious you will not be disappointed.

Our reservations were made 2 weeks in advance for a group of 6 for Sunday (7.3.22) at around 1pm. Not knowing it was gonna be Sunday brunch with VERY limited menu. Website never mentioned brunch only…
• Greeting was very weak by hostess.
• The menu choice was limited and overpriced.
• Food was just ok. Nothing really popped with flavor.
• Charged extra $5 for gravy that should have been included in the breakfast burrito. First time I have ever paid $20 for a burrito…
• Waiter was very condescending and passively rude.
• In addition, we actually watched the hostess turn away lots of customers during published business hours while half the tables were empty…
• Will not go back.

So today was my second experience at Barley Hound. The first time I was a guest in the hotel next door and gave the pub a shout out in the hotel review. I've read lots of reviews for Barley Hound and after today's experience feel compelled to share. Both visits were stellar. The management and staff stood out as totally engaged in the operation. On both visits the food was beyond expectation, specifically a pickled beet salad with salmon the first time and a medium well Merica burger that was cooked to perfection (knowing that medium well is a death sentence in most kitchens but they did it). There was also a food allergy hiccup that they handled with grace and respect as it was completely my oversight. They were kind to my dog and to me, and to all the other dogs and customers near me. It's a comfortable, casual place with great food and music. That exceeds expectations in my world.

I wish I could write a review but we were never served. We were seated with our dog for about 15 minutes without anyone coming by. I had just finished a 19 mile run and was really looking forward to a beer and a burger. Two tables seated after us were served water and they just acted like we were invisible as they approached them passing us. We were at least in good company as a mother and her son were seated and never had anyone came by. They got up and left as we were. Step it up- I know everyone is short staffed but at least acknowledge people and let them know there’s a wait.

Special spot for you and your dog. Owner and staff make sure you feel like home. Food is great. Props, chef Tony and Queen Sarah.

The food we had here wasn't only different it was delicious! I have never had duck fat fries or burgers so I decided to give it a go, and was not disappointed. The server we had so kind and patient and knew their menu inside and out.she was also very attentive, which was quite nice.the service here is top notch and will be visiting again.

We live in Tucson and came to Prescott for my Birthday. We were looking for a nice relaxing place to have lunch and the Barley Hound sounded perfect. We were greeted promptly allowed to pick where we wanted to sit, indoor or out. We chose a nice outdoor booth. The temperature was in the 60s so it was gorgeous outside. They have a nice little drink selection so my girl ordered a beer and we split an appetizer. Duck fat fried French fries. Man were they delicious. They were covered in cheese and came with homemade ketchup and a delicious horse radish sauce. For entrees my girl got a beautiful beet salad with white and red beets. Spring greens, and cucumbers. Also were sprinkled in toasted walnuts. This salad was not only pretty to look at but full of flavor. I ordered a pot roast sandwich. The meat was super tender and not oily or greasy at all. Pot roast can tend to be oily and greasy because it's slow cooked in its own fat but this sandwich was on point. We only had 3 days in Prescott but I am looking forward to coming again and if you are ever there plz try the Barley Hound. You want be disappointed. Food, service, ambiance were all amazing.

Stunning food and better service finished off with the best Bread and Butter pudding ever tasted.

This is our second time eating here. Absolutely delicious! Great dog friendly patio. Friendly staff, and great service.

Fine dining experience.this is the great experience you are looking for. Walking into the restaurant.charming. Our bartender Derek.charming and attentive. I ordered a Bonsai Bonsai and she ordered the Trefethen Chardonnay. We ordered the Charred beets. Simply delicious with almonds and a Yuzu vinaigrette. For dinner we ordered the Bison Steak with Yams and the Norwegian Salmon with Couscous. For dessert, the Black Cocoa Cheesecake. I will be honest, I have not had this wonderful of a culinary experience In a long time. It should.be delicious. It should be fun. It should be elegant. It should be worth the value. The Black Goat made it all a reality, and I am proud to share.

So glad we were able to come back. The food and service was exceptional. Worth the trip from North Carolina.
