The Bird Cage Theatre reviews
19Did the ghost tour with the manger and his wife (sorry forgot the names) and it was awesome! I came a bit skeptical but after what I felt and pictured I left a little more convinced that there is something else out there. I’ll let my photos do the talking. (No, these are not reflections, we took multiple photos and this didn’t show in any other pics.)
The Ghost Tour at night was awesome. Filled with historical info that was not only interesting for me, but also my 8 year old son -which isn't an easy and kind of surprised me. Most authentic place in town with the most historically accurate artifacts. It was the highlight of our trip and truly felt like we were stepping back in time. At first it seemed kind of expensive ($25 per person) but it was well worth the price. This is a must see! *as is the Gun Show at Old Tombstone Western Theme Park.
The Birdcage is obviously one of a kind. The docent has a wonderful tale to tell before you buy your ticket. The theater itself is very interesting and of course they exit you through the gift shop. This is the same with every business in Tombstone.
Such a neat place with a weird energy to it. You can feel the history. We did the ghost tour and it was really informative and exciting. Highly recommend. If ghosts aren't your thing, you can do a self tour during normal business hours and see the place. It's a really special part of AZ's Wild West history. The employees are very knowledgeable.
This is a very cool tour to take.
Lots of history and the host had lot of great info to share.
The only down side is, I felt that they overbook the tour and we would've gotten more activity with a smaller group.
I would def recommend this tour to others.
Amazing place to hang out and take a guided tour. So much to look at and learn about. It's like going back in time to the late 1800's. Our tour guide was awesome and you could tell she loves her job! 1.5 hours and a great bargain for the history lesson. The amount of original artifacts is mind blowing. You could easily spend a day here and not see everything it has to offer. Very knowledgeable staff. Make sure you use the restroom before going on a tour as there are no public restrooms. It's said to be quite haunted and while we didn't experience much activity the kid had a great time and the lights out period of the tour was really cool! I highly recommend this if you are into history. Great value for the money and one of the coolest things we did while in Tombstone!
Took a bunch of girl scouts to the theatre for some ghost hunting. They had a blast, even the ones that weren't quite brave enough to stay for the lights out portion.
A very interesting and historical museum. Many fascinating things to see and learn about. You can do a self guided tour or wait for a guided tour. One of the few original buildings left in Tombstone.
When I visited the bird cage on 9/25/2021 the staff was extremely knowledgeable about the history there. My experience there was extraordinary!
Highly suggest you make a stop here! Historical building & get a tour $14 per adult. Money well spent if you are a tombstone enthusiast like me!
My absolute favorite place I went while in Tombstone. The history there was amazing. Two very good, well spoken actors start with a history of the bird cage theater. After they finish you may tour the theater at your own pace. There were the most amazing and authentic artifacts-bullet holes, "ladies rooms", gambling tables, bar, etc.
This place is so cool and worth every cent! I even captured a ghost on camera! Posted both shots I took back to back!
Super super cool and I highly recommend!
A very fun museum to visit in tombstone. Highly recommend to take the self guided tour past the entrance room. Make sure to see the old hearse and visit the gift shop in the back.
I loved the birdcage, if you come to tombstone, do not miss it! Its the coolest place in town. There are bullet holes all over, everything is original. If you can I recommend the ghost tour, it’s so fun, we heard some footsteps, and I even got my poncho pulled on unexplainably, it was spooky!
Pretty cool. The history that this place contains is fascinating. The pieces inside that have been collected and put on display are remarkable! The barrels in the basement are pretty creepy but very cool. The carriage is a great piece of history as well!
While the self guided tour is pricey, it’s the only place in tombstone that feels authentic. It’s overloaded with random pieces of 1800s history,
Not a bad show, if you like western lore. They produce 3-4 vignettes per show, with history and a bit of fiction and humor thrown in. To criticize, there could be some music or, as my husband put it, chorus girls, entertaining between acts. And the benches were a bit hard to sit on and high for my short frame. But those are nitpicks. The show, on the whole, was very entertaining.
The night adult tour was very fun and the guide gave a good history of the place and answered all questions. I have done this tour several times and the only drawback is, and it's not Bird Cage Theatre fault, there may be loud obnoxious/annoying people in the tour group. However, if everyone acts like adults the tour is very fun and can be scary for some people. I highly recommending this place while your stay in Tombstone.
Wow. That's all I can literally say when it comes to describing this place. There's no way you can capture the feeling I got once I stepped on into The Bird Cage Theatre unless you walk in for yourself.
