I have been there before the hotel was considered weed friendly. I had a great experience, my sister and I chilled and relax. Heads up, if you are 40 and up and dont want to chill with a younger crowd, then dont book this hotel. Plain and simple.

The place is very cool. Atmosphere is exciting and with the evening landscape, adorned by the multiple dim lights sets the mood. Jazz played live, restaurant seemed busy. The front desk greeted me and kindly checked me in. She explained the events going on and areas accessible to me. The parking seems to not accommodate both guests and attendees of the events, but over all not that bad. Rooms were clean and well equipped with accessories. I plan on returning and enjoying the comfortable quality this Clarendon has to offer.

The hotel was ok but I came there for my graduation weekend and accidentally left to jackets with some things like my graduation stole, nursing pin, and two belts hanging on them. When I realized it, it was the next day. I called and the people I talked to which included a manager, had a "o well" kind of attitude and just told me to go to some website and list my items and if they were found they would return them. I know for a fact that they were hanging in the closet in the room and yet they were not found? I really don't care about the clothes I just wanted my graduation items back. I guess someone now has some new items to wear and most likely my graduation items are in the trash because they had my name on them. Lesson learned, don't forget any nice items as they my not be returned to you!

The 4 star rating in sure got there sometime in the past. My experience with the hotel wasn't the best. I definitely expected just a little more. My tub was stained, and the ceiling on the wall were stained. The next question you may ask is did I ask for a room change, no I didn't. Here's why, I had called the hotel early approximately 4 times trying to get a early check in, I did not care about any additional fees they told me the hotel is really busy and rooms are full. So why bother trying to get a room change. The photos of the hotel online are beautiful but the rooms on the other hand lol no! The staff were good when I finally checked in but my experience overall was a no, sadly.

The Clarendon Hotel was, unfortunately, a letdown.

The pictures of this place are phenomenal. The reviews are mostly good (not to mention the 4-star rating). However, our stay here didn't live up to any of it.

The first thing we noticed was the damp, musty smell. Not great, but could be forgiven. Then, we realized that the AC unit barely worked, and the only way to control it was by the light switch on the ceiling! But even that could only turn it on or off.

The sheets felt scratchy, cheap, but clean (or seemed to be). The same CANNOT be said for the floor! Honestly, this was the tipping point. The carpet turned out feet black within minutes, and we had to pull out our "floor socks" to keep the gunk off the bed and ourselves.

Upon realizing this, we asked to switch rooms. The staff was friendly and gave us another room. BUT once we got to the new room (220), we checked the carpet, and it had the same problem. Then we also realized the AC didn't work at all and the bed was a downgrade from what we paid for. So we had to switch back to our original room (301). We told the staff that the same problems were in both rooms, but they did nothing to help, simply handed back the keys to our old room.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room smelled like rotten eggs because the sewage was backed up in the room below. Pool was frigid and the hot tub was barely Luke-warm. The rooftop bar was dirty and looked like it hasn't been cleaned in months. We were promised a room with a pullout bed and it didn't have it so we had to get cots. Staff was rude and the rooftop bar closed halfway into the day for a private event.

Nice TV and comfortable bed. Be prepared to budget for a $25/ night fee to help pay for free wifi and breakfast.

Had a really good time. Stopped in overnight before a flight out of town. Friendly staff, nice accommodations, maybe a little off the beaten path for some. Attached restaurant was decent.

This was hands down my worst hotel experience. I’ve stayed at motels that were nicer than this. The room we got was musty, and the floor was covered with a layer of dark soot that immediately got all over our feet. We ended up wearing sandals whenever we touched the ground and set towels down to mitigate the mess that was made by the soot. The AC was controlled by a switch and did not provide much air flow. The door was not flush with the frame, leaving a significant gap that left the deadbolt exposed and unsecured. We requested a new room, which we were given. However this room had the same dark soot on the ground and the AC was completely non-functional. Furthermore, the room was a downgrade in bed size from the one we had requested, so we switched back to our original room. The staff were very friendly, but that’s honestly the only positive thing I have to say about our stay here.

Wasn't to bad, could have been better. Water wasn't very hot coming out of faucet in the bathroom.

I would rate a 0. This place is a scam. These pictures are inaccurate. I feel so bad for people who come to this ‘resort’ expecting a beautiful room and end up in a room with no locks. The front desk worker was amazing. And shouldn’t have to deal with all the complaining. But people be careful!

I have stayed at this hotel in the past so I was surprised at how much TLC my room needed. I stay in room 207. My biggest complaint was there was minimal lighting in the bathroom. There was no light at the mirror or in the ceiling. The light in the bathroom was in the shower which did no good as I was trying to get ready. I was doing my hair and could hardly see what I was doing. I'm glad I did my makeup before I arrived or it would have been even worse. The black walls didn't help either. The bathroom sink wobbled, wasn't fully attached. The faucet didn't sit straight. It was turned off to the side and when I tried to turn it back where it should go, it just sprung back to the side. The faucet could be jiggled and was extremely loose. In the room itself, the plastic baseboard wasn't attached to the wall.about 3 feet of it.exposing a cut out square hole, showing inside the wall. The decorative picture on the wall, had a good size hole in it. I couldn't let in any sunshine from the window. There was no way to open the PAPER blinds. The other window's blinds couldn't be opened either. Like I said, I stayed here before and the room I had was fabulous but 207 was is a disaster.

I had such a great time at this hotel. It's really cute and colorful. The staff are all super friendly and chill, and offer snacks and drinks and anything else you might want or need. All I had to do was text them and they were very helpful. I arrived early on the day of check in and had a great time sitting by the pool and having lunch with friends at the restaurant. The front desk staff even let me check in 45 minutes early. My room was clean and cozy, the AC was great, and the shower had strong water pressure. I enjoyed relaxing in my room watching TV and getting ready for all the activities during my stay. I also enjoyed hanging by the pool, although it was too cold to go in past my legs (but it is November!). The hot tub was not heated all the way in the morning so I splashed around in that, and then when it heated up it was nice and relaxing. Also, if you realize you forgot to pack something it's within walking distance of a Safeway. Finally, I left my satin robe in the room and when I called the staff was very happy to help find it in their lost & found and help me arrange to have it picked up and mailed back to me.

HORRIBLE hotel. I don’t know how they keep the label of a 4 star hotel. Our room felt like a prison. There’s one tiny window in each room and they don’t make it brighter with more lamps. Everything was dirty, there was only 1 roll of toilet paper. This place has gone down hill. What kind of 4 star hotel doesn’t have breakfast? Their pool was out of service and disgusting. That would’ve nice to know when booking or we wouldn’t have stayed there. We will never return to this hotel.

Absolutely the best Boutique in all of Arizona. Also they're the only hotel in Phoenix metro area who is cannabis friendly and offers cannabis smoking rooms! Can't beat that! Period. Marriott Bonvoy really need to step their game up.

I got food poisoning from the restaurant here. I stayed up all night getting sick and eventually went to the ER. As a courtesy I went to the front desk to let them know what happened (in tears from the pain in my stomach and waiting for my sister to take me ER, mind you), and the person working—Aubrey—immediately told me to speak with the manager of the restaurant. Which, barely being able to walk and fighting crippling pain and nausea, was hard for me to do. Then when I came back I was told again to speak with the manager.

I wish I could have had…I don’t know…more care in that situation? It seemed like they were more concerned about passing the buck than displaying the slightest amount of empathy.

That, and the blinds were broken, a square of carpet was missing, and the bathtub was discolored in my room.

Kudos to Josh though, the night I got sick for bringing me a sprite and some ibuprofen.
