The Watermark at Morrison Ranch reviews
12 Let me first share that I take giving less than five stars very seriously. I know the potential harm it can do, but others who are considering this facility for a loved one with dementia need to be very cautious.
I gave one star for food and shelter. If you are considering this facility for a loved one with memory care issues, please ask management the following questions:
1) Is the watermark a secure and safe place for a confused loved one? What mechanisms are in place from preventing them walking right out the door and getting Lost?
As of January 2022 the doors to the memory care unit were unlocked, and had alarms that were easily disabled. Our loved one wandered and was found at the shopping plaza nearby at a restaurant by concerned staff. It took 30 minutes before we received a phone call based on the time the police were called, according to their report. The staff was dishonest about this and in the 3 months our loved one was there, he easily left two more times. This is not what you want for a dementia patient who doesn’t understand where they are from one minute to the next whether they are at home or in assisted living.
2.) Do you want your loved one with memory issues to be showered, and have dental hygiene as well as new clothes everyday? Our loved one was only helped with changing clothes upon our prompting. Toothbrush? Not used. It was still as we had packed it three months prior and his sheets were never washed.
3. Is the staff qualified for memory care? Dementia care requires special training in de-escalation and many other things specific to the disease. We found that while the nursing staff was friendly, they were unequipped to care for our very confused loved one.
Please do your due-diligence around the Watermark if you have a loved one with memory issues. Constantly worrying about them easily exiting through an unlocked door and getting lost outside the facility is a nightmare.
I gave 5 stars
I lived in this neighborhood many years very nice place! There are a lot of good people there. The residents are really what make this place! There are a lot of talented and kind people that live there. Wishing best of luck for Watermark at Morrison Ranch in 2023
The previous management of this facility was exceptional. When Watermark took over in early 2022 I sat in on their presentation and heard their promises that the same level of services would be provided. The previous management, Quail Park, was wonderful as you can read in previous reviews posted last year.
Recently my mother-in-law, who was a resident, passed - mid July 2022. There is a substantial refund due to her estate of prepaid, unused, rent and I have been given the run around for two months. Promises to pay have come and gone. It's unfortunate that this new management team, WATERMARK, has degraded the good services and business practices that the residents and families had been accustom to.
It's really gone downhill since Watermark took over. Understaffed, disorganized, especially the memory care section. Such a shame as it used to be great.
Having our loved ones at Quail Park is such a blessing! We know they are well cared for and engaged in creative activities. We look forward to being able to visit from Texas in 2021. Bruce & Debbie Biehler
Quail Park has been a great place for my Mom. They have tons of activities, they keep the place spotless and work hard to keep current for all their residents and truly make this home
Beautiful grounds and facility! Staff is highly engaged and keeps the quality of life at the forefront of their residents and my grandma.
My 94 YO Dad decided he was ready to move from his house where he lived on his own. After looking at several communities, we selected Quail Park at Morrison Ranch. Compared to others Quail Park rose to the top of my list.
The community is beautiful, has great amenities, activities and superb food. Also, Quail Park offers a full range of care, so once he needs it, he'll get the care he needs.
The staff are very professional, backed by a corporate structure that gives them support - especially during the pandemic they have clearly communicated policies and procedures to everyone in a timely fashion. They are doing everything humanly possible to keep the residents and staff healthy and safe.
The staff are not only professional, but culture of the entire community is like a big family. This feeling is fostered by a caring staff.
As a daughter who cares about her Dad I couldn't be happier that my father is living at Quail Park-it gives me the peace of mind I need-plus my Dad really likes it!
It's been a year now since he moved in. No regrets.
It's a win-win.
Transitioning my grandmother into assisted living was a bit scary for my family and for her, but Quail Park quickly eased our nerves with their genuine interest in the wellbeing of their residents. The facility is stunning and her room overlooks the lake outside. They constantly have fun activities that everyone seems to enjoy. She has made so many friends and she speaks very highly of her caregivers. We are so happy that we chose Quail Park!
Mom was unsure about going to an assisted living facility. We were all nervous about it but knew it would be the safest place for her. Mom’s good friend was at Quail Park too. That’s how we heard about it.
The entire staff at Quail Park is wonderful, and it’s so nice to see that the staff knows all the residents by
name.
Since mom has been there her life has changed! She’s so much happier now, no more boring days sitting on the couch and watching TV.
Quail Park gives you a reason to get up and out of room and meet people. The facilities there was great.
We’re so fortunate to have found this place!
Thank you to the staff at Quail Park!
Having a family member at Quail Park is very comforting. Their needs are met by friendly staff. The food is resort style with service to match. Friends of mine also have family members at Quail Park. We all love the activities and interaction our loved ones receive.
Appalling. Your love one deserves better. I know this sound intense and perhaps not realistic but we are very caring people who have to let you know about this. My mother in law fell three days ago and broke her hip and we just found out. Nobody from the facility called us. We certainly would get a call if we didn’t pay moms monthly care bill. Nope - nada - no phone call regarding her horrific fall. Quite alarming. My wife and I are young In our 40’s and we cannot recommend this facility under any circumstances. If I was you, I’d look elsewhere because our experience is the norm. There are many more superior caring choices. We received nothing but double talk from their Executive Director Julie and don’t waste your time with Heather because patients and love ones are beneath her time. Isn’t their job to communicate a serious event like intense fall?
Their PR department skips the most important part (nobody called) - chemistry or not only the PR department cares but the local individuals who are in charge of Mom’s care are quite appalling careless because they feel no need to communicate - a simple phone call to report a critical fall isn’t in the play book? We pay this facility $7300.00 per month faithfully to get top notch care - again I urge you to see this experience and look elsewhere.
