Therapy Tree, Gilbert AZ

My son has been going to therapy tree for over a year now, So far the therapists he’s had are amazing and he loves it. The only issue I’ve come across since coming here is finding appointments. He was in a weekly schedule but since his therapist left it’s been hard to get back in.

I really wanted to like this place but several things have rubbed me the wrong way.
First, it’s extremely difficult to schedule an initial speech therapy appt. The front desk isn’t able to schedule appts so they transfer you to the “referral department” who NEVER answers their phone and NEVER calls back. I had left 4 voicemails in 1.5 weeks even though their VM says they’ll call back within 24 hours. After calling the front desk every single day telling them I’ve left 4 VM with no call back the front desk lady finally scheduled my sons initial appt (after 4 weeks of trying).
My son had his first 2 speech therapy sessions this week and I was less than impressed. The lady didn’t tell us her name/ introduce herself and didn’t explain what she would be doing in the session. In the 30 min sessions all she did was play toys with my son. She didn’t work on sounds, words or anything. I do a better job at home working with him.
Considering they are charging me $110 per 30 min.session (after insurance), I called to switch therapists and the front desk lady had the audacity to tell me that it’s MY responsibility to tell the therapist what I expect out of the session. She told me that I need to tell what I want to work with them and that I need to tell the therapist what i want his goals to be… Excuse me? !
I’m going to be giving the new therapist a shot but if they’re like the first person I am pulling my son out and going elsewhere.

It’s been impossible to schedule my son his initial appointment even though his pediatricians referral was received. There’s no issue in getting through to the front desk but for some reason they aren’t able to schedule appts. The referral department they transfer me to never answers their phone and doesn’t return voicemails. I’ve left 3 voicemails and submitted 3 online request forms but still no call back.

Our 3.5 year old son had a few months of speech therapy here. The people are friendly but thats about all I have been satisfied with. His goals were way too high. As an educator, I get that they are *goals*, but still they were set too high. Each week the therapist would question why he had such goals and every week I was told they couldn't change it. This was frustrating beyond what was necessary, because they couldnt give us the same therapist- ever, nor did they seem to keep notes in his file so the next could know where he was at or what he needed. With only a 20-25 minute session per week, starting over EACH time was a HUGE waste of time. The facility/office is a big gym with all kinds of therapies happening at once in the same room, it's loud- totally distracting for some. We decided we are going to take our son somewhere else for therapy. When I tried to cancel all future appointments they continued to call me weekly, for about a month, for reminders of upcoming appointments. Each time I had to call and cancel again. This place just seems like a hot mess.

The people who actually help are amazing but the ladies who sit at the front desk are horrible. The 1st time I walked in the lady gave me the wrong time because my son had the same name as someone else and I even showed her a text confirming what time I had to be there and she still argued with me. And today I was on a call and when I walked in normally my son will walk out but today they yelled his name and I thought they were talking to someone else but the front desk lady was yelling at me. They didn’t say hello or anything just yell
his name and then when I looked at them they go “you can go inside”. Which how would I know I can just walk right to the back? And then when I tried to open the door it was locked. Idk but the 2 ladies who sit on their all day need a fat attitude change

Love this place and so does my daughter. I thought I had an appointment when I didn't but they still squeezed me in! Absolutely awesome definitely recommend this place. Very friendly staff.

Worst place ever! Beware they will try and change you 3x the amount quoted by your insurance company and say that your insurance company doesn't know what they are talking about. They are a scam.
