I've been going to Thunderbird Internal Medicine for close to 25 years. Never had any issues. Was always informed if doctor was running behind. Staff was extremely helpful. Ever since they became Summit Medical Group they have gone downhill. Today was the worse. Sad to say but seriously considering finding someplace else for the family. No one should have to wait an hour, with a fragile family member, to see the doctor without an explanation of how far the doctor is running behind (asked three times with no response). Then to watch staff standing around shooting the breeze on top of it. So unprofessional. Love the doctors but cannot sit in a waiting room forever especially with the virus situation. Hope my loved one didn't catch anything while we waited so long. (Rescheduled the appointment after 75 minutes sitting there with no explanation).

I was referred to this clinic by a dr that works for them. I tried to make an appointment first in june of 2019. They couldn't get me in until jan. 2020. I ended up canceling that appointment because I no longer needed to see a doctor regarding the issues I was having. Now come feb. 2020 I'm having medical issues but they are more urgent and they cant schedule me in until Sept. 2020. Any dr office that waits 7 months to schedule an appointment shouldn't be in business.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Carpenter’s for many years and he is wonderful! However, after Thunderbird Internal Medicine changed to Summit Medical Group it went downhill fast! It doesn’t matter how great the doctor is, if you can’t get through on the phone or schedule an appointment. It has been so frustrating that I am seriously considering looking for a new doctor. After fifteen plus years the thought of changing is very upsetting to me. Let me be clear about the medical staff.they are super in every way. I keep hoping Summit will get their act together.

NO NO NO! Completely driven by insurance money! My 18 year old, newly diabetic daughter, was called and told they (Dr. Angela Felix) would no longer see her or fill her medications because she missed ONE scheduled appointment due to an unexpected trip out of town. She was consistent with having her labs drawn, taking her meds and sending in her blood sugar logs via the portal (she is away at school/ college and would see the doctor when she was home for breaks). She ended up going to Urgent Care to get her medications refilled while she looks for another primary care. This used to be a great practice, but since becoming Summit, it has completely changed from being patient centered to insurance payment and referral payment driven. If you are being seen for anything, they will find a specialist to refer you to so they can get the money for referring you out AND seeing you in the office. Even if it is something any good primary care internal med doc should be able to manage.

First, I’d like to say getting an appt was an issue. However, I was able to see the NP for an acute issue and the see Dr Wetherell today for my annual visit/new pt establishing care appt. The ma was excellent and so was Dr Wetherell! She’s very thorough and spent adequate time w me. I don’t know about the other Drs but I really liked Dr Wetherell and her MA. If you are looking for a new Dr she’s the one! I’m a picky person too!

Dr. Doan has taken care of me for at least 16 yrs. She is kind.caring and very smart. Her P. A.s are wonderful also. I have sent many friends to her as well as my daughter. She is thorough to the point of calling me on occasion to explain something or has her new assistant Abby call. She is very proactive.if I need a referral stat.i have it that day.wonderful team. I don't understand some of these awful reviews.office staff great also.

I have been a patient at this facility for 13 years. Dr. Carpenter and his staff have always provided exceptional patient care. In my experience the wait times are low. My doctor has never rushed my visits, and always answered any questions. I highly recommend this group.

Good luck getting an appointment if your a new patient. I did all my research and chose 3 doctors and not one of them has an opening til may or September depending on which one you choose. I called my insurance company to have them removed from the website as accepting new patients

I have gone to Dr. Warfield for 21 years. I personally think he's the best. Treated me through 2 different cancers successfully. One of the cancers he helped find from blood work done on my yearly physical. I will never go any where else, unless he leaves.

Nearly impossible to get a hold of anyone by phone or patient portal since they became Summit. Been going here for years, now I am disappointed.

The staff is unable to get a physician signature in any timely manner and when asked why only attitude is received over the phone. Anyone looking for a provider AVOID THIS PLACE

I work for Banner Health and this company had worked hard to integrate with our patients. Flexibility is key; and Thunderbird has often saved the day.

I had a literal 5 second follow up appointment today with Dr Tassone who is a good doctor. This was for an ingrown toenail that he had removed a few weeks ago. The Thunderbird office charged me a full copay and will be charging my insurance for the full amount! When I told the office staff that I've never been charged by a doctor's office before for a follow-up she quipped that all visits with a doctor requires full payment. Unbelievable!

Seems nice, they really move people through here fast, with that though less time getting to know their patients on a personal business.

I've been a patient here for 2 1/2 years and have never had any problems. I see Dr. Brandstetter. She has a very caring demeanor, she listens to me and she answers all my questions. I've never had any problems with the office staff. I use the patient portal and always receive a response either on the portal or by a phone call. I've recommended that my family and friends come here.

If you like to have your money gouged from you, GO HERE! I have apparently been billed for months, which is untrue, so they are sending me to collections. Additionally, you’ll spend $200 to sit in a room for 5 minutes and an extra $20 for him to read a piece of paper and ignore your paperwork for months. Do not go here, their main goal is your money, not your health!

I have gone to this office for 5+years and think office staff are nice and helpful. My doctor, Dr. Gebeyehu, is wonderful. I'm glad she is my primary doctor and trust what she says and she takes her time with me. Can't ask for a better doctor.

I have been a patient of the practice for several years, I see Dr. Darry Johnson and Dr. Taber. I called today to get in as a sick patient and had to see Sharon Agulair. Sharon was very good however her MA Jennifer was extremely rude. I went in and Sharon, the PA thought there were several issues going on, fine they run blood, urine, strep culture and flu culture and all comes back fine. I was a little set off that they ran all these tests and Sharon was not even able to come in and talk to me about any of the results and how she wanted to proceed with action, that I had to be told by Jennifer that I didm't have a UTI. I was told that I needed a CT of my appendix but was not told when or where. Also when I inquired about medications for Upper respiratory infection/sinus infection I was told that you don't take antibiotics for that. I manage a very successful Dental practice and I am floored at how I was treated as a patient today. I called and spoke with the back office management as was told she would give me a call right back that she wanted to get to the bottom of this, well that didn't happen, I got a call from RUDE Jennifer needless to say that did not go over well. None of my issues were rectified today but my copay was sure collected! I think it may be time to look for a new primary care physician since I an just a number to this practice.

I saw every doctor they referred, followed every treatment, took all the prescriptions and suffered deeply while they let my health decline. Instead of recommending leave from work, they said "[take this drug] and try not to get pulled over going to work because [it's illegal to drive while taking it]". I also work with heavy machinery. Less paperwork for them I guess. Just shameful. They were friendly though!

Dr Metelits has been my PCP for over 33 years. We "grew up" together. He is an amazing physcian. I am not a complicated patient, but after I wait my turn he spends so much quality time with me. I cant imagine another physcian. I thank him and his Assistant Debra every time I get to see him. So amazing.
