Tucson VA Medical Center reviews
15I had a surgery for a back core stimulator implant. 7in down my spine another 6in above my right hip. Everything was fine until they said I would not receive any pain medication after my surgery? What is wrong with the VA? I could not go through the surgery without pain medication so I am still waiting
I have 3 stars because of the eye clinic. They were laughing loudly and joking like they where in the lunchroom or something. Taking about other employees. Very unprofessional.
Ive been on the medical field for over 10 years.
Everything else was and is awesome.
Thank you for the great service with everything else.
Eye clinic just needs some professional.
Thank you again.
I was calling in behalf of my husband who is a 100%Service Connected Veteran. He was seen in Audiology on 2/03/22 in order to have hearing checked and to obtain new hearing aids. He was informed his new hearing aids would arrive in 6weeks. That time has passed and he called over a week ago to find out the status because he cannot hear. He was told someone would call him. A week has passed with no contact. I have attempted to call and only get voicemails with no return contact.
This is an inadequate poor system and clearly does not demonstrate patient first. If hearing aids were actually ordered there should of been contact with him to inform him the date they were ordered, tracking number and how they would arrive and the company. It is unconscionable the unprofessional behavior of this hospital's personnel toward its veterans.
Trying to do too much with insufficient resources to do anything?
I went through a mental health crisis and reached out, sending secure messages, emails, and/or leaving voicemails for:
The Suicide Prevention Coordinator,
The VA Community Mental Health Point of Contact,
Two different patient advocates.
That was on Monday 5/9. As of today 5/12 I have not heard back from any one of them. Not one!
I've got nothing good to say about Tucson's mental health services or their communication skills in general.
Fail.
Shut it down. Put us all in a Veteran's Choice Program. And let us take our chances in the community.
Nutrition is abysmal. If you’re needing to stay in this hospital for any extended amount of time, have food brought to you or delivery. The food is overall non nutritious, kitchen consistently messes up orders and the overall calorie count I experienced was 1400 combined calories and less.
I would like to thank "Rain" at the front desk at the eye clinic. Thank you for being so kind and helpful! Keep up the good work.
Excellent customer service from Dr. Zillweger and student intern, Mackenzie, at the Podiatry clinic yesterday. Prompt, efficient and very helpful. Highly recommend.
Can’t tell you how many times the Va glued me back together—and most of all thank you for your professionalism, care and support.
The world of the VETERAN would be a “living hell, ” without you and your contribution to America!
Every time I've been admitted for care, the Doctors and Staff have been caring and showed that they were committed to taking care of any and all Veterans under thier care. Many cudos to all and THANKS.
I am disappointed with the VA in Tucson. It seems to be going g downhill in patient care. I called orthopidics clinic for an appointment. I was on hold for 44 minutes. Then a recording came on and said they were having a system failure. What l think was happening is all those people were sitting around waiting to go home for the day. This hospital needs to be restructured administratively. I am going to get a hold of a Congressman. Everyone needs to voice there problems. I hear many patients complaining when l am dlown there. The director needs to be se native to Vets needs somehow. The public needs to know what is happening. I have been a patient for a long time and never experienced this pfoblems so bad before.
I have had only positive experiences with the men and women at the Tucson VA. From the audiology department with Dr. McKinney to the vascular department with Dr. Taylor and everybody in between.
Thank you one and all for you caring.
Waited 3 months for an appointment. Got a call 10 minutes before my appointment to notify me that the doctor called in sick and now I need to wait another month.
UPDATE: Came in for my rescheduled appointment and the Doctor called out AGAIN and didn't think it was necessary to tell me until I got here. To make things worse, this is a mental health appointment. Veterans, please go somewhere else if you have the option. This place will only make you feel worse and delay the help you need.
Calling VA is it a waste of time. By the time they get you in for an appointment you’ve either died or no longer have the condition. Thanks for nothing
After the horrible, hateful treatment us disabled vets got at the Northern Arizona Veterans healthcare fiasco, that place is a national disgrace. I told them up there to eat my shorts and drove 272 miles to Tucson and I'm so glad I did. The Acacia clinic and that whole facility put me in a state of shock from their highly respectful and professional ways. My God guys, I stood their with my mouth hanging open when they hooked me up with two appts on my FIRST DAY and after my nightmare experiences up north I wasn't ready for good treatment because up north they beat you down and in Tucson they lift you up. Anyway, I got two appts.in the first day and the staff were not only highly professional but very pleasant. JILL really hooked a brother up and even though she was very busy, she always called me back and set me up with Community Care appts. I cannot say enough good things about all of them. N. Az.can rot as far as I'm concerned.
I got the wrong medication sent to me, I've been out and waiting for my medication which they wouldn't let me come and get, when I call, I get the run around, this medical care is sub par, and the staff and automated voice service sucks
