Valleywise Health Emergency Department - Maryvale, Phoenix AZ

I brought my son in for severe back pain we sat and waited hours while on the our side of the curtain the nurses talked and giggled about food from the cafeteria and engagement rings. Not one of them came to check on us nor did a Dr come in the hospital was slow not even busy. My son asks how much longer till they come and I have no answer People come the hospital because they are sick injured in pain etc. They expect to be seen in a reasonable time frame treated with kindness compassion and respect looking at previous reviews as I sit here still waiting I can't help but write yet another bad review and wonder what management will do and when they will do what is needed to make this facility worthy of being called a hospital.

I literally had to get up and walk out of the emergency room after seeing the nurse checkin two people that came after me like I wasn’t sick or something it wasn’t hard to see and for her to check in people that came after after sitting there longer than them I walked out because that just lets me know they don’t care about their patients went to the er down the street and was checkin right away so I see why the problem was

The doctors here will see that you have health insurance and still prescribe an over the counter medication even after you told them which specific medication has helped you in the past. I called twice to rectify that only to be told that I’d have to be seen again in the office. Making big pharma rich instead of helping your patients get better is not the way to go! I really thought they’d do better but no! Very disappointed honestly! My primary doctor doesn’t work on weekends, I told Dr Levi Filler which medication my primary always prescribes that works and he proceeded to prescribe an otc medication that burns every time I use it and the nurse says the Dr can’t change it unless I’m seen again? Why would I come back if you couldn’t even help me the first time you had a chance to do so? Wasting my time and energy i would have used to get help elsewhere.

This emergency room is the worst. I came in complaining of my throat being very sore, fever, chest pains, having the chills, back pain and a massive headache. They did a covid, flu and strep test and told me they were all negative which was false. I definitely had strep and had to suffer 3 days with the pain cause I trusted what they told me and just tried to ride it out (as they told me). I was told I had a non bacterial virus that kids are passing to adults and was given Tylenol and ibuprofen for my fever and pain. When I called today to let them know I was misdiagnosed I was told by Amber the supervisor "that's why we tell you to follow up with your primary care doctor; no apology, sympathy nothing and had the nerve to had an attitude. I work with kids and could have passed this to them cause they just rush people out and not do their job which is horrible. I wouldn't recommend this place to NO ONE!

Waited 4 hours to be seen. Then the ER didn’t send the prescription to the pharmacy so now I would have to wait 3 days for the pharmacy to receive them. No accountability from the ER staff, they said it’s your medicine you call around you fix it. No empathy. No remorse. Not even an apology. If you think you’re need emergency medical attention, you’re better off dying than coming here.

Super fast and friendly honestly I was pretty impressed. I had a really bad ear ache so you can imagine how unhappy i was to be there. My visit was less than one hour. I would recommend to anyone thank you again

Took a family member here recently and found the staff to be top notch! Although the emergency required a middle of the night visit, the facility was clean, masks were required, and staff were caring and personable, treating all patients with respect.

And the best part was that we were in and out in no time flat! Will definitely consider this ER for future needs.

All the staff was amazing! Very attentive and helpful. They took me in very quick, I probably sat down in waiting for like 10-15minutes tops. The doctor was very informative and ran all the tests needed to make sure nothing got missed before I was out. Very great experience.

Very competent and professional nurses. Excellent doctors. I'd recommend them over any other hospital in Phoenix.
