Vela on Camelback reviews
7 As a resident at Vela (Formally Alta) since April 2019 I’ve seen the various changes over that time. It had a great start when I joined under Alta, the initial change of management when it became Vela, standards dropped off. Lots of broken things left unfixed, and a feeling that no one really cared about the tenants. This was exacerbated during the covid pandemic and I was very much considering leaving.
Then Bernadette joined the team as new manager for what I think has been a year now. She really and passionately took an interest in rebuilding the community spirit, getting things working again, and generally really was clearly working hard to make it great again. She, along with her team, has and continues to turn things around and make it a great place to stay. I’m very happy to give a 5 star review.
I don't live here but I visited the property and it's absolutely gorgeous! I'm currently trying to get an apartment here.
The staff his ed an excellent paint and wine event. Sean, the artist, was awesome. It was a terrific event.
If we could leave ZERO stars we would!
The embarrassingly incompetent and ILLITERATE office staff, the DISGUSTING dog area, the ridiculous residents that litter (INSIDE AND OUT), the residents that refuse to pick up after their animals, and non-existent housekeeping. Someone broke a glass partition that shut down the pool for weeks and now there's just a piece of wood used as a barricade.
For the amount of money they're charging, we should have moved to an area where we feel SAFE and CLEAN. We just want the property manager to leave their little office and walk around. There's no way the owners think this place is managed appropriately. HIRE MORE STAFF that actually wants to work.
One star because our overpriced apartment is pretty quiet. But SERIOUSLY DON'T MOVE HERE.
Also beware: some apartments are short-term rentals/Airbnbs.
I only saw the lobby, but there is a very nice selection of tables and chairs for many different occasions.
Lived there a year and there was no way I was going to renew my lease. The management was incompetent. I was there only a year but I noticed a high turn over with staff. Simple questions weren't answered, emails ignored, and the whole experience felt slimy.
Additionally, there are a lot of scary residents. They would be partying in the pool area at 1am and I wasn't about to ask them to be quiet because I feared for my safety. On site security is a joke.
Apartment was okay but I could hear my upstairs neighbors doing their jazzercise everyday.
