He operated on my herniated l4-l5 disc.
He did a great job explaining what he was going to do and what to expect in the way of post op experience/healing time. But what I truly appreciated was he did not give me any false hope. So far I'm pain free and aside from my left foot's toes being a bit numb I'm back to my normal self. Considering how much pain I was in prior to the surgery I could not ask for anything more. Thank you!

I cannot praise Dr. Kumar enough for the excellent care he gave this 82 yr old lady! After breaking my C1 & C2 vertebrae, I recovered with only a slight limitation in my side movement of my neck. I understand this is a near miracle considering my age and the “hangman’s break” to my neck! Thank you Dr. Kumar! I constantly sing your praises!

Having known severe pain for the last several years, Dr. Kumar's surgical expertise has alleviated all my sciatic pain. He is extremely knowledgeable, takes time to answer any and all questions, and has a super-efficient front office. You only get one back, so your choice of a neurosurgeon is paramount! Dr. Kumar is the one and only doctor I will trust with the care of my back!

Rude, waited well over an hour while he chatted with another patient, then gave us 8 minutes. Wouldn’t go back, ever.

Dr Kumar and all of his staff has been so good with me. I have spinal stenosis and Myelopathy. I wasn't doing very well when I went in for my first visit with him. He spent his time doing test and explaining things as he went along. I ended up needing anterior cervical discectomies with arthrodesis and plating on 3 of my disc. I was able to get in and have my surgery done within a week and a half after seeing him. My surgery took over 3 hours and afterwards he went out and spoke with my husband, he explained everything to him and answered his questions as well. It's been 2 weeks now and I just had my follow up appointment today. Dr Kumar had an emergency surgery this morning so he wasn't in the office. However I agreed to see one of the other nurse practitioners in the office. Even though they were running a little behind in their appointments Dr Kumar arrived at the office about halfway through my appointment and came in to my room and didn't rush. He took his time to once again answer all my questions and to be sure I was doing good. I would definitely recommend Dr Kumar if you need a Neuro Surgeon. If I should need any more surgies I won't see anyone else but him.

I'm praying he is a better surgeon that he is a person. He operated on my mom. Only time will tell. He is rude and arrogant to patients and family. He left messages directly on my voicemail (phone was right by my side both times) and then complained he couldn't reach me to talk to me. My brother and I feel our 75 year old mom needs to go to a rehab for a week or so before going home where she basically lives alone and he adamantly is denying our request. The hospitalist, physical therapist and 2 occupational therapists agree she would not be safe returning home. He called the case manager and the supervisor of OT/PT and stated my mom is just fine to go home (2 days after surgery). I can't figure out why he cares so much if she goes to a rehab and not directly home. If anyone has an idea I would love to hear it. I'm filing complaints with the medical board and with Medicare for unsafe discharge. Thank God my mom has myself and my brother to advocate for her! She is awaiting authorization for rehab and will stay in the hospital until it's approved. The PT/OT therapists are not being bullied and are continuing to write notes that she should go to rehab. I feel sorry for any older adults who have him as a doctor and don't have advocates.
