Whole staff is helpful and informative. Kawika was in charge of my job leads and they were super helpful to get hired right after schooling! Highly recommend this place to my friends who are looking into these trades.

Hi, I was recently a student at VTI and I would like to warn future students. I payed for my schooling which came close to 20k and I have to say I don’t believe the school is worth half of that. For one are teacher was sick the whole school so we had a sub who graduated from the very school a year before me and I believe she is a good welder but a terrible teacher. Second the tools and equipment failed multiple times a week while I was at the school which caused a massive backup of students just to use a cutting torch. Not to mention lack of supplies and space. Then don’t even get me started on living accommodations. The hotel is ranked 1.5 stars and that is supposedly the best hotel in the area which that should say everything. And from the homeless to the drugs in the area is not really a safe place for its students. And to top it all off the staff messed up my flight plan there and back, then tried to bribe me with giving me the HVAC class for free. This is not how you’re supposed to treat vets.

Shoutout to TOP. We had our differences…… But… One hellofa instructor! I finished school in April. Now I work for a company called Coolsys that service Starbucks around the country. I can’t lie. I find myself thinking about how Top put things into perspective about refrigeration, and the HVACR industry as a whole. The man knows his stuff and deserves his flowers! Thanks for the knowledge!

I attended VTI a few years back and the staff is great but the school itself is not work the price for HVAC, it costs about $15k for 1 month of schooling and you get almost no experience for the real world and the certification, which by the way you can just study on your own and get them for a few hundred dollars, they give you some tools and a laptop but that is less than $1k easily. I would not recommend the school for anyone

I’m a vet and I attended the welding program and the instructor named Mel is absolutely terrible. Her style of teaching is bland and boring.
Instead of helping the students she just walks around with a bad attitude and criticizes everything you do. It would be different if it was constructive criticism and she would try to help you improve but that is not the case.
The hotel they have you stay at it surrounded by drug dealers and addicts who constantly harass you. The rooms are not clean and they are also infested with roaches. Besides that the other instructors are amazing and so is the management staff.

My name is Tipton I am currently about to graduate VTI and have nothing but great things to say about the school if you want to knock out your welding certificates and get into the field as fast as possible than this is the pulse to go! The instructors Mr Z & Jason are more than qualified and have many years of feild experience!

Attended the class around April, May time frame. Mike (Top) is a great instructor.very disappointed in what is offered as tools when your lucky to find a job after school. A bag, old school gauge and meter.no hand tools that are common. Not even a simple screwdriver with VTI etched into it.every Tech that saw my so called graduation gift laughed and said that's it.as they told me about everything there schools offered them after graduation. For the amount of money the VA gave them I believe they would want to see more tools for there vets that are starting out.i really must update due to immediate correction on lack of tools. Recently received a box of tools that were very appreciated. Once again lead trainer has stepped up and proven why he is such an asset to the school.

I attended this school last month to learn HVAC I gotta say it was an awesome experience Dalton was a stellar instructor couldnt have asked for a more intelligent or patient person to learn from. I would recommend this school to any veteran looking to expand their expertise 10/10 definitely recommend.

I attended VTI from January 18th- February 15 and it had to be one to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Not only did they keep their promises of helping you find work upon graduation, but while attending the hands on instruction we received was second to none. My primary instructor was Dalton Gregson, and with the use of training aides, real world scenarios and overall expert knowledge of the trade i can truly say we left VTI ready to get our “feet wet” in the HVAC industry. In addition to our primary instructor we also received guidance and alternate forms of learning from Michael “Top” Frans, another instructor at the school. VTI is very veteran friendly and yes, the GI Bill covers it. A month after leaving VTI i got i landed an Installer position with the biggest HVAC company in my area. If you take nothing from this post or it was just too long VTI is the best option for jumping into HVAC and or Welding.

If you’re a Veteran don’t attend this school seriously.they take all this money from your GI Bill and can’t even shuttle you from the airport not only that you’ll be in a rundown red roof hotel that is congregated by crackheads throughout the area. Don’t look for getting a great position at a job with just this certification alone the school is non accredited… if you know what’s best for you I’ll say go to an actual technical college or university and get certification there

I am a veteran and a student at this school about to graduate. I have had a great experience with this school. The instructors have been on time, and given me the opportunity to learn a new trade in a way I can understand. I am not sure about the bad experience of anyone else however, I think the program is what you make of it. What the school offers is not a scam at all. I have never sat around and played cards, or waited to learn. I have had a job offer already before i return home, and weather i get hired, or weather i need a certificate or not; I feel more confident now. I'm sure I am a step ahead of people without an OSHA 10, R-410A, or EPA 608 Universal certification. I can say one thing; after leaving the military; I have had little to no opportunity being successful in finding job offers until now. This school helped me with refining my interview skills, and my resume, while learning a wealth of knowledge in hvac. I am staying positive and motivated to use everything I have learned here to turn my future into a successful career in HVAC.

Update:
I have stuck with my trade I now make salary for something I love to do and I do not have to worry about money. I have great work life balance and do not regret the decision to attend this school. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to better themselves or change professions. It’s a recession proof career.
