Walt's Ace Hardware reviews
28Came in for some 4 way water keys. Ace had what I needed times two. Great staff, very attentive and friendly.
Came to get keys made. 1st time the keys didnt work. 2and time one key was not cut at all. I am just not happy with this place whatsoever.if I could give zero stars I would!
Nearly thirteen years ago I bought my house a couple miles away from Ace. Dawson worked there with Eddie who is still there. Lovely place. I drive a Harley and come to ace for most everything and carry it within my back pack. And today coming home from work I stopped in to buy an impact drill. And as I take my back pack off to leave with the cashier I was told that I cannot have a back pack in the store. Or even leave it at registers. Which has always been how you guys handle these things. Im not shopping here anymore.

Its their delivery on how they tell you. Its nasty and rude. Thought I'd try one last time. For a key. They wouldn't even bring out the key for me like they used to. And wear the mask correctly if your so concerned
Horrible customer service. Would not let me return a ratchet wrench that the salesman recommended. I returned within a half an hour and purchased a full ratchet set that the same salesman recommended. Not letting me return the original ratchet wrench for a measly $14 is horrible customer service. I've always enjoyed going to Ace Hardware's, but I will not return to this store.
Ok my view on this store has changed. I bought a spare key for my car online and took it to Walts Ace Hardware just to have it cut. The price to just copy a house key is only $2.65 yet they charged me $20.00 just to cut the key. I DID NOT need them to program the key! This is outrageous. Cutting a car key that does not require a laser cut or programming is effectively the same as cutting a house key. Not only was the price astronomical, they proceeded to tell me that they wouldnt be responsible if the key didn't work do to the cut. I find this unacceptable. When i asked to speak to the manager the sales associate got on the radio and asked him if he was busy and he answered no and went on to answer several questions. However, when i asked to speak with him personally, somehow he was in a meeting. Walt, you just lost a customer for life. And as far as I'm concerned anyone thinking about shopping here should reconsider.
Every time I walk into this store I am greeted by someone who asks me if I need help. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. It is sometimes a bit much, being asked by several different people in one trip to the store if I need help as they see me in different parts of the store, but I feel the intent is always from a great place. I had a remarkable experience the other day when I needed a specialty tool for a tap and die kit because I did not have room to use the T-handle that came with it. I was unsure if the $50 tool I saw that looked like it might fit would actually work, so I asked if I could break open the packaging to check. Wes, the Manager, said that the type of packaging would be ruined and it wouldn’t be possible. I understood since the tool would no longer be able to be displayed if I opened it to check due to the manufacturers packaging. Wes then offered to sell me the tool at half price but it would be non-returnable, again because of the damage that would necessarily happen to the packaging. I accepted the offer, and the tool did exactly what I needed it to do. Thank you very much for your help.
Everyone here is super friendly and helpful. I’ve gotten keys made here for both house and auto, as well as paint mixed. The employee who answered my phone call gave good advice on how to paint match, and the employee there was awesome at helping us get the right color.
Awesome, helpful ppl. Spent 3 hours in Lowe's and Home Depot, nothing done. Came here and in 15min got everything I needed
It is my quicky hardwae store, they have a great selection and service people that know me by first name. They are always eager to help me.
Tried to help didn't have electrical part I needed told me to go to browns electrical, got it there, good advise,
The employee's are always extremely helpful and nice. There is a treasure trove of gadgets and knick knacks. I just have a hard time with the prices. They are a tad bit over priced.
You always pay double the price at Ace, but if you need somthing in a hurry then Ace is the place.
Ace is the place. Hard to find niche items at a big box store but not at Ace. Hard to find knowledgable staff but not at Ace. Hard to find manners in customer service but not at Ace. Wish they werent choked out by monopolies like HD Lowes etc more Aces would mean more successes for contractors. Many a time they have provided me that one part that enables me to fix instead of replace. Cheaper job for the customers means repeat business and thats where the real money is. Thanks Ace!
I love this place! Lots of employee helpers. Clean store. Lots of great stuff. A bit pricey. Nice staff.
You can always find what your looking for. Very friendly employees. Sometimes they can be too helpful in the sense that it's not a very big store and you can get asked if you need help 5 times in 10 minutes. Very clean and very well organized.
I'd rather give my money to ACE than Wally-World! Help the little guy! Not the giants! Great place to shop!
I live in a 45 year old townhouse and they always know exactly what I need based on the age of my house. And always have it!
I've shopped here for 8 years and generally have been treated well. As of today I will no longer be shopping here because of there return policy. At least if a person buys an item at Walmart they will exchange it if it falls apart after a couple of uses. My mother is a senior citizen and it was insinuated that she must have stolen a basket that she bought because she lost her receipt. The manager wouldn't work with her at all. My mother ended up throwing the basket away.
This is the first hardware store we shopped when we moved here. They have always had what we needed. Very professional and knowledgeable.
Friendly staff, good prices. Is a great place for a quick run for gardening, painting, and other projects. While providing modern/up to date options for household repair needs, they also cater to our specific neighborhood, which is older. The houses in our neighborhood have some "outdated" specifics for piping, windows, electric, air and Ace carries most items to repair & match the existing.
