3I've been a long time customer of west marine, spent lots of money here and was ok with driving an hour to just walk through the store and see the inventory. But yesterday's visit changed that. The kid who was recently hired (maybe had a bad day or something) shut the lights and stereo off 5 min before 5pm and said it's time to go.normally I wouldn't care because it was close to closing. But the freeways were shut down and it took longer to get there then usual, which I had mentioned. But his attitude and the way he went about it is the reason I won't return to west marine. There's more to this visit I can say about this employee, but honestly im not waisting my energy.cheers
Love the stores and inventory, the Phoenix store is understandably small, but i could spend days in the FT. Lauderdale store, its like Disneyland for a boater like myself.
But the website is HORRIBLE, always slow, very quirkey, sometimes doesnt work at all. Hasnt improved in 10 years - just go to a store
The people that was there was great and friendly was looking for a boat cover but didn't see any that I liked was on the way to dentist appointment was running early
