Terrifyingly awful care experience. My partner fainted, hit her head, and began seizing. The entire hour on the way to the hospital I was scared she was going to die or have a life altering brain injury. Once the EMT learned that she had taken mushrooms earlier that day, they decided that was a good enough reason for everything that happened and literally just gave her an IV. They continuously treated us like we were overreacting. Upon reaching the hospital, they did not treat her at all for a concussion despite her having numerous clear and severe symptoms (Vomited 5 times on the way to the hospital). I waited for over an hour before I was allowed to be in the room with her, and it was 30 minutes after that when I asked if they could give her a CT scan, which they reluctantly agreed to do despite it being a clear and obvious thing to do for someone that was rushed to the ER for a head strike seizure. It literally gives me chills thinking about how poor the care we received at the hospital was. My partner upon coming back to Tucson received a second opinion from a doctor at a major hospital who corroborated that psilocybins do not cause seizures without the presence of other factors, and that she is clearly suffering from Post Concussion Syndrome. It took over 2 months for her to no longer have daily headaches. She clearly had a concussion.

I am not a medical professional, but as far as I can see there is absolutely no scientific evidence of psilocybins causing seizures in individuals without epilepsy. There is however a plethora of evidence indicating POCs and specifically POC women receive worse healthcare due to physician bias, and this hospital is likely a perfect example of it. Logic says that we had to push and advocate for proper care of my partner not due to any reasonable contraindications (shaky statistical support), but due to a primarily white male physician staff clearly ignoring the needs and suffering of a black woman (absolutely resounding statistical support).

Misdiagnosing a serious concussion is verifiably malpractice. Needing a patient to ask the attending physician for a CT scan after being rushed to the hospital for a head injury seizure is a scary standard of care that should not continue.

The morning after Xmas I awoke to the lovely gift of a kidney stone issue. Dr. Johnson and the emergency room staff were all awesome and I can't thank them enough. The service they provided was prompt, caring, and professional. Dr. Johnson told me I had a 2 mm stone and wouldn't you know it. I delivered a 2 mm stone later that day be-stilling much relief. My family has been using this ER for many years with never a bad tale to tell and sure are glad things there haven't changed. Once again many thanks to all the ER staff. Keep up the good work.

Sincerely
Rex

I was having a heart attack and thought it was just a panic attack until Dr. Dave Hall was the doctor that took care of me! The first blood test showing the levels of the enzymes in my blood were right at the level so he asked me to stay for 3 hours so he could retake the test and check again to make sure! Well the second test told him I had a heart attack! I was ready to just go home and go to bed but instead I listen to doctor Dave Hall and waited and took the second test then was flown down to the valley were I had an operation getting a stent put in my heart because I had a 99.3% blockage! Thank you Doctor Dave you are an amazing doctor! So nice and gentle and understanding and thank you for helping me get through this! You are my savior! This is not the first time I’ve been in the emergency room there it happened to be the second time and both times I was treated great! And I was treated like family I wish all places treated people like this all the time the nurses were great to! Thank y’all for all your hard work and dedication to all you put into your profession

I wouldn't even take my dog to this hospital or clinic if it were free. Patients beware. To long to post all three issues at this hospital and clinic. Pam Lowry is simply the worst Dr ever asking with her staff and the director that has ignored me for 3 additional months after promising to investigate. Now, time to layer up. Do they realize after being ignored for 8 months and literally possibly facing a type of leukemia cancer as I have to repeat blood work in a month to know, that I simply want that damn director to call and say idk what happened but you are right, you got missed and ignored after 50 phone calls in the 8 months and we are sorry. I don't want money or anything else, I want an apology. But now maybe I'll get money to. We will see

Emergency staff were great. Front desk receptionist Casey is rude and lacks the ability to connect with people in a respectful manner. She seemed annoyed with basic questions and not friendly at ALL.

Went for a MRI. The receptionist in outpatient services was just so unbelievably.rude to me and I just asked if I was in the right place. There are no signs anywhere in the facility to direct you to imaging, or anywhere else for that matter. I will not be back.

My husband has been in the WMRMC swing bed program twice. He received exceptional physical therapy and was treated with dignity and sincere concern. Thanks to his excellent care, he was able to return home both times. I highly recommend this swing bed program.
