Winter Sun Herbs, Flagstaff AZ

Super disappointing. I’ve been in this shop a few times and always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. I’m recovering from a serious fracture and called to find out if they carried comfrey. The man who answered was abrupt and offered no help. I’m actually kinda stunned.

I've known the owner since highschool. Quality Crafted herbal medicines and beauty products. The Art and Jewelry selection is Top-Notch. I ordered a pair of earrings for my Mother and she had them in three days. She loves them!

Absolutely love this place, the employees are always kind and helpful with anything you need and always on top of your orders. They have a plethora of healing herbs and other merch to explore. ️ Peace love harmony to all

The clerk in the store when I visited was very kind to me and was very generous With the free samples and maybe some expired product. I wasn't able to come see him again before I left town, but I very much thank him for being kind to me.

I have shopped at Winter Sun since 1996. I have regularly purchased herbs, tinctures, decor, prints, stickers, lotions and salves. I ALWAYS support local. I am born and raised in Flagstaff for 43 years, and own a business here. In December, I brought an out of town guest to Winter Sun to purchase some turquoise earrings. We were greeted by a rude, tall, young sales woman. We felt that she was talking down to us and seemed to be in a bad mood. We figured the girl was just having a bad day. We purchased some earrings and were on our way. Fast forward to this weekend. I was running in to get sunscreen and some salve. I opened the door, and the same young lady asked if I had a mask. I said, "oh, no I'm sorry, do you guys have one for me? " She said, "No, go outside. " No please, no humility. I stepped outside and cracked the door to asked if I could wrap something else around my face, she again said no and to shut the door. She didn't seem to be coming to the door to help me. I cracked the door and asked if she could grab the two things I needed. As she ROLLED HER EYES and SCOWLED at me, she came towards me to shut the door in my face. I freaking lost it and yelled a wide variety of colorful cuss words and names at her and slammed the door in HER face. I'm sorry I lost my temper, but being belittled and vilified because I left my mask in my car is unacceptable. I understand the strong feelings about masks, but there is a professional and kind way to ask someone to wear a mask. Unfortunately, after reading the other posts where people were treated with the same disrespect as me, this seems like the new 'norm' for this establishment. Shame on you Winter Sun. I'll be taking my business ANHYWHERE else.

12/7/2021- I was determined to find parking and go into winter sun. I was wanting to buy some “thieves blend” for winter. Upon opening the front door- I was greeted by a man with dark hair who had a mask on! I looked up suddenly because I did not realize that he was yelling at me!

He yelled, ” you must have a mask on in order to enter the store! “. I was quite taken back and how I was treated upon entering the shop! And whether the shop owners understand or know that masks do not protect you from the COVID-19 or not, … I will not dispute that issue however the issue was how I was treated upon entering their store.

This was utterly humiliating as I responded quietly and said OK then and just headed back out and shut the door behind me. I am trying to support local, however when I am met with such animosity I would much rather go online and purchase it there. Very sad. I will not recommend the store to anyone that I know.

We had been searching for Native woven baskets when walking by spotted them through the window. When we opened the door they yelled that they were trying to close the store. When we asked what time they opened the next day they screamed for us to get out because they were trying to lock the door. As I was pushed out the door I let them know there hours were not posted and a lady yelled 9: 00am. No thanks, I will not be spending my money at this store.

I had a fantastic experience at Winter Sun! They are taking Covid Precautions very seriously, which I appreciate. They had a maximum of two shoppers in the store at a time, which meant I had to wait outside for a bit. But, the short wait was absolutely worth it! Winter Sun has an extensive variety of herbs and teas! The staff are also more than happy to help, and helped me find exactly what I was looking for! The staff even went above and beyond to recommend specific herbs and teas according to my needs. Everything is fantastically priced, and Winter Sun ais a must visit in Downtown Flagstaff!

This place is a gem staffed with knowledgeable, helpful and personable employees. I am very thankful to have these products and this level of knowledge in my home town.

I am a believer of herbal medicine. I used one of their tinctures many moons ago for severe menstral pain. I was standing straight up in 30 minutesThe knowledge of their products are beyond wonderful.
