The room itself was spacious and the King-size bed was extremely comfortable for both my partner, our dog, and I. We seriously contemplated stealing the pillows. There were plenty of towels and we didn't have any issues with hot water for the shower or the air conditioning. There was NO WIFI in our room, unfortunately, but we didn't have any issues with the TV, which had a decent selection of channels despite the remote being relatively rudimentary (ain't no Roku in these rooms, but who goes to the Grand Canyon to binge-watch Grey's Anatomy anyway?).

We did find the cleanliness of the floor and carpet to be subpar, as if they were swept and vacuumed by a blind drunk (think dog fur/dander). Considering we stayed in a dog-friendly room in Yavapai West, one would think that more care might be taken to clean these rooms after each visitor departs. So that was disappointing. We also had some unpleasant insect encounters, but we are very aware of the region of the country we were in and how nightmarish some bugs can get. The other truly disappointing part of our trip was when we went to check out. We saw an advertisement on the television that if we deny housecleaning services during.ourstay, we would receive a free water bottle. Well, we denied housecleaning services for our three nights and upon checkout were told that they were no longer providing that service. So unless they take that ad down ASAP, that's an outright lie. We would've partaken in housecleaning services otherwise.

Overall, the room itself did what a room should do. And the giant dog crate that was provided for our 9 lb miniature dachshund was actually a pleasant surprise (we lugged her own personal crate with us because we didn't realize they were provided). To make the room worth the price, I would've expected a microwave, a toaster, and a mini fridge with a tiny freezer section. But hey, I'm just a well-traveled adventurer and of course they're trying to force you to eat/pay money at their restaurants so.

The one time we ate at the Yavapai Tavern it was packed indoors so we decided to sit outdoors under an umbrella with a few other strong-willed folk during some random monsoon-like downpours. It was actually quite exhilarating. Especially when the fire alarm went off inside and the power went out, forcing all the patrons sitting/eating indoors to evacuate while we smugly continued enjoying our meals. The food itself was definitely lackluster for the price, so I'm glad we experienced some better quality at El Tovar for our final night.

We got brunch at the Yavapai Lodge on another day and despite the buffet having a decent enough selection, it was definitely VERY traditional, bland American (which I suppose is what they're going for considering the quantity of foreigners who visit). Bring your seasonings if you're accustomed to more flavorful fare. That's all I'm saying.

Perfect for our stay. The fact that you can be so close to the canyon is amazing! Just a quick walk and the most beautiful view around.

Beautiful location for those who love to immerse themselves in nature.
The structure internally is poorly maintained.
The rooms and corridors are not cleaned properly (the carpet is old, smelly and stained) and there is no wifi in the rooms.
The quality of the food in the restaurant is sufficient, however the staff who are at the till were very rude and unfriendly towards us.

Yavapai is very convenient when seeing the Grand Canyon. It's located inside the park, and you can catch the blue shuttle bus right there on the property. There is also a gift shop, and small grocery store (Market Plaza), a cafeteria/dining room, Tavern, deli/sandwich shop, and coffee/ ice cream shop. It is great having all this so close, and prevents the need to do any driving. Now for the negative, don't expect your room to be spotless. It was clean enough. The lodge units are older. We had a number (5-6 at a time) of small flying bugs (moths, etc.) that stayed in our bathroom. While they didn't bother me excessively, they might bother some. The beds were comfortable, the A/C worked well, and the refrigerator cooled well. There was no microwave. There is one in the main lodge that you can use, but it's very old (no rotating plate). All that being said, I wouldn't discourage anyone from staying here due to the convenience of location and nearby amenities.

Not worth $240 a night. The only reason to pay it is to be on the GC property. Room was ok, but AC would completely turn off when we left the room. Came back to 80 degree rooms both days. Room was near the exit to outside - we believe the housekeepers had the door propped open when cleaning and many bugs came in (moths, gnats, spiders). We found at least 10-12 over the course of 2 days.

Are these five star rooms? No. But they're clean, comfortable, and Inside the Grand Canyon Park. Totally worth it.

One note is my wife and I got in late and the dog friendly rooms didn't have the best outside lighting. Great for stargazing, a bummer to find your room. You might want to have a flashlight handy if you're coming in late.

The room was pretty pricey for what you get. I'll start by saying we got checked in and not only was the first room they gave us not cleaned from the previous guests but the room they moved us to was also not clean. We were given dinner vouchers which was good because the food was ok but definitely over priced for food court style food. We did eat breakfast in the tavern as well and the was way overpriced for what we got. The room was infested with bugs of all sorts, like they were coming from the vents or something. Ants, moths, strange flying bugs etc. No usual gross hotel bugs like bed bugs or roaches though. The only plus is the location of the motel and the convenience of the shuttle system. All the employees we came across were extremely friendly.

We had read many not so positive reviews, but we had a great time! The structure has houses immersed in the park, ours was spacious and with all the comforts. We didn't try the restaurant. But sleeping in absolute silence and under the starry sky as I haven't seen for a long time in our opinion is worth it

Nice lodge inside the park. Front desk staff was very friendly as was the housekeeping staff. I liked having food options on site. It's also very close to the south rim trail so you're not far from being able to easily explore the park.

We stayed at this hotel in early July 23. Really a bad one! Hotel. Dirty rooms, it smells like toilet blocks, flies everywhere and the staff at the reception is not really friendly. Luckily we only had one night there. The price is definitely too high for what is offered. Here you pay for the location and don't care about the facility and guests. My tip, rather accept a short journey to the Grand Canyon and book a hotel just outside the national park. At the end we were offered a "generous" 10% discount on Expedia for our comments. Let's see if they come. But basically the stay there was not worth a star!

This place is about what you’d expect for a National park: a very expensive Motel 6 type of hotel in a beautiful location. It’s kind of what you get when you’re in a remote spot with no competition. First, know that the staff is VERY nice and helpful. No complaints there. The rooms are very basic for what I thought was a high price. Here’s the run down: the fluorescent lights flickered (annoying), the shower head was adjusted so that it was a trickle, the fridge was not plugged in (which I didn’t realize until the next day when things had gone bad), the coffee machine didn’t work.

The price/performance ratio is indescribably bad. Mosquitoes and flies in a hotel room are still acceptable in a hotel in a national park, but this was prevalent in many rooms and this was not the only deficiency, especially in the bathroom. In our room, the floor in front of the shower was soggy and open. Furthermore, the bathroom didn't seem to be thoroughly cleaned, as there were hairs in the shower.

OK Lodge. Overpriced though. You pay for staying near Grand Canyon but still.

Was greeted with an extra fee as we apparently booked with a rate that we were not entitled to.

Too bad our north rim cabin reservation felt thought. Would probably try to something else next time.

The outside of the building does look like summer camp, but the room was nice. Plenty of parking. We enjoyed food at the restaurant and the tavern. It was great to be in the park. Well worth it!
