Yavapai Vista Point reviews
16 Quite the views, especially in the afternoon with the sun behind us.
The walk up was fairly easy. Then decided to do some additional hiking on the 'Slim Shady' trail. It was a bit more challenging, especially because mountain bikers were plentiful.
Generally we shared the trail well, but we still had to be on guard, listening for them and then looking for places to step off the trail as some bikers careened down the trail. Perhaps if we had gone on a another section of the trail it would have be less stressful.
Note - the overall rating includes our hiking experience. The view from the Vista gets 5 stars.
I never turn away a chance to visit Sedona even for work meeting because I get a chance to savor the stunning views of the majestic red rock scenery. Vista Point is along the route into Sedona proper on the 179. There are numerous stops but this one has fewer tourists and if you have time a simple walk/ hike too.
Great views. It was a pay to park lot but they except N. P. A.passes so I parked and looked around using my senior pass.
We parked here, crossed the highway, and hiked around the butte and bell rock. We had our kids, ages 4,8,12, and they were troopers! It was about 5 miles around! Pay attention to the trail markers so you don’t add extra time and miles like we did!
Beautiful place to hike! We went to another popular hiking spot down the road but the parking lot was full so we came here and found plenty of parking. They had a bike tool station to repair mountain bikes and clean bathrooms. Although the bathroom door didn’t lock and a man walked in on me, scarred him more than me lol. There is no water station, so pack plenty of water especially during the day. We went later in the afternoon before sun down. We took the slim shady trail for quite a ways. Our hike was about 2 1/2 hours and it was pure bliss! I could not believe the beauty everywhere we looked. We noticed so many people were stopping to park and just taking pictures from the parking lot and leaving, but they really missed out on some amazing sites and beautiful dessert flowers. Even if you just do the hike a little ways, go for it! It was a relatively easy hike. We even saw an interesting area with old rusty car doors and parts. It was an amazing time!
Very cool scenic area to look at. You can get great photos and there are always trails to hike on.
Stopped in to take some pictures. Tons of parking. Great place to make "base camp" for the day and do some exploring.
Good place to hike or wander. Although the view is better across the street at the bell rock climb.
Nice area to hike, with beautiful views. Kinda limited parking, but still worth it to check out! Not to hard of a hike. I like how they had plenty of waste baskets.
Yavapai is a beautiful place to take a safe hike. There are markers to guide you to stay on trail. Super easy trail and breathtaking views. Take your time take beautiful photos enjoy the day.
Can be an easy hike or a difficult one - lots of different trail options and the MOST BEAUTIFUL sights! In the center of all the vistas, absolutely gorgeous.
Great views w multiple length trails. I like to stop by. Usually not packed with people like other more popular trails.
The lot fills up on weekends or holidays, but if you come mid day you can always find someone going.
This is one of the best trails I have ever been on in my life! Go to the end Of Yavapai Vista. You will be treated to some of the best views of this wonderful place. Many say there is powerful vortex energy here.
Amazing location and views! Usually more parking here than the other side of the road. Cathedral rock just a few miles in. You can also get to Bell and Courthouse Butte from here. There are tunnels that go under the road.
