Zona 78, Tucson AZ

First and last time coming here. I ordered the bruschetta and after taking a bite decided I did not like it at all. The server politely said it would be removed from the bill. To my surprise, upon receiving the bill the bruschetta was in a to-go bag and wasn’t removed from the bill. I’m not one to make a scene but the decision the manager took was wrong as I did not want the meal. Might I add, the manager made no efforts to check on us and ask what happened or why I didn’t want it.

Mediterranean pizza was phenomenal - homemade cheese, everything from scratch. I could eat this everyday. Crust was perfectly baked. Caesar salad was amazing. Service was excellent!

Funny experience tonight. Ordered a red sangria and was told they were out of the mix? Asked them to make simple sangria with red wine and peach or pear brandy and soda water. Came back and said bartender could not do it. Asked server to ask manager to tell bartender to make a simple sangria. Manager came over and would not entertain that idea at all. I said do you have a mix book for a recipe to make one. Manager said she new how to make one but it took at least a day to make one. I then said just forget it as I can live without one. Manager proceeded to tell me I was being disagreeable which was a surprise since I was trying to find a solution. Not the best approach!
The food was good but the effort towards simple servicing a need was very poor. Mike

Update: a year later, service was very friendly. But the pizza continues to be, at best, mediocre - I asked my partner to remind me to never get the pizza here again - it comes cooked through, but the feeling is that it is a bit too raw, soft, and lacking in terms of flavor… the rose and the white wines came warm, even the water comes out colder! I cannot recommend this place

They have a very good BBQ chicken gluten free pizza. Great outdoor patio with shade and heaters for colder weather.

This is my third $16 salad with this avocado. I try to be understanding but the avocado was placed upside down all three times so the rotten portion was not visible until you start eating it. I attempted twice by email with photos to the restaurant with no response. You decide if this looks like you want to spend $16 to eat.

My women's group AAUW from Green Valley enjoyed our lunch. Our service was efficient and fast. We had 11 ladies and we did not have to wait long for food. It was busy and food was delicious.

Everything tasted like something you could have gotten at walmart in the frozen aisle and warmed up yourself…. No flavor, no substance, everything was sooooo bad. We were so excited to eat here! I honestly and truly want a refund, it was that bad

Was served a pizza so sloppy I had to eat it like it was a pile of mush with a fork, the cheese didn’t even separate from the dough, it just straight up fell in half. For a pizza you can’t even hold in your hand 20 dollars is way too much. Service was pretty shallow as well, although I guess I can’t expect fun energetic service when it was slow.

Had a great dinner at Zona 78 after being told about it by a friend. Wine selection was good and the food was amazing, esp the trout with the potatoes. Service was top-notch as well; our waitress, Hayley, was super attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend! Looking forward to the next visit.

I have half a mind to give this place a 2 but am rounding up per my husband. It’s okay at best. The prices are atrocious. We spent $130 for 3 adults and 1 toddler for dinner. It ain’t that good!

Great atmosphere and staff are awesome. I had eggplant parmesan it was to die for. You won't leave hungry or dissatisfied.

What happened to Zona 78? It used to be one of my favorite restaurants. We went for happy hour a few weeks ago and the cocktails were bad, we got the wrong order and were looked at like we were crazy when we told the waiter about receiving the wrong food. I think the response was, “oh yeah, I guess. Do you really want me to put in for the other thing. ” This make me sad.

Trip from Pittsburgh to Tuscan vacation, this was hands down the BEST meal/service I can say I had the entire trip! The prosciutto and portobello pizza, salad, bread, wine, espresso, coffee, beer. Seriously the best and can not even complain about any of it! The waitress was above and beyond, super nice and sweet. Will definitely be coming back here.

This place can’t decide if it’s a nice Italian restaurant or a sports bar. Expensive, average food and average service. Attention to the food wasn’t great either, the eggplant Parmesan was overcooked.

Dinner is set to the nonstop tune of 90s power pop hits like Ace of Bass. Doesn’t really set the mood or enhance the atmosphere. And there are something like 8 distracting TVs on one side of the house with a guy loudly clapping every time his team makes a basket. Not worth the money or the time, if you’re not looking for an expensive Italian sports bar.

This place is so good! We had the Brussels and bacon, homage bread and jam so crunchy. For main course the Mediterranean germeli. In addition to the fantastic food the staff was outstanding. Hailey was attentive and helpful when ordering. Yhe next time 8 am in Tucson I will eat here again

Very pricey for the little amount of food you get, shrimp pasta dish was very bland, and for the $22 price I didn’t even get a side salad or more than a half piece of bread to go with my meal. I left the restaurant still hungry and very disappointed in the price I had to pay for this meal. There were not many options to choose from on the menu. We won’t be back
