Zur Kate German Restaurant reviews
18 First time eating here. They open at 4pm on this Saturday night. We got there about 15 minutes before 4. There was already a line of people wait. I thought that must be a good thing. We got in and seated. They had live music already playing. I ordered the goulash with potatoes and red cabbage. The goulash is a special just on weekends. It was wonderful! Service was fast and friendly. If you're looking for some good German food, this is it.
We'll be back for sure!
Had to wait a while, but it was well worth it. Played my button box outside while we were waiting.
Amazing German food. This time I had the smoked pork chop with grill onions, German potato salad and homemade fries. The pork was smokey and tender. The German potato salad was deliciously tangy and homemade fries were delicious too
Having lived in Germany I was excited to have discovered this Gem, food is incredible and VERY Authentic. Our server Rosangela did such an incredible job. We atr here twice this week and she served us both time with an amazing experience. We HIGHLY recommend this place. 10 STARS for us.
We had a craving for Schnitzel and Zur Kate German Restaurant came through! The Schnitzel Cordon Bleu with sides of Red Cabbage and German Potato Salad with a side of Polnische Wurst was what I ordered and it was amazing! Had a few bites of someone's Zigeuner Schnitzel and it was just the right amount of "spicy". The bell peppers, jalapeños and onions worked perfectly with the hot pepper gravy! We'll definitely be back!
Excellent staff who are always the most friendly and inviting, warm and cozy atmosphere with even better food. The accordion player is always a wonderful time too! I love listening to him play.
Been going here with my entire family for over 15 years probably 20 times or more a year but not after tonight. They wouldn't let anyone in with out a mask. It is a restaurant where people eat food with out masks on. There is no mask mandate in this state at this time so I can tell they are not freedom loving people and won't get my business anymore. Besides their food has gone down hill in the past 2 years. I would rather drive 30 minutes to eddelweiss in north phoenix where they never shut down and have no mask rules! Zurkate you let me and my family and friends down big time!
The food was fantastic. They were very good at covid safety. The host and waitresses were great. We talked and laughed through dinner.they even had a gentleman playing the accordion.
Wanted to try this restaurant and never had German food before but the person was very rude and told us to go somewhere else because we didn't have a mask. That was unprofessional and could of been told on a nicer way. We took our business elsewhere. With the economy the way it is. No wonder places are closing down.
Excellent German food in an authentic dining experience. The service was fast and the food was very good. Alvetizan
Very affordable mom n pop German restaurant. The food is homemade. Very cozy atmosphere. This is in an old strip mall, not modern, not fancy. Get the Dunkle beer, you won't regret it!
Love this place. I really like German food and Zur Kate probably has the best in the Phoenix metro area. Friendly service. Be warned it can get pretty crowded with Snow Birds and they have limited seating. If you go on the right nights, they have live German music.
We LOVE it here! The food is amazing and we try to go when the accordian is playing! So much fun. Good beer and good service too. It does get busy though.
Great, friendly and personable staff. Schnitzel and cabbage were just like Omas. I tried both the weisswurst and the currywurst and loved them both. The currywurst was my favorite with a touch of heat. What actually brought me back was their red cabbage side dish. Just the right amount of tartness with a touch of sweet, outstanding. Will definitely be back.
Been here twice now and both times the service and music was great and festive.
We had the Zur Kat Hausmacher Bratwurst and Rouladen Special our first time. Both dishes were amazing. Our second time we had two different dishes and they were just as good.
Our 2 year old enjoyed the spatzle and red cabbage an of course Apple Studel. She also had a blast dancing to live music.
Food & service great. They don't have a full menu because of covid but food was good. They need to play german music
Loved everything at this restaurant. Its hard to find German restaurants and even harder to find one with good food.the food is wonderful.in fact going back in the same week.great food.great service.
