Our daughter has been to countless treatment centers so I would like to think my wife and I have seen it all. The day our daughter arrived, we received a phone call from her case manager introducing themselves as the point of contact going forward. From there we knew our daughter was right where she needed to be. We gained an overwhelming sense of peace. There was no smoke and mirrors from the admissions representative, and everything they assured would happen did. We are now currently in family therapy and log on to a family help group run by their clinical team every week for extra support. We just got back from a visit and for the first time in years, the daughter we always knew and loved is back! We know the fight against Addiction with our daughter doesn’t end here but she has absolutely built a strong foundation to maintain long term sobriety. I can’t thank 12 South enough. From their clinical team, operations staff, and admissions personal, thank you so much!

Hi, I just wanted to take a minute to thank 12 South Recovery for saving my life. My whole life was a total wreck and I was super scared of going to treatment. First, thank you to Tj and Sean for calming my nerves. They were the first ones who helped me admit and get settled. I would also like to thank my therapist and case manager for helping me open up and face things head-on for the first time Ever! The therapy was top notch and the staff made you feel like they genuinely cared and rooted for your success.
The groups were fresh and thoughtful, I've learned a lot. I've heard it said there is no perfect treatment center anywhere but I think 12 South Recovery has got to be pretty close. I would say to the addict or person struggling with emotional/ mental health, give yourself a chance and call 12 South Recovery today. They helped me with my legal issues and they helped me coordinate transferring to my sober living. They helped me with my resume and finding a job. I'm doing good now and I'm grateful.

I rolled into 12 South in early August of 2020. I was nervous and scared of a new environment because i was in a fragile and critical state of mind where I was unable to cope, make friends, hold boundaries or let alone try new things that pushed me out of my comfort zone. After completing many weeks of the PHP level of care at another place, I was eager and ready to push my treatment experience as far as I could.

I’ll never forget my first day at 12 South. It was BBQ day, on a Sunday. The second I walked into their courtyard I was greeted by other clients at the place, the staff, and offered a chair to sit, talk, and just be a part of it. The other clients made me a plate of food and even carried all of my bags for me. I struggled so hard to hold back the tears from the warm environment that I had walked into. It felt like a family, which was important for me so I can build the social skills that I needed, but was t willing to try. I didn’t immediately realize that from that day onwards, 12 South would be such a powerful and pivotal point of my personal recovery and for my life.

The staff. I’ve never seen staff at a treatment center work as hard as they do to make sure that all of the clients are well taken care of. Every time you’re struggling with something, they always pull you aside and look for all the ways they can help, make light of your situation, and help you resolve your issues. Which was very important for me because I was facing heavy criminal charges, along with the emotional trauma from the wreckage of my past and bridges I’ve burned. As cliche as it sounds, I came out the other side with a complete new life than I had. Failure was never an option for anyone who works at 12 South.

Their housing is near the highest-end mall in Southern California. The street is very quiet and peaceful, with nice neighbors. There’s plenty of places nearby to keep yourself busy at a short walking distance. Their apartment units are modern, with stainless appliances, large flat screens, and grey flooring. Gated courtyard, with key codes for all doors and security cameras 24 hours. Security is excellent and the staff that work at their housing are professional and amazing.

Why would I recommend 12 South? Because if you’re reading this you are probably living a poor quality of life and are looking for answers and solutions. I get it. Being sober is not easy, but it’s worth it. You’re probably wanting those answers on how your life can change for the better, but be careful, you might get exactly what you ask for. If you give it everything you got, you can live the life of your dreams, thanks to 12 South Recovery.

Before coming here for help, my life was truly run by my addiction and underlying mental health diagnosis. I now have over a year sober thanks to the help of 12 south. From the admissions process, individualized therapy and case management, I cannot thank 12 South enough for how caring and knowledgeable their entire staff is. Their alumni program is amazing as well. I am originally from Florida and have been able to build a life for myself here in California. Thank you 12 South!

The overwhelming majority of clients who come to 12 South Recovery are referrals from affiliated treatment centers. I came to 12 South after having completed five weeks of PHP at a reputable rehab with locations nation-wide, all of which regularly refer clients to this treatment center for their IOP level of care. 12 South neglects the individual needs and appropriate treatment paths of clients right from the beginning. During my admissions interview I was promised two weeks of additional PHP time at their facility before I could step down to the intended IOP level of care. The housing is located in Santa Ana, about a fifteen minute drive from their clinical facility. The male housing is filthy; there are flies everywhere and homeless people digging in the dumpster constantly. I made it through the two weeks of PHP only to be told that I was required to do a total of five weeks in addition to the five weeks I had already spent at the other facility. This was despite the fact that my case manager and therapist agreed that it was appropriate for me to have been admitted directly to IOP. This is a tactic known as "insurance-milking. " As long as one's insurance provider is willing to cover the cost of the care, the treatment center will ensure that it bills for the maximum days allotted so that, in effect, maximum profits are made despite the needs of the client. I learned of this tactic through contacting other treatment centers and they would not accept me because 12 South had already put such a burden on my insurance and also because my case manager refused to assist me in transitioning elsewhere, stating that it would be "against medical advice" even though I had been advised to be in IOP from the beginning-that was the entire point of going to 12 South, to "transition to IOP. " I was left with no choice but to rough out the five additional weeks-totaling 10 weeks of PHP time and was told that I should be "grateful" for the extra time. The groups are detrimental and unproductive at this facility. Groups seldom start on time and it takes everyone fifteen minutes each day just to figure out the schedule. 12 South offers treatment for mental health and substance abuse yet it completely neglects the needs of its mental health clients. Individual therapy is paramount to progress, yet there is only one therapist who sees clients face-to-face on a consistent basis. Most clients meet with a therapist once a week via zoom or phone due to covid-19 precautions, even though CDC guidelines are not enforced. This treatment center experienced a major covid outbreak earlier in the year right before my arrival. To reiterate, 12 South is a total disgrace when it comes to meeting the needs of its mental health clients. It is absolutely infuriating to see people in this program struggle and receive no help except to be sent back to the very facility that referred them here in the first place. The atmosphere at this treatment center is turbulent-there is a high turnover of staff and clients-expect to have at least one therapist change if you do decide to come here. Clinical staff is regularly overheard saying negative things about clients. Case managers often step in to lead groups because there are no long-term, stable facilitators or therapists. Groups are not planned. They are spur of the moment and contain zero application to life. 12 South is not the place to go if you want to achieve sobriety. Rather, it's the place to go if you want to use drugs and be able to get away with it. Urinalyses are conducted biweekly yet many clients are able to get away with using substances with zero repercussions. This facility chooses to be willfully ignorant of issues. This is a business first and foremost. Do not go here if you are serious about your life. This company is encouraging employees to author reviews as well as utilizing fake reviews to bolster its reputation. Falsifying reviews to lure people in for profits only highlights their negligence. Contact your insurance company to inquire about their pending lawsuits and see the truth for yourself.

Priceless

I wouldn't recommend this place if it were the last treatment facility on the face of the Earth. This place does not care about the well being of their clients not do they show interest in an aftercare plan. They kick clients out that have 8 months clean that are pregnant and they kick them out the week they find out that they are pregnant not caring about them or their well being. It really makes me sick to know that it is great while you are there but be careful because once your time is up it is up. You will even get calls from people that you have maybe seen twice wanting to know if you relapsed so they can stick you into another one of their treatments that they bank off of. And if you think the staff and owners are sober you are only fooling yourself. Stick to the West Coast and stay away from the South!
