24 Hour Fitness reviews
17Basketball courts are filthy.filled with McDonald's trash coffee cups.absolutely disgusting.
Need continous check in stream room, its always dirty with trash, vomit and sometime with pee. People shave their beard in steam room which is really unhygienic.complained at froint desk before too.but no action.
It's a good gym with a lot of equipment and features. The only complaints I have are that there is no enforcement of the following 2 rules on the wall. 1. No gym bags on the gym floor. People bring huge gym bags and leave them all over getting in the way. 2. Guys taking their shirts off in the gym. (not just talking about the basketball court)
Oh boy, where do we start with this one… I don’t really have much to say in addition to what the bad reviews below me have stated. All I can do is confirm how gross this place is. Every space in the gym smells musty and sweaty. The smell in the sauna has gotten so bad that members will bring a spray bottle with eucalyptus water to mask the smell of rotting bacteria. Please just clean more frequently. Your 3.5 star average rating will improve if you just listen to your customers. I will probably get a canned response from the staff written below that states something along the lines of “ We are working to make improvements and hope to serve you better in the future”. Talk is cheap, please make an actual effort to improve the gym.
Corporate needs to step up and stop neglecting this club! Gym is outdated and filthy. Not enough weights or machines. Broken machines and broken tv’s. Seriously, only one smith machine. Weights are scattered everywhere. Trash everywhere. Constantly out of paper towels and toilet paper. Zero pride.
I believe kids should have a safe place to play ball. However, they have no respect for the people at the gym. They run around, yell, leave trash, mess around on machines and cardio, etc. I just witnessed a bunch of kids running through the cardio machines and squat racks (bumping into one woman) to chase each other for their shoes. I wish that 24 would consider closing the basketball area at 5pm. This is not a playground; it's a gym. Kids running through occupied squat racks is a safety issue. I'm not saying take the courts away, but if they can't respect anyone, it should be closed during peak times.
I’ve been a member at 24 Hour Fitness for nearly 20 years and have used dozens of locations across the country and I can say that this is hand’s-down the worst location I’ve ever visited.
You can’t get a locker because people use them as permanent lockers and leave them locked after their workouts so others can’t use them. You can go there on a Sunday night when the gym is empty and 80% of the lockers are locked. Can’t they have someone on the night shift enforce the day-use policy?
Equipment is constantly in a state of disrepair with machines often taking months to get fixed if they are ever fixed at all. There are multiple empty spaces in the gym where they just gave up and removed the machine rather than bother with fixing it.
Staff is completely absent from the workout area. The area is filthy, weights are left all over the place and dudes are working out with their shirts off, getting sweat all over the machines with no repercussions. It’s like a combination between working out in a bathhouse or a prison yard.
The gym is EXTREMELY overcrowded. Don’t bother going on Monday through Thursday. Judging by the indifferent attitude of most of the staff, I suspect the staff isn’t checking the membership status of everyone coming through. Either the staff needs to stop letting in people without memberships or there needs to be a second 24 Hour Fitness location in Antelope Valley to disperse the crowd.
The only thing good I can say about this place is there are a couple staff members who care and have tried to make it a better place to work out (Dominic being one), but they can’t do it all on their own. Management needs to clean house and hire people who will enforce the rules.
In the meantime, if you live in Antelope Valley, I can’t recommend getting a 24 Hour Fitness membership because this location is so bad.
I love this gym! I have been a member since 1994 and an employee on 2 different stents from the Palmdale location to the old location that is now Crunch to this location on AVE K. There have been some decent upgrades for power cages. There needs to be more free benches for dumbbells and barbells. I have heard it said that "we don't cater to the body building crowd. " This was from a former GM who didn't really know his base. There are many more bodybuilders at this gym from the young and aspiring to retired and competitive. There are many more bodybuilding than are playing on the fixed motion machines. I have also heard from corporate via Regional Fitness Manager and Area Fitness Manager that there are no plans to bring back Kids Club. This is a huge mistake financially as many families work out together and are now forced to go to INSHAPE simply because they still have Kids Club. I'm not sure who the financial genius is behind this decision, but more income and less overhead equals more profit. 24 can be the mecca again, but they need some serious revamping in the financial strategy department in corporate.
Staff is always inviting and the gym has everything you c li old ask for! Sauna, steam room, pool jacuzzi! Not to mention the equipment. I love coming here.
After reading all these reviews I won't ever go to this 24 hour fitness corporation should look into this it's apparently they aren't doing a good job
No cleaning materials for machines. Crowded, way too crowded to even enjoy a workout. I have been a member here for the last four years and I’ve just cancelled my membership due to incredibly rude staff (Sabrina, I’m looking at you) - and generally uncleanliness. I’ve been to disorganized gyms before, but machines are broken. There’s barbells in the middle of the floor, and dirt inside the washrooms.
The place needs cleaned up. Trash on the floor and machines. Tile in pool area black needs scrubbed. Carpet in the place dirty.
There’s black mold all inside the showers. The jacuzzi is beyond disgusting Bathrooms look like they never get properly sanitized. This place just needs a good maintenance crew because it’s always nasty. Seriously who’s running this place? Next call is to BBB because it’s nasty.
Based on previous reviews online about this place being dirty, I decided to get a 3-day pass online before committing. Upon entering the facilities, I walked up to the front desk and was totally ignored by one of the ladies who seemed superior and older. I waited till she was done helping the younger one with a poster. After she left, I told the younger one that I had a 3-day pass. She waited for further information from her superior then asked me if I had been there before. I said yes about 4 years ago with a 90-day pass. She said I could not use my pass. I told her I was concerned about the facility cleanliness as I had read the reviews online. She said the only way I could get in was with a day pass for 25 dollars or a membership. I paid for the day pass as I was not about to commit to a place that could be dirty and disgusting to workout. It was not dirty but I was very disappointed in how they did business. I felt judged as a black woman who was looking for a clean place to workout.
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to address some concerns about the cleanliness of certain parts of the gym. We are still in a Pandemic figuratively and want to make sure that as a paying customer, my gym should be very hygienic and clean.
In the locker rooms, the shower and bathroom floors need to be scrubbed down, also there needs to be a person making sure people are taking off their shoes in the sauna room. Even though there is a sign, many people ignore it. And the times I have wanted to use the hot tub it is very dirty. I think these few things would make a world of difference and prevent others from catching any diseases. What is also needed is a good manager to check members out. You guys need a cleaner man for locker room.
Thank you,
Sincerely concerned Member
Been going there for a few years and it got really bad now I hate it there really considering leaving
Got a day pass for $25 to be there for 20 minutes.the sauna doesn’t work properly and weights all over the gym. The manager Brenda wouldn’t refund the $25 unless I got a membership. What a scam.
