24 Hour Fitness, San Jose CA

9pm on Wednesday. People just walk in without checking in. Why do I even pay for membership? It’s a free gym apparently. 11/15/23 someone stole all the pins to the machines so they are useless. This place is so ghetto! 1/8/24 gang fight 9pm.

I like this gym, but they should fix the broken machines more often. For instance, some of the cable machines have a messed-up cable, and they haven't been fixed (calibrated for cable tension) in a long time.

Most disgusting change rooms and urinals I’ve seen at a gym. Every stall had a wet puddle at the bottom, gum, and unflushed yellow stuff. They really need to do a better job cleaning. This is a recurring theme in 24s in the south bay.

1) THEY TAKE WAY TOO LONG REPAIR THE BROKEN MACHINES. 2) They run out paper towels very often. 3) The water faucets seems broken since not too much water comes out from them. 4) THEY HAVE A SQUAT RACK WITH MISSING BAR HOLDERS (see photo). 5) They don't often clean the toilets. 6) Many times there's is missing toilet paper. 7) Many machines missing adjustment screw knobs (see pictures). 8) No soap for washing hands as they often run out. 9) They also run out of disinfectant water sprays. 10) Last comment, Many times it's really packed with people. So they have a lot of subscriptions so they have money but they are being stingy in not taking care of the items mentioned above.

24 hour is totally a scam- broken and old equipment, dirty floors and women restroom, overcrowded and rude employees.

This place is a dump
Dirty lockers, water fountains never work. Pins for all the machines are missing so you have to bring your own pin to use machines and they're making money, this gym is aways busy.
Also broken glass all over the parking lot so cars are getting broken into all the time, be careful.
I have my lock on my locker pried off and my wallet stolen and the people at the front desk didn't even seem to care.
Can't recommend this gym at all

This fitness is sucks you can work out here they take the screws out of the machines you can lift you have to bring your own screwdriver so you’ll be able to work out the machines if you tell the staff they even tell you just bring your own tool I mean we pay so much a big amount and they’re not able to fix their machines. They should be able to do something. Don’t mind going here it’s ghetto.

A lot of the machines are missing the pins to hold the weights, you can’t even get a proper workout routine in here unless you use free weights or do cardio.

The exercise machines are missing the stick inserts for a good couple of weeks at least, and can’t use the machines anymore. Staff does not care as they’re not concerned. Everyone is complaining. This is bad. Also bath showers run out of soap all the time. Last time the swimming trunk dryer machine was out. Bad quality and work by these people.

I've been on 24 for over a year. And now I live near this gym and it is the scruppiest of all the gyms I know. Very dirty. Today I came to exercise and it turns out that no machine has the pin or screw to adjust the weights or separating screw. You must LEAVE THE KEYS TO THE CAR AND THEY LEND YOU AN OALER, I went to the reception and reported this and the person who was there told me THAT UNTIL THE OTHER WEEK THEY WILL PUT THEM INTO THE MACHINES. IT REALLY IS A SHAME TO PAY $54 a month for this bad service. I put one star because you can't be poor any less. The sauna and jaccusi is a pig. And I have photos I'll see if I can upload them

Broken machines that take months to fix and staff are late for almost an hour to open the gym.

Management should be ashamed of themselves for the condition of the spa, showers, etc.

I just got a membership and went to a class there so I decided to use the spa after. It was so vile and disgusting that even though I took a shower after I couldn't stop feeling gross all day!

This 24 on McKee was so disgusting that I almost demanded all my money back but I decided to go to my closest gym and check on that one and it was clean.

My closest 24 even posts when it closes for maintenance, twice a week! I did not see anything posted at this gym and when I asked an employee said once a week but he didn't know when. It does not look like it's once a week, does not look like it's been done in a very long time, but then again it's a very busy gym. So if it really is being done once a week or twice a week then that's not enough for this gym! SO GROSS!

I mean 24 hour fitness gyms are not exactly the Ritz but for God's sakes at least be sanitary!

It makes me wonder when I'm on vacation or out of the area what am I going to run into with other 24-Hour Fitness gyms? Why don't these gyms have the same standards?

I find it ridiculous that there are not maintenance standards for all the 24's. If there are standards and they are following them (which I doubt) then the standards need to be increased for a bigger gym or changed.

For God's sake if you just wipe off the scum off the tiles once or twice a day it probably wouldn't build up like that.but something needs to be done that's not sanitary!

In addition, the shower floors are vile with clumps of hair everywhere! Do they clean that every day? If so, that's not enough! The showers are disgusting!

Plus the bathing suit ringer didn't work. How long has that been broken? When is it going to get fixed? I really don't have much confidence in management regarding that or anything else.

PS in the picture, it isn't even the worst area. A guy was leaning against the worst slimy area. I want vomit just thinking about that.

I think I'm about done with this location, it's always packed, something is always broken the men's room is disgusting. There are better gyms out there.

Place is ok. 24 hr fitness use to be better a decade or two ago. Seems like the crowd is changing and overall quality of the place also.

Equipment is okay. Cleanliness of the facility can be better. This is dust on and under machines showing me lack of care or cleaning. Locker rooms are not kept sweep or clean. You are better than this. Staff is friendly.

This is a good gym, not awesome, but good.
There's plenty of cardio machines you can work on, just make sure you wipe them before you use them because not everyone cleans the handles of the machines after their use, and I've seen water marks on the machines handles and cup holders before, wondering if it was water or sweat. Some cardio machines makes a loud clicking sound, I don't know what it is, but it sounds annoying, especially if you think about what other people are hearing around you. Half star.
This gym is usually crowded, but sometimes it's not. I figured that on Mondays it's the most busy and on the weekends it's the most empty. And the gym usually starts filling up around 5 to 6 pm. I just go at the most empty times I know and it always works! One star.
The people here are nice, but some do need to think about what others see around them, because one time I was on the treadmill and someone in front was using a weight equipment was viewing almost naked ladies on Snapchat, I think other people saw it, too. 3/4 star.
The staffs here are nice, they provide the informations i need, they just need to work on being alert, because most of the time when I walk in or walk out, they're almost always chatting to each other. I do understand why they're mostly chatting, sometimes it's not busy, and I know sometimes people do not need instructions from them to enter the gym, and it's absolutely normal to talk to each other when bored! 3/4 star.
Now about the bathrooms, if you read reviews on here, you've probably learned that it's disgusting, which I do agree! There's strange smells in lockers, dirty dried water prints on the floor, trash spilling out around trash cans, your socks start to smell weird after you've stood on the floor (I only know this because my gym bag started smelling weird). Despite all this dirtiness, when the staffs actually clean it, it's nice and shiny! But I do not know how often they do it because I've only seen it clean a few times when I go to the gym, about 25% of the time it's clean, but not really clean but clean enough to not be disgusted by it. Half stars.
Even though I rated it as a 3 1/2 stars, I was tempted to lower it to a 3. But I know how hard it is to keep a business going. You got to pay electricity bills, hire honest and hard-working staffs, fix equipments from wearing out, and more to keep this gym going. So I raised it to a four stars.

That gym was so nice at one time clean, new equipment now it’s so disappointing the minute you walk in, dirty lookers old machines and not enough weight to work with, it has a lot of potential but they don’t make it a great gym

- Sauna and steam room many people enter wearing shoes that do not take off up to 80/100 (NOT Healthy).
- The bathroom (Man) is very limited, damaged 2-3 rooms have not been repaired for more than 5 months and very dirty lack of people to clean.
- New members need to have guidance and policy so that they can understand more how to use the spa, swimming pool and steam rooms.
- Management need to know more about Health issues.

Friendly staff but gym is way too overcrowded. Benches and machines are broken and management takes forever to make repairs, for the amount of members this gym has repairs should be done quickly.

Rude manager. Not really clean showers, dangerous wet floor in locker room, dirty swimming pool. I don't recommend go there. Other locations of 24h fitness are more preferable
