555 East American Steakhouse reviews
14Excellent service. Very high prices for average wine and food. Too much oil on some of the dishes. Seems like the convention customers drive up demand. I suggest shopping around.
First time here since they were Lombardos. Had a 5pm reservation on Saturday but had to wait 20 minutes before being seated. Server was pleasant & decor was nice. A little noisy. Thought the service was slow (took nearly 30 minutes for our entree). Liked the wine & garlic mashed but was disappointed with the 16 oz ribeye. Have never seen one so thin (center was about thick as a McD’s 1/4 pounder, edges were thinner than my cell phone). Costco’s are much thicker. Asked for “medium “ but it was closer to med-well. Flavor was OK but lots of chewy parts. I like a little char but these edges were pretty much burned. Probably should have sent it back. Really expected better for $59. Not sure if we’ll return. Definitely won’t order the ribeye again
My local favorite steakhouse! Never disappointed beautiful restaurant and bar! The food and drinks are always delicious!
The most incredible steak I've ever had in my life. I ordered the ribeye medium rare and it was done perfectly. Server was very attentive but not intrusive, and had just the right amount of humor. I think his name is Ryan? Tall guy. Anyway, I had a fantastic time! If I ever come back to LA, I'd come back for sure.
My husband and I have been coming to "The 5" as we call it for 10+ years and it never disappoints! We introduced some friends to this amazing restaurant last night and had Raymond as our server, he was new to us but made us all feel as though we had known him for years! So personable and funny, he had us cracking up all night and took such good care of us! We will definitely request to be in his section the next time we come back! The food is just as exceptional as the service! You will not be disappointed!
The filet was really good. I ordered it medium and I got a medium! Plus it was just the right amount at 8oz. I loved how it came with one side of potato, that was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't impressed with the presentation of the food, but I don't really mind. He got the ribeye but I liked my filet better. Service was great. Michael our server was awesome.
We ordered the butter cake but it was taking too long. We tried to cancel it because we had a show to catch. But they still gave it to us to go free of charge. The manager even came to our table to deliver it and apologize. That was above and beyond he really didn't need to do that And that's why they get a 5.
Great ambiance, dim lights and dark wood and a pianist. Great service as you would expect from a nice restaurant. Try the dry aged cuts, they're worth it.
The bone in rib-eye was outstanding, delicious, tender and well flavoured. It will make your mouth water at first taste. Our server was awesome, great recommendations... As the terminator once said "I'll be back! "
All was great until entree course, then it feel apart. Side of spinach arrived 10 minutes after entree and was way over salted. Then to top it off, when busser cleared table a steak knife slipped off a plate and hit my 10 year old son in the head. Not a lite knife. No apologies. Not a memerable experience.
555 is always a good steakhouse option in Long Beach. Ambience is nice, steaks are solid, and the oysters are always on point. I would expect them to have a better selection of whiskey/bourbon, but maybe that's just my preference. Service hasn't been as good the last couple of times I've gone, but with the current labor shortage I don't hold that against them. Overall I'd continue to recommend this place for a nice lunch or dinner.
By far one of the best steakhouse experiences I've ever had and I've been to plenty upscale steakhouses my server made this experience Beyond spectacular his name was Ray I highly recommend you ask for him
The food was excellent! The service was top notch! I definately recommend this place for great night out!
Was brought here for my surprise bday dinner and ot was our first time dining here. Unfortunately, we were slightly underwhelmed. The food took a long time to get to us, and my sea bass waa too salty and the mashed potatoes tasted like they had been sitting out. The steaks the guys has were more rare than medium rare and the was grainy in taste. The chocolate souffle desert was not really a souffle but rather a hard lava cake. Unfortunately, it did not live up to what we heard about it. I give it 3 stars because the calamari was good and so was service.
Delicious food - definitely get the Baked Goat Cheese! This is more of a lively atmosphere. I reccomend coming with a group. If you are wanting something intimate and romantic this may not be the place. Still a great place for a date night though. Service was great and attentive.
