5616 Bay St Garage, Emeryville CA

Bay Street Emeryville replaced their working parking system with an even worse one. The old system you take the ticket, pay the ticket at the pay station or on exit - it was very simple. New system bombards you with 3 different options for paying, and they really want you to download their specific app. I don't need or want yet another redundant app on my phone for parking at one specific place.

After an hour shopping, I paid for my hour of parking via text message. But then I noticed someone had already put a parking violation on my windshield! Guess I was supposed to pay IMMEDIATELY after parking? How the heck am I supposed to know exactly how long I'm going to park before I finish parking? I hate the new system, I hate the profit-scamming company, and I'm not going back to Bay Street. That neighborhood has been going down since COVID and it's the height of stupidity for them to make parking MORE difficult when we have so many other better options in other neighborhoods like Walnut Creek.

Went to a pizza shop at the mall with my friends and witness two employees from Parksmart treat the cashier like a couple of Karen’s! They practically made the cashier cry while she profusely apologized to them, one had a mask and the other didn’t. The one who had one was egging the one without a mask on to keep treating the cashier terribly! Is this how all employees of Parksmart act? Shame on this place and shame on both those girls that gave the pizza shop employee such a difficult time.

Stayed for 30min free parking but wanted to stay 1 extra hour to shop… their $3 minimum covering up to 0-2 hours but I can’t even top off just 1 extra hour to shop comfortably. That’s criminal.

Terrible parking garage. Parksmart employees ticketed my vehicle while in the employee parking area. You cant even park close to your job location without the parksmart security trying to fine you 30$.

Don't forget to prepay. Oh wait the machines don't work and the site doesn't load. Budget about 10 minutes after parking to figure out how to pay, and make sure you have your space number and plate number depending on what works on the end.

Really bad pay system. Accidently paid $3 for a different parking slot due to the computer lagging and skipping screens after being unresponsive to touching the screen.

PAY IN ADVANCE

We didn’t see the part of the sign that is partially COVERED that says PAY IN ADVANCE. And who knows how long one is going to shop. Just let people pay at the end like every other parking garage in the USA. Paid on the way out. Saw the ticket on the car after we paid for $30. Will not be returning to Emeryville ever again.

This place is horrible for parking especially when it comes to payment. The website they send you to pay does not load/work after entering the card information. It just spins and spins and after you finish your business at the movies you find a ticket for $30. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Have to pay beforehand via the app, or they try to scam you to pay $30 day rate regardless of how long you’ve been there

A horrible confusing nightmare. Only Went to the movies and a $30 ticket was issued to me an hour before my time expired. No parking stub was issued, no receipt was issued.machine had very poor directions. To dispute I was told to write a letter. Doesn't help to call them. I will not be returning. Bay St.can do better.

Worst pay system ever it is an absolute scam. The only way to see how to pay is on the back side of some poles that you can't see the sign unless you look carefully or you are leaving. The writing on the poles are small white words on a light yellow background. It is an absolute scam do not park there.

Worst place to park came to watch a movie thinking I can pay for parking when I come out like back then nope got a 30 dollar all day parking ticket Givin to me on my windshield never coming back

The most confusing, difficult to use payment system. You are required to prepay or you will be ticketed, though it doesn’t say that anywhere. Very confusing experience and made me not want to come back. Needs better signage and a more convenient payment system.

I used to like visiting Bay St, but the new parking payment app is an awful experience. Buggy, black on dark grey entering credit card info, and you have to decide in advance how long you want to stay
