Used the texting method to pay for parking and they still gave me a citation. Was able to appeal it online, but asked for a discount code or something for next time to compensate me for my wasted time and anxiety. Nothing. So I'd just use the machine if I were you. I had a feeling that would happen too which is why I took screen shots of my confirmation.
12$ for 4 hours good deal and 14$ for 10 hours. Fills up quick but best location parking for gas lamp
This is an uncovered parking lot at the southeast corner of 7th Ave and Market St. It's very easy to access from either 7th Ave or 8th Ave. I parked here on Friday for the Comic-Con during Thanksgiving weekend. You first park your car and then pay for parking at the kiosk. You'll need to enter in the license plate during payment. It was a convenient location as from here, it was just a short walk over to the Convention Center. However, it was a flat $25 to park here. I think that's quite steep for uncovered parking, but all lots in the downtown area have their prices jacked up when the Comic-Con is in town.
Best parking area! Super affordable and reasonable. Know your license plate when you pay. There’s so much food around here! You do have to walk a block or two but super worth it. I was here for 4-5 hours. Definitely coming back to this parking lot since I want to try all the food nearby! You will see a lot of people walking around though.so do still put valuable stuff away or carry it with you if you don’t feel like it’s safe in the car.
This parking lot was just fabulous. I parked here and rolled me up a big joint and medicated. I had a designated driver because it's against the law to operate a motor vehicle while intoxicated and marijuana (even though it's legal) can still get you a DUI, just like alcohol so stay safe out there people and know the laws because theres a ton in California.
