Wholesale Bakery Abule reviews
16My daughters did the ancestry thing and my eldest is now OBSESSED with our Nigerian heritage! She has begun cooking Nigerian foods so it got me curious and Google didn't lead me astray. This is my first experience with Nigerian food (cooked by a native-Nigerian) and I am VERY happy with the experience. I asked the young lady at the register lady at the register to help me build my meal around Fufu and Jollof rice because that's the only thing I know, and she was an EXCELLENT guide! Every bite of this chicken was flavorful and delicious and the Jollof rice is INSANE! I was expecting more heat as my only reference was my daughter's version. This had some heat after several bites, but nothing uncomfortable. As recommended by the hostess, pairing the meal with this interesting malt drink rounded everything out quite nicely! I was maybe a bit ambitious in my ordering, but I am excited to try the fufu soup at home. Will defs be back to sample more of the excellent food in this quaint little hidden gem
There were few places open Christmas Eve around me, but this was one of them. I'm glad that was the case because I loved the food and now want to try more things from Abule, now that I know about it's existence!
Delicious food and incredibly friendly staff. Easy parking. Loved how they taught us about the foods and will definitely be back!
Food was okay but service was terrible. They had one guy handling everything up front- he was waiter, cashier, curbside delivery guy- everything. We went for lunch and were there for hours. We had to wait almost 20 minutes before we could order then it took about 40 before just my food came out. An hour later we were fed up and readybto go when he told me he could prepare one of our dishes. Then I got home with my to go and found they were not as I ordered.
Smells super bad, had bugs up all my food everywhere, food tastes bad and just dirty overall.
So I came to pick up food that was prepaid and left because there was roaches everywhere inside of this dirty and disgusting restaurant. This restaurant had the nerve to counteract my dispute for food I did not pick up due to a HEALTH VIOLATION. Whatever, keep the $40 you desperate disgusting dirty scammers. This “restaurant” will be reported and shut down. It’s clearly just a crack house disguised as an African restaurant. Embarrassing and shameful.
The Egusi was delicious however the chicken was tough on some parts and the jollof was also delicious but dry.
There are roaches literally dying on the floor as you stand there. Not to mention the horrific smell of dead roaches. We had no idea about there roach problem since we ordered online. Our order was supposed to be ready once we arrived but it wasn’t and honestly thank God because I would not eat from there because of their smelly roach infestation.
Wow the first time ever trying west African food or even restaurant
This place was the absolute worst
Ok let me start with in no way did this place look like a heathy restaurant
Tried to overlook and ordered anyway
The food goat was tuff and I dont even now what to say about what I got not not at all worth it
Can I give it no stars
Disgusting and food was not fresh. Got the egusi soup with fufu, and jollof with plantains and was so excited because i’ve been wanting to try but took a couple bites and threw the rest away.waste of 40$
Want here for the first time since they've been under new ownership. My nigerian boyfriend really enjoyed the food. The portion size is small compared to other Nigerian restaurants in Southern California but overall we were satisfied with our food (jollof, plantain, and fish) and will definitely be back soon!
Glad to see a Nigerian restaurant in San Diego! I had a good experience here! A couple notes:
1. On maps, it says closes at 7pm, however the restaurant is open till 8 pm (on some days or most days)
2. Call ahead of time, especially if you want delicacies that takes time to prepare
3. They also offer pickup options
4. The server, Gaius is such a nice person. And he’d help ensure that you have a good meal experience! He was kind to get a meal prepared for me
5. You might need to wait a bit for food to be ready! So don’t go when you’re too hungry!
The restaurant also has a mini store, for purchasing food items!
Overall! Good experience! Thanks Abule! And thank you Gaius
1st time eating Fufu and okra soup, and I tell you my eyes almost popped out of my head on the first bite. Food was clean and full of FLAVOR. The Jollof rice was hittin something serious too, matter fact they got my Ghana friends beat. Definitely bout to be a regular
Hands down the best place I have eaten for African food in San Diego. Great customer service. The food was full of flavor mouth watering. I think I went two days in a row. I don’t normally leave reviews but this was a must.
Love Nigerian food and all but I don’t think egusi is made out of lizards, if I’m correct. I was eating my egusi and had a soft, scaly piece of skin in my mouth. Spat it out and sure enough it looked like lizard skin. Started to dissect my food and there’s tiny bones. Not sure if I want to eat here anymore. I’ve looked up different types of ways to make egusi and there were no recipes that included lizards.
I pleased to see west african culture represented here in san diego. If you eat here its what we call " a hole in the wall". The food I ate was okay, but it wasn't what I wanted. The plantains were old. The jolof rice was a bit over seasoned. The beef was cooked well.
