AC4 Fitness, Santa Barbara CA

I have had nothing but attitude from the customer service staff at the santa barabara location. Comepletely dismissive and rude any time there has been an issue or I had a question. Refusal to even offer apologies for their mistakes- mis-entered my card information 2 months in a row; and harrassed my on the phone and in person regarding my payments, when the card wasn't even mine! I gave them 3 cards and they couldn't get any applied to my account accurately. Reasonable membership fee = terrible service.apparently. Not one breath or offer of apology for any of the incidents - unacceptable! I work in customer service management. It's not rocket science to hire and train helpful staff members.

The BEST gym in town since they opened in 2012. Two locations, both with new equipment and immaculately clean.

After shopping around I chose AC4. Best value, wide variety of equipment, helpful staff & certified Green business.

This is a great, locally owned gym that's offers just what I need. If you don't need fitness classes or a spin studio, this is the perfect option (which also costs HALF of what Golds charges). This gym also features private changing rooms, private showers, hydro massage beds, and tanning booths. Although it's a smaller gym, there are plenty of treadmill, ellipticals, and stationary bikes.

Clean facility and friendly staff. Membership is affordable especially compared to other gyms in town.

Fantastic customer service, great at explaining things, answering questions.overall very informative. After signing up they give you a quick tour that shows you everything you need to know. Facilities are well laid out and are accessible to even beginners. Machines are great quality and overall everyone who works out here is very courteous and respectful of the workout equipment and fellow exercisers. Membership is well worth the small fee each month and 24 hour access is super convenient. They also allow you to put membership on hold for $5 a month with is great. There is an online portal where you can manage your membership including the aforementioned freezes, also very convenient. Gym members can always find parking too! (And the AC4 shirt is super comfy!)

I'm a newer arrival to Santa Barbara and did research on local gyms before I settled on AC4. The YMCA was packed at the time I'd work out.and other gyms were too expensive. As I also train outdoors, I don't need an expensive gym for the days I end up working out inside. I like simple, clean, 'work out and go' kinda place and this is it. I have never had to wait for a machine, even the rowing machine there is only one of.

The facility is clean (the staff change towels to wipe down the machines with at 7 PM sharp), the staff are nice and the 24/7 access is a unique feature I have taken advantage of. Bad Friday night date? What's better solace than to hit the treadmill at 10 PM to prep the body for something better? Note: Bring your own lock - this place is minimalist so there is not a big locker room and you either change in bathroom or shower room. It works out OK, trust me. Oh and spring for the extra $5/month and use the water massage tables- they are the best treat after working out.

I go to their SB location, they got friendly staff, and the gym is clean and got all one needs. If there was a competition between SB gyms these guys would be the top dog

AC4 is my favorite gym in Santa Barbara! The convenience of 2 locations and 24/7 access in unparalleled.

What a lovely health club. It's exactly what you need in a gym without the expensive price tag. No fuss gym. No loud grunting weight trainers. They have fantastic like new spin bikes. A great weight machine circuit. Always cold water machine to fill up your water bottle. Best of all they are open 24 hrs.

Definitely a great spot. I love that it's mostly quiet people focusing on their work out. Instead of taking photos and yelling every time they lift. Clean and friendly appearance as well as a knowledgeable staff.

Ac4 Fitness is the best gym in town on MANY levels! There have all the equipment you need for any type of workout (weights and cardio), the staff and trainers are always knowledgeable and very helpful, and the facility is spotlessly clean. You can access both clubs 24-7 so you can workout at your convenience

I did a lot of shopping around before I pre-paid for a year at AC4. They have more equipment than many places that charge more and by paying a year (conveniently on my credit card) I did not have to pay the sign up fee. Works out to be the best deal in Santa Barbara. I love the 24 hour access too.
