Academic Coffee reviews
18 Not as mindblowing as I hoped it to be. Went there with high expectations (look at the review). Funky and cool interior. High ceilings. Good patio. All great.
Latte was quite good but not at the caliber of the likes of Andy Town. Other drinks were okay.
Although good coffee, I'd say a bit more hype than substance.
There is no MENU up on the wall. If there are people standing in line, waiting to pay or order, the only menu is on the table in front of them at the counter. Very very inconvenient and bad design for new customers!
5 out of 5! Coffee is amazing and foam is super smooth!
It’s very hard to find a decent coffee place like this in South Bay!
Staying next door at the convention center suites and inn (great place) and this coffee shop was recommended by Nick. Nice atmosphere, congenital staff which were very welcoming! And the coffee and pastries are delicious! Will be back!
My favorite local to me coffee shop. Great coffee and service. Fresh pastries (both savory and sweet). Limited seating outdoors.
Atmosphere, employees is very nice, coffee and croissants tastes great. I got some roasted beans as well I will add review about them as well
Small and inviting shop. Good, well balanced cold brew in a sunny, bright and clean setting.just how I like it:) The Wi-Fi and AC are a great bonus. Inside I saw a family and people working off their laptops, while friends chatted by the table outside. This was a perfectly refreshing stop after a stroll on a hot day. It made a great first impression and I'm looking forward to stopping by again with others.
A bit crowded and busy during weekend morning when we visit.ordered an oat latte and a pandan latte, they were both great! A bonus point here is that they partner with hash n dash sandwiches as a pop up on the weekend which makes perfect breakfast with your coffee or drinks. Love the vibe of outside seating.
Great cafe to sip your drink and work. We ordered hojita latte (matcha drink with flowery taste) it was perfect not too sweet and pandan latte which was pretty good too.
Great latte! They come in cute containers and taste delicious! The indoor seating area is okay but can get crowded in the mornings. The everything croissant tasted amazing as well!
Good place to have breakfast and coffee at downtown San Jose. Pastry is good too. Parking around on street is relatively easy to find. Overall great experience.
Academic coffee is a nice little downtown coffee shop, one of the few I rotate between when I ride my bike downtown on weekends. This place though has a nice thing going for it besides it's good selection of coffee, most weekends Hash n' Dash partners with them to set up shop right outside, so you can get one of their delicious hashery sandwiches with sausage and cheese and egg, and they are pretty damn good and go well with a latte (check out the photos).
There is plenty of seating here, sitting inside which can sometimes be a little crowded because of the line that forms, but outside they have a nice patio and additional parking in a special area beneath a tree alongside the road. This ladder area is also where Hash n Dash is set up and will cook their fair right in front of you.
The coffee shop also has plenty of pastries and they seem to have a pretty healthy selection. The baristas are always friendly and very efficient serving the customers.
I personally enjoy sitting on the patio near the tree and just watching the people chat or walk by, and it is very easy for me to place my bike.
Coffee and people really good here and every time I order my coffee the way I like it they drop the ball. Is shots direct into my cup too much to ask and never get? Update May 2023 Asked for a espresso poured straight into cup… response “sorry that’s against our policy” wth? I am done. Nirvana Soul is my, as of today, my new spot!
Their latte art was great. But the drinks tasted pretty mediocre. The espresso was disappointing. I loved their cute ceramic cups tho!
Phenomenal coffee and drinks here. Staff is amicable and local owners are fantastic folks. Grabbed a delicious honey jalapeño latte!
Really good drip coffee. Medium roasted and well made. Decent sidewalk seating area with trees and shade. Barista wasn't friendly unfortunately.
I always get the cinnamon latte and ube cookie (if there's one left) and it's always so good. The staff and other customers are always friendly and there's just a good vibe here in general.
Good coffee in a very hip setting, good for people watching and sipping coffee with AC to beat the humidity and heat.
