Sifu Evans is great with children. Our son has learned some real fighting skills. (Kicking, punching, blocking, falling) Nobody will ever pick on our son, as he won't hesitate to defend himself now. The class is fun, but it's hard work. When our son gets home, he's tired. It's nice to have a safe place to drop off our son, and go run some errands. There's even a big bench, to sit on, if we want to watch a few minutes of class at the end. We love Jeet Kune Do Sciences.

I’ve been around martial arts most of my life. Never have I ever met a man more dedicated to his craft with a solid foundation of what actually works. Damon is a thoughtful and patient instructor. His school is welcoming and his students friendly.

I became a world championship fighter as a teenager and fast forward when I wanted to get back into martial arts I wasn’t sure where to go in Sonoma County until I discovered Sifu Evans. He is not only knowledgeable in his skill set, but he also understands exactly how to train you from the basic learner to advanced. I trained with only the best and I consider him one of them.

I’ve been training martial arts for many years, that includes training with firearms, different styles of martial arts and different instructors/schools, so in the start of that journey, I used common sense and logic in that perspectives, without any real training knowledge or skills to compare with but to what I knew and what I wanted it took 3-4 years to figure it out. The most important aspects in training is to ASK QUESTIONS! Don’t be afraid to question the instructor, question the question. Is the technique/move LOGICAL? PRACTILCAL? Or REALISTIC? Remember there’s NO set Conditions, NO RULES on how some bad people can attack, hurt, and try to kill you! YOU have to make your own honest assessment on how your training is going, if you’re not getting the answers, respectively move on to another instructor/school. Train safe and have fun while training, Keep an open mind, there’s many other great styles of martial arts so don’t limit yourself. This is my opinion based on hands-on training, from private lessons, seminars, and visiting/checking out and training with other schools. There’s many different martial arts schools out there but handful of good ones and if you live within the neighborhood of Sifu Damon Evans The ACADEMY of JEET KUNE DO SCIENCE then you’ll be at the right place for LOGICAL, PRACTICAL, and REALISTIC training! Remember martial arts training is a Endless Journey!

One of the all around best places to train. Sifu Evans is well versed in many aspects of martial arts training and knows how to bring out the best in his students. Whether through group classes or Privates, you can can definitely find something to suit your goals. Highly recommend!

Best place in the north bay to learn self defense, I highly recommend AJKDS to everyone of all ages, beginner or seasoned pro. You could search this globe 2 times around and you will never find anybody as competent or as knowledgeable as Damon Evans. He is always applying facts with common sense in everything he does. I will have to go on a Podcast or something to explain the 6 or 7 pages of information that I could give you to prove my point. Whether you want to learn self defense or be a prize fighter in a ring, you should go to Academy of JKD Sciences.

This is hands down the most practical application of self-defense I've ever come across. I didn't realize till I joined the school but everywhere else I was just training to hit pads hard. If you're looking for practical application then this is the place for you.

I took almost two years of private woman’s self defense lessons with Sifu Damon Evans at the AJKDS and learned so much. It was practical, progressive, and specialized training. He even took the time to work with the potential dangers I could face in my career as a massage therapist. I really appreciated his talks on situational awareness as our first line of defense, and instilling that we should be prepared but not paranoid. He was able to adapt our training routine when I became pregnant and we were able to safely continue my lessons throughout most of my pregnancy. Himself and his school hold such a wealth of knowledge and I consider what I learned there invaluable life skills. I highly recommend training with AJKDS.
