ActivCare at Rolling Hills Ranch has been a blessing for our family. Mom's condition was progressing rapidly to where we did not have the capacity or knowledge to continue caring for her at home.
We are grateful to the staff and activities at ActiveCare that has done a wonderful job at helping Mom feel calm, safe and beautiful.
The beautiful garden setting allows Mom to sit outside in the fresh air and take small walks on the path, something she always loves to do.
Thank you ActivCare for taking good care of our Mom.

I have nothing but good things to say about ActivCare. My husband spent the last 6 months of his life in their very caring and capable hands. I was there visiting at least 2 days every week and was able to observe the caregivers in action under all sorts of challenging situations. To a person they were always calm and treated the residents with calmness and courtesy.
My husband was definitely declining rapidly and I am very thankful that the staff at ActivCare was helping him with whatever he needed. I also received updates from the administration and the nurses as needed which I very much appreciated.
Yes, I would highly recommend Activcare at Rolling Hills Ranch to anyone who needs the support that they provide there. As the name suggests.the staff does everything in their power to keep your loved one comfortable and as active as possible. Oh, meals are well prepared, presented, and plentiful too.
Definitely a 5 star memory care facility.

Mother with cognitive impairment entered the facility at age 98, leaving her own residence. There was almost immediate improvement in her physical health - weight gain, improved skin/complexion. She had previously been in noted physical decline. She was always satisfied with the staff with the exception of one minor incident which was dealt with by administration rapidly and satisfactorily. There was no issue about the meals which she took well and contributed to the weight gain. Staff was always pleasant, friendly and the facility clean and maintained. The nurse staff was attentive and always reported any health issue immediately arranging an MD visit or ER service if necessary. Moving a relative in is traumatic but that passed relatively quickly and mother adapted easily eventually to the point of not wanting to go out. In a difficult circumstance ActiveCare provided excellent support until the time of her passing. I do not hesitate to recommend the facility.

Gosh, where to begin! My father William, has been living and thriving at ActivCare Rolling Hills for more than a year now. He was residing at another assisted living/memory care facility in San Diego which met his needs for 3 years. His Alzheimers continued to progress leading to falls and behavioral issues which were no longer manageble there. We had to find Dad a new home which could meet his needs. After visiting several other places, many online due to COVID restrictions, we heard about Rolling Hills in passing. We made an appointment to visit and tour with Sophia and the rest is history.

My wife and I knew that day we wanted Dad to live there. I have said this many, many times over the past year. This has been our miracle, such a blessing for Dad and our family!

We were concerned that the extent of Dad's behaviors of dementia would rule him out for admission. Dad was evaluated thoroughly and within several days (It took a bit longer due to COVID testing at the time). We moved him into his new home.

From DAY 1 my father has thrived at Rolling Hills. Despite the relentless challenges and progression of an Alzheimers diagnosis, he is truly 'living' with the best quality of life that we could hope for ALL due to the staff and care he continues to receives 24/7!

From the moment he wakes up in the morning, they have him dressed and out of his room, into the big 'great room' where he can socialize, roam, participate in activities and eat until it's time to crawl into bed at the end of the day. The staff treats Dad with dignity, respect and love. They have become part of Dad's family; he trusts them. They have taken the time to understand his ways and they never give up trying to help him even at his most trying moments.

The Rolling Hills administration team led by BB Smith is hands on! They aren't hidden away is back offices somewhere. We often find them in the great room assisting the residents and socializing with them. They take the time to 'know' each resident. The care team is THE BEST! They truly perform a ministry caring for persons with all types of dementia and other cognitive issues. They approach each resident individually. The needs can change hour to hour and they meet this challenge. We are so blown away over and over at how they work as a team to give Dad and everyone the best quality of life possible on a daily basis.

The activities are endless and tailored to meet the needs of each resident. My wife and I have participated in several ourselves and have had a lot of fun!

It truly takes a solid team to keep Rolling Hills running so smoothly and professionally. Maintenance, Housekeeping, Nursing, Admin, Dietary, Activities. The Rolling Hills team ACROSS THE BOARD, make it happen!

I will conclude with this: Since Dad began living at Rolling Hills we can sleep solidly at night; enjoy time with friends, go out of town all the while having full confidence and trust in everyone that Dad is surrounded by at ActivCare of Rolling Hills. We are grateful beyond measure!

I couldn’t ask for a better place for my grandpa to be. My family always intended for my grandpa to have his final days in his home with multiple people in my family watch ing over him. Unfortunately heath complications and dementia issues made that no longer a possibility. Rolling Hills Ranch is the next best option. The level of care and interactions I’ve seen have put my mind at ease that my grandfather is well taken care of and while at first he was resistant to living there now it seems like he prefers it in many ways. None the less it still is a wonderful place for him to spend his final days.

This has been the best experience for our family in terms of my mothers growth & happiness. The staff is very thoughtful & attentive. I always get updates on my mother when I am not able to visit. The facility is very, very clean and fresh. Its really all about the staff. I toured at least (x8) different facilities prior to choosing Active care. My mother went from being all alone for the past (x3) years after my father died and now she is part of a community. She is happy, engaging & programing very well at Active Care. I do not have anything bad to say about Active Care, they are the best.:)

My father needed assisted living and we heard of ActivCare Rolling Hills Ranch. We contacted Sophia who was so kind, thoughtful and professional. She instantly took care of the assessments, paperwork and move in. I can’t say enough great things about Sophia, Bee Bee, Sam, Hazel, the nursing staff and care takers. They all made dad feel loved and cared for him like no other community. During my daily visits, it was wonderful to see his emotional and physical health improve. He seemed truly happy and was more engaged and lucid as time went by. We were kept updated with any medical concerns and they regularly communicated with dad’s physician. The team at ActivCare works together and regularly pitches in to help each other. Communication at the community is excellent and someone is always ready in reception to assist. Dad enjoyed the daily activities, bus trips and themed parties. I can honestly say that he was well taken care of.

Dad passed away at 93 and I know he was happy until the end. During the difficult time we are now experiencing with his loss, Bee Bee and Sophia are going above and beyond to help with final arrangements. We highly recommend ActivCare Rolling Hills Ranch to anyone who has a loved one that needs assisted living!

My experience with ActivCare started in March 2017 when I met with Sophia Anguiano to visit the location at 850 Duncan Ranch Road, Chula Vista, CA. When you are searching for a place to place your loved one it is a stressful experience. I remember how respectful Sophia was and how she helped us navigate the process and decision. I had visited other facilities, ones that were less expensive, but I chose ActivCare.

Why? I walked away feeling that they cared, the place was pristine, it appeared very safe and it was not big nor small. I like how they had a great room and all the wings met there, all the rooms were secured from others walking in. I could see on my initial visit how the staff was caring to the residents and how the staff managed and respected the residents.

Our story at ActivCare was not short, it lasted 4 years and 4 months. During that entire time my initial impression was continuously strengthened as I got to experience ActivCare with my mother.

I visited typically twice a week. I spent many hours there in the first 3 years with my mother in the great room, interacting with her and other residents and staff. I would also come and take my mother out to have lunch around Chula Vista, the staff always have Eva ready for me and off we went.

ActivCare would provide activities like a daily walk to the park nearby where we would walk and wheelchair there with the residents. They would also have special events for the residents too, I remember best the Hawaiian luau, great food, music and dancing show.

I was fortunate enough to be visiting when an emotional support miniature horse stopped by her room. My mother was so excited as she petted the horse and you could just see how it lifted her spirit.

The care and nursing team were always there for her during her entire tenure, they kept her fed, clean and healthy! They became her family and friends! There are many teams at ActivCare that support your loved ones! The maintenance team, they keep the place running, the housekeeping team, they clean and launder, the kitchen team, they prepare the meals according to their needs, the activity team, they help them pass the day and the management team, they make sure that the staff is there to take care of your loved one and uphold the expected standard of care.

My mother's time at ActivCare came to an end, the team was there to help her and me through the last weeks and days. The head nurse and her team, the care team along with management made sure the time my mother had left was quality and as peaceful as possible, they ensured I was there when my mother needed me most by being vigilant.

I am personally grateful to the staff at ActivCare, even after Eva’s departure, we shared hugs and tears as we shared our stories of her time there.

I fully recommend you consider ActivCare as a place for your loved one based on my personal experience. I always felt comfortable that my mom was in good hands. It is not an easy decision to place your loved ones in the hands of others.

To all at ActivCare I am thankful for your support over the last four years and this journey would have been more difficult without you all there.
