Adventures in Spanish Family Day Care

What may have been a great daycare at some point really seems to have gone downhill. They are very business oriented, which can be good, but unfortunately they have poor ethics. When Lia was giving us a tour, we didn't feel any warmth or affection from her, even for our child who was there, and she seemed more like a matter-of-fact kind of a person with no personal touch. We were not sure if she could provide a loving and nurturing environment for our child as red flags had started to show up immediately during the tour. The facility seems great though and they have a lot of activities and toys they engage the kids with.

Their communication is very poor when it came to securing a spot. When I spoke with them on the phone, I had explicitly told them that we needed the spot they had available next month. We scheduled a tour with the intention that we will see the daycare and reserve our spot. We had to postpone by a day due to another commitment but still made it clear that we wanted the spot. When we went for a tour, we were told that the spot was gone as someone else came in a day early and paid the deposit. Had they told us even once that they needed a deposit to secure the spot, we would've happily done so.

Despite that, we made an effort to secure the next available spot they had. I had been in constant communication with them, mostly texting, asking them how I can pay for it. When I finally told them that I'd be coming to pay and secure the spot, and sign the contract, guess what, they said they can't accommodate me anymore, probably because they gave the spot to someone else.

This put a sour taste in our mouth. If that's how they conduct business, where its all about money to them, no personal touch, and they couldn't care less about your child, I would just look elsewhere.

If you are reading this review, count yourself as one of the lucky ones to have found such an amazing daycare and hopefully you are able to get a spot! I cannot say enough great things about this daycare. My son started here at just a year old after having a very tough first year with health and eating issues. He had only been cared for by family and we weren’t sure if he would thrive in a daycare setting. He adjusted immediately and THRIVED. Lia loved him like one of her own and gave him all of the love, cuddles and extra care he needed to feel right at home! He went from being a fragile baby to a healthy, happy, kind and smart toddler all while attending this daycare. They teach social skills and Spanish lessons and my son has developed a true love of learning. We have had to leave Adventures in Spanish due to a recent move but Lia and Yayo will forever be part of my son’s family and we feel so blessed to have found such a loving place to care for our son.

Lia is very organized and easy to talk to. Her house is very clean and baby proofed. My daughter was able to converse in Spanish and teach us few words as well. Along with play time, she ensures lot of art and writing projects. She celebrates all events with so much of enthusiasm and kids always look forward celebrating them.

I would recommend this daycare for anyone looking!

My wife and I enrolled our daughter after moving into San Jose, during these tumultuous times. Lia is warm, welcoming, and kind, making her an excellent caregiver for our daughter and the other children attending. She provides organic, diverse, and homemade meals and snacks to the children. It was amazing to hear our daughter start speaking Spanish at home and to her grandfather after only a few weeks with Lia. We will be recommending her to anyone we may know with childcare needs! 5 stars all around!
