Affiliated Speech Pathology reviews
7The other reviews are right. I tried to make an appointment and the lady who answered the phone was very rude and unhelpful.
Extremely rude and unprofessional. They need to hire a new receptionist one who is willing to work with the patients without giving attitude because they needed to reschedule an appointment during these hard times
It is important to note that I have a degree in child Development. Also, before I had kids I completed my internship at Bakersfield College Child Development Center, worked at CSUB Child Development Center, a private preschool, and Head Start. I took my son here at 18 months. They assessed him and said there wasn't much for them to do until he turns 2 years of age. That gave me pause, but she gave me a few exercises to do at home until then so I didn't doubt her. I worked with my son as much as possible and had him re-reassessed shortly after his 2nd birthday. The best they could do for him was a 30 minute session once a week. We did this for a year. I asked, begged, pleaded for more or longer sessions. They said it was against their contract with my insurance. I called my insurance and they adamantly denied that saying it's up to the therapist. I read and re read my insurance benefits and no where is there a cap; it's all based on medical necessity. Finally, my son turned 3 and was evaluated by the school district. He was said to have a severe phonological delay. 25.00 a week for a year. It was a complete waste. I would really consider putting any child here. Management/ owner blows. I appreciate complete transparency in business especially when it comes to my child's health and education. Receptionist come across as snide and cold. Save your time money, I would suggest contacting Kern Regional and have your child assessed and if they do have delays in any areas of development they can provide your child services for free. My son got more out of that then affilated Speech. Kern regional works with verious specialists. They came out once or twice a week for for an hour. My son got more out of that! If I could rate them zero stars I would.
We saw Karen Kelly and she was FANTASTIC! The staff was wonderful to work with, very accommodating, and super helpful! The office was amazingly kid friendly, which kept my 2 year so thrilled he didn't want to leave. The office was also clean, well organized, and comfortable. We will return when it's time.
Front lady is suppose to be the office manager. She gave me a call because she forgot to collect or tell us of our copay. She was EXTREMELY RUDE and unprofessional! If that is the face of your business I would be embarrassed. I immediately dropped my child. Never have I ever been spoken or treated that way! Still waiting for one of the partner to give me a call back. It's a shame because my child really adored Miss Allison
The treatment I received was great! My therapist changed my life for the good! She taught me " knowledge is power ", I drove from cal city and I would do it again, If I could I would go back in a heartbeat, The things that were taught stay with me to this day I have to reinvent myself and move on. I now build model airplanes since this as close to a plane as I will get, and I can no longer do what I did as an aircraft mechanic & flight engineer.
My son received services here for about three months. About half way through those sesssions I had some concerns about how the therapist was working with my son, so I mentioned those concerns to the therapist and told her what I’d like to see in the next sessions. The therapist did not listen to my concerns. I called the owner three weeks in a row to talk about what I was concerned about and never recieved a call back. They made me feel that my concerns were not cared about, that they just gave up on my son, and didn’t care that we were unhappy with the services. I rarely write reviews but this concerns me greatly. I know there isn’t a lot of speech therapy offices in Bakersfield to choose from but I’d figure they’d want to keep all the clients they serve and strive to provide the best service. I was very disappointed. And I would encourage anyone needing these services to go elsewhere.
