A&J seafood shack reviews
14Food and service are great. The shrimp and veggies that come with the lobster are to die for. The beef sticks are so tender and juicy.
I had stir fried noodles which only has two shrimps, some pork and vegetables. The taste is very similar to Panda Express. Kind of disappointed. I also don’t like the environment.
Great seafood restaurant in the corner of Anaheim and Obispo. The parking here is VERY limited and small, so I suggest for you to park by Food 4 Less across the street. Seating is also limited and it is outside.
Ordered a Salt & Pepper Shrimp and Crispy Salmon plates.
The S&P Shrimp was great. Evenly battered and seasoned well. Shrimp was cooked well, too. I don't eat shrimp tails but they also batter theirs and it comes out soooo crispy and good. I gobbled it all up! It came with pickled cabbage and carrots and some jalapenos on the side.
The crispy salmon was also amazing. It is lightly battered but seasoned well. The salmon skin is sooo good and crispy. The salmon was flaky. It came with a mango salsa which could be their take on a papaya salad cuz this one is a bit spicy but refreshing. This also came with a fermented fish sauce on the side which enhanced the flavor of the salmon giving it that funky salty and sour punch.
Lastly the chicken egg roll is a bit basic. I could barely taste the chicken nor feel its texture. At least it's crispy and hot! It came with a basic sweet chili sauce. Save your money from this.
The rice they use is kinda like sushi or sticky rice. It's very soft and sticky but I didn't mind it.
Would come back to try other offerings.
A&J is an eatery, I always wanted to try. This was my 2nd visit and it didn't disappoint. The Grilled Beef sticks and Chicken Egg rolls was tasty 'asty! Every order is freshly cooked. This time around, I was looking forward to the Khmer sausage but they're sold out! Duma Ah Qua Ko! Haha
This was my first time here and the food was amazing! The service was fast and excellent. Took 10 mins to get our order. There was no line and staff were extremely friendly and efficient. No complaints at all. I ordered the chicken egg rolls, the fried salmon, and the beef stick sandwich and was very pleased with the quality, presentation and taste. Would 100% recommend. The price was very affordable and the restaurant was also very clean and organized.
Cute find, been wanting to try it for a while and finally had the chance.
We were surprised to see meat items on the menu and if you're coming for seafood, I suggest calling ahead to make sure they have what you are craving. They ran out of most seafood, it wasn't a problem for us though, we enjoyed the plates that we ordered. We had the salt and pepper shrimp and the pork dish. Well priced filling.
This might be my favorite restaurant in all of LA. Whenever people visit I take them here and then we take it to them Beach to eat. Garlic shrimp and crispy salmon with mango salsa is a must. Wings are incredible, great Thai tea. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
Grabbed the beef stick sandwich to go while in town. Hit all the right buttons: spicy, savory, tender beef, and fresh veggies.
I got the combo fried rice with shrimp chicken and chinese sausage. It had two shrimps and about five or six shrimp tails but no shrimp attached.it was greasy and not very appetizing.
Food is delicious. Only downside is horrible parking area and no place to eat inside. Had to enjoy my meal with a couple of flies
Food was fresh and delicious. Wait time for food was approx. 15 mins. Enjoyed the beef stick sandwich and garlic and pepper shrimp, it was really flavorful.
So I've been coming here for a few years now. The salt and pepper shrimp has always been a favorite. I ordered it this afternoon. I walked over with my son to pick it up, got home, and discovered it was made with butter shrimp and not whole head-on shrimp like it's supposed to be. If you're going to do that, give me a heads up first. Would have been nice.
Delicious garlic shrimp and Thai tea! Good portion as well, tho I hope they have more veggies on the side. The lady at the window is very friendly.
My first time here. I had the garlic shrimp. It was pretty good. Decent portion and cooked well. However, for the price, I didn’t think it was that great. I spent around $17 which is pretty steep (even given inflation) for a takeout window. The food tasted like farmed shrimp and the rice was rather cheap quality and too much of it compared with the toppings (basically just shrimp, a little sauce, and a smidge of pineapple).
