Akiko's Sushi Bar reviews
15 Very bad service. I don't recommend this restaurant. Dreadful
Wait too long. Deceiving customers. Too much to wait. For a terrible service. They told me every 10 minutes the service would be and wait more than 30 minutes and he doesn't like this service.
Small place that sends you to the basement to wash your hands. But the worst part is getting charged $9 for mediocre green tea. And twice over when asking for a refill. Not to mention that an 8-piece roll is really a regular 4-piece but cut twice over for micro size portions. I spent $169 (including tips) and left the place still hungry. I was visiting with my daughter and girlfriend and we all had a few orders in. If you plan on good food and at reasonable price, plenty to choose from in SF.
The bar is small with an intimate atmosphere. Owned by very japanese people, it offers fresh fish and excellent tastes.
6 stars are possible?
Phenomenal sushi rolls, although the chicken teriyaki was less than stellar - they used chicken breast instead of chicken thigh, so the meat wasn’t succulent and was actually dry.
I was excited for the restaurant because of the reviews. However, the Omakase was extremely disappointing.
Great sushi; some of the best salmon nigiri I've had in a long time. Very small restaurant (seats maybe 15 people, max) but it has a nice vibe. Friendly staff.
I had two handrolls and both were amazing but I can't give 5* when food is expensive. Gotta temper that supply and demand or they'll keep charging more
Its a small restaurant with 4 tables and a bar sitting, but what it lacks in seating spaces is made up by the good food and service, a good variety of choices. The freshness of the meats and excellent tastes.
Looking for good sushi, this is the place to go.
Sushi was tasty.
Beer selection was great, tried both the winter and autumn Japanese ale.
Tiny restaurant added to the atmosphere.
Fresh fish as always, great service friendly staff very quaint. One of my must stops while in Frisco
Excellent place! Small, cozy and serves some of the best rolls I’ve had in the city! Get the lion king roll.
Very cramped and uncomfortable. Ordered handroll and a roll. Handroll took 40 minutes and then waited another 20min for the roll. Both handroll and the roll were the worst I've had in quality and quantity.
We absolutely loved the food. Expensive but excellent quality. Service was good but we were ticked off by the fact that, after we waited for 25 minutes outside in the cold, a party of 6 showed up right before we were showed in. They put us at the bar where we felt crammed. They split the party of 6 into two of the three recently freed up tables (that could seat 4 each). Immediately after that, a party of 4 showed up and was seated at the remaining free table. We felt that being there first and having waited such a long time we should have been given preference and they should have put two of them at the bar. We certainly would not have minded sharing a table with strangers. My mom had to keep her bag and coat on her lap throughout the meal and it definitely affected much she enjoyed the experience.
A real unexpected surprise. Stumbled by accident, cute little place with great vibes. Set at the bar and got served by the chef. Was a really nice experience. The dishes were fresh and lovely.
Great sushi and service! The best salmon skin roll! The place is really small so sitting is limited.
