Tashreeb here is probably one of the best dishes I've ever had in my life. Other dishes are very delicous too. Not a fancy place, but fair price.
The people who work there are trusworthy as far as I know. I once left my watch there, and few days later they still had it, and gave it back to me.

I’ve come here multiple times throughout years and the food is always super delicious and filling. We both had the vegetable soup. I had the falafel pita, pita was very fresh and my husband had the beef kabob. Both enjoyed them.
The service was great, and reasonable prices. I will definitely come back again!

This place is my favorite place. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant.everytime I want to go to a fair meal, this place comes straightaway to my head. Great and food and a large menu.generous staff, and good ambience. Not less important, the pay is fair. I tell about this place with no hesitation.

We bought shawarma last night to go was very dry and old, I think because the owner was there and he charged me extra never go back watch out from that Resturant.

Sometimes it's crowded, it's usually good.sometimes it's not so good. Depending on what you get.

Not bad food i was expecting more of what i have heard, over all it affordable and food taste good but its very hot.

Place is very nice, clean and the decor is great. The food the so delicious and the staff is extra friendly! Have to thank my friend for showing me this place! Great pricing!

My quest for good food took me to Al Azayem in El Cajon, this particular Iftar evening. I would call the restaurant a quintessential Iraqi food establishment. You can order kebabs, shawarma, dolma, falafel, etc. There are an array of salads ranging from mayonnaise to eggplant to olive to fattoush and Iraqi, plus several more. I chose the Lamb shank entre, it came with rice and lentil soup. A colorful salad consisting of cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, and yellow cabbage prefaced the main course. To my surprise, the tea I requested with the order was gratis.

The portions were abundant. The Lamb was tasty and dripping from the bone… The rice with vermicelli was delicious. The pricing was extremely reasonable and there was more than enough food for me to take home and reward the neighbor’s dog with a hefty lamb bone when I was finally finished with the excess. My visit to Al Azayem provided for a very pleasant culinary experience!

Good prices and authentic middle eastern food! I only order the chicken shawarma sandwich buy they have much more to choose from.

Food is not delicious at all.better halal restaurants are available such as Zarzour restaurant.

Excellent middle eastern food. Casual but busy. Huge portions. Better have an appetite before going to this unique place.

First time at this "Taste of Demascus" style food restaurant not that great. I gave two stars for cleanliness, rice and salad, but taste is something else. Price was over $15 for lamb that was dry and overcooked - tough to chew and lacking and seasoned like beef; the Basmati rice was good, prepared and tasted authentic. I ordered the meal to go and got a tasty salad with my order. When I sat down at my place to eat, no fork, no sauce, no napkins, meat was really dry. To go means, not at home or the restaurant which implies I have no utensils in my pocket. I have eaten Middle-Eastern food all my life and this is not great. It's just that there are less restaurants like it in this area, but the quality is lacking. I will not be returning for overpriced rice and salad.

Reem at the cashier has a really bad customer service skills, I almost left the restaurant because of her.

I am in love with this restaurant. I have been here many times for dinning in and take outs. I have never had a bad experience. I know it is really hard to find a clean and quality restaurant that continues to provide the quality food that everyone expects. I give this place an A+ rating on quality, service and most importantly taste. Mazin, the owner, always treats all customers like family.

This little hole-in-the-wall restaurant has excellent food at even better prices. Everything here is amazing I love the fact that I can come in and just order some of their naan bread at such a great price and it's fresh! Wait staff doesn't always speak the best English but the food more than makes up for it. I often frequent this place two to three times a week. I recommend the shawarma.

Very terrible staff and the food also bad, I ordered TO GO from them, it was 8: 45 Morning and the restaurant was empty only one table what they do a group of 5 persons came and eat inside then they shift my order (BECAUSE THEY EAT INSIDE AND I WAS WAITING IN FRONT OF CASHIER FOR MY TO GO) then I wait 40 minutes to get my food and I find it was bad they was rude and I strongly not suggesting this restaurant due clean-less and terrible service

It was my first time there, what incredible food, the service was off the hook, great atmosphere with friendly patrons.

We were referred to Al Azayem from few friends as "the best Iraqi restaurant" so we decided to give it a try. They have plenty of food choices to choose from which was good. We decided to try few things so we can get a feel on how does the food taste. We ordered Hummus fried Kibbeh and the platter for 3 people which has different kinds of meats. Long story short everything we ordered didn't taste good. The hummus tasted like it was made from cans. The Kibbeh was super greasy and didn't have any of the Kibbeh spices or nuts. They gave us 2 kinds of rice that didn't taste good at all.
Can't recommend it to anyone who loves their food.
