Aliso Viejo Ice Palace reviews
16Very nice staff.they’re skating aids for kids that are five and under. I started ice-skating a year ago and now I’m professional thanks to my classes certain way to skate just for beginners so they don’t bump into anybody I highly recommend.
Experience was horrible and the woman working was really rude … I took my daughter to ice skate for her first time. She was so excited, asked if my daughter could use a ice skating bar and they said they’re only for kids 5 and under. They had them stacked to the ceiling with the ring being completely empty (5 people in the ring) and would still not let my daughter use one so we left. It made my daughter so sad that because she was over 5 she couldn’t feel safe trying something new. It should be okay for any age if the person isn’t comfortable skating without one. Definitely won’t come back
Took a 6 and 8 years old to experience the ice for first time.
If you are not a iceskater DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME /MONEY in going to this place.
No handrails!
No guidance!
NO NICE ENVIRONMENT FOR BEGINNERS!
Never coming back!
Payed to put the blades on and take it out.
Less than 2 minutes.
We arrived at 1: 30p to ice skate. They are closing early, but still made us pay $80 for 4 kids to skate for less than a hour. Not cool.
Took my granddaughter to go skating. Wouldn't allow my service dog to go in. Staff's attitude was insulting.
Best rink in town! Also the only rink in town. Place is about as run down as it gets but somehow keeps the ice cold enough to skate on. Place could use some serious overhauling as it feels like it could have into the Earth at any moment.
Ice palace used to be a fantastic place for kids to learn figure skates. My daughter has been going there for many years but lately they have changed their policies so much and also they have almost doubled the prices. Unfortunately whenever you call it is only answering machines and they are not very helpful at the front desk. I think they want to focus more on hockey and they don’t mind if they loose figure skating kids. Looks like more people are moving or quitting like us since this place is not busy as it used to be.
Looks like they are updating the place slowly. But don't let that stop you. When on a Saturday public skate and it's way less crowded that GPI. Which my kids can actually practice.
I've been here a few times and it was so much fun! I definitely recommend going there to ice skate.
This place is fantastic for everyone. There is plenty of space on the ice as well as for those who aren't actually partaking. It makes for the perfect venue for a family and groups of people of all ages. Don't forget to bring warmer gear though as it does get cold (obviously). The skates themselves are hit and miss but generally decent enough for most people. Discerarning people can bring their own!
Rink was filled with people, and little kids bump into you frequently. I would recommend going at night if you want to avoid the crowd. Skates and ice surface was rough and not maintained properly.
Went with some friends last night and had a really fun time! The skates were mediocre and some were damaged, but that's pretty expected since they get so much use.
Here the deal. The staff is great! Pricing is the best in the area. The facility is run down. Ice is really bad. Pretty much as bad as it gets. Can't see the lines or crease in the ice. 3 locker rooms downstairs and 3 upstairs so you might have to haul your gear up and down.
Ice palace needs a lot of improvements restrooms needs some serious cleaning up grading. The score keepers box needs to be to be upgraded and cleaned up and a better flooring and seating for the score keepers. I feel like this place is very unsafe.
This rink has been recently sold. Not the same place anymore. Walked in and paid $16.00 cash for a Public Session. Took a couple laps and realized I should not be out there. The day before I twisted my ankle running. Got off the ice. Explained my situation to the Manager and asked for a refund. I was on the ice for 4 minutes? I was told NO. Really?
Super fun! Excellent owner. Rental skates were ok. Ice was good, full of hockey players and training figure skaters. We rented a walker trainer thing. I recommend reading on the internet how to skate before trying it. It helped to know how to skate before going, at least the basics.
