Allied Arts Guild reviews
22This place is beautiful and has some great artisan shops. Perfect for l breaks during long medical days at Stanford. Check it out
There’s so many lovely shops with fine jewelry, leather work, pottery, stationary, consignment vintage housewares, gifts, cute socks, beautiful bed linens made from Indian Saris. A great place to take advantage of local shopping and supporting artisans rather than corporate greed. Profits support Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital.
A great quiet spot to walk around and visit shops with items made by craftsman. I had lunch in the Wisteria restaurant, nice but a little pricey.
The first time that I was brought to Cafe Wisteria for lunch I recall being very impressed with meticulously manicured grounds bursting forth from this kind of secret garden hidden in a sleepy residential neighborhood along side the creek which runs parallel to Sand Hill road. It's a quick getaway without traveling far off the beaten path. It's grounds are filled with a variety of flowering plants that they've somehow orchestrated with the seasons so that there are always flowers blooming from under foot, climbing the walls and dangling overhead. (though spring and summer have the most). It's refreshing to slow down from a busy day and just enjoy chrisp air filled with the pleasent melody of birds singing and the bees hard at work. If your having lunch, I recommend asking to be seated outside on sunny days. If available, the tables which line the edge of the cobble fountain, shaded by a gnarled and knotted giant Oak are my favorite. The Café menu rotates seasonally & I'm told is geared towards utilizing local & fresh ingredients as much as possible. The Dungeness crab eggs Benedict is rich and creamy with fantastic texture and balance. I'm also a fan of the french dip sliders on mini toasted brioche, filled with tender slow-cooked brisket and served with a Tangy Au Jus.delicious!
A hidden gem. I have been living in the area for 10 years, and I just discovered this place. Absolutely lovely for lunch or a stroll.
Hidden Little Gem Tucked Away in The Cutest Neighborhood in Menlo Park, With Lots of Cute Places to Roam. I often like to walk the grounds & enjoy the gardens, artwork & shops. It’s a great place for weddings, business ventures or just to enjoy a cup of coffee. Haven’t eaten at the restaurant but I’m sure it’s amazing.
This is a group of artists in a park like setting that sell there wares. This in a somewhat hidden part of Menlo Park. There is a good restaurant there. The grounds are nicely landscaped. The barn has a furniture repair shop, and they do refinishing. A good place to spend an hour or two.
I love bringing out of town guests here, to admire this oasis with its gorgeous architecture, tranquil gardens, and amazing galleries.
I didn't even want to go, but I'm glad I did. So many great photo opportunities, but here are my favs!
Escape the city in the wonderful gardens well cared for by knowledgeable staff. A great cafe on premise makes for a pleasant outing.
Great place for lunch and to buy art, paintings, clothing, etc. All sales benefit the Lucille Packard Children's Hospital.
Cute place. Looks like an old house that was converted, but apparently they built it to look that way specifically for this center. A lot of cute shops. We stepped in to look at things when we were there, but we were at the center to attend a friend's wedding. I don't know what it is like on a regular day, but there didn't seem to be a lot of people there that weren't attending the wedding. I'm not sure if it's busy on a regular basis or not. I'm not sure we would go back as we don't normally visit places like this, but it was very nice and pretty.
A shadow of its former self. Café pleasant, and food/service are about average. I think it is relying on events. The entire venue has changed beyond recognition. Shops have closed or moved away. Christmas is no longer a major event. Sad.
It's too bad that this place isn't what it used to be where there were artist showing their crafts that were beautiful and not overpriced now most of the artists have gone and all that's left is cheap things to sell. The restaurant was uneventful as it wasn't a pass it was great. But it seemed the waitress had other things to do rather than wait on the people in the dining room.
The Allied Arts Center is absolutely remarkable example of the value of skilled trades. In particular, the florists at Urban Botanica are absolutely amazing and gifted in the beautiful aesthetic they provide with the highest end plant products available in the Bay Area.
Friendly local artists. Nice for walking around on the weekends. Pretty courtyards and gardens. Tucked away in Menlo. Also a great little cafe for lunch.
I deliver for Urban Botanica located in the Allied Arts Guild. They create the most beautiful bouquets I have ever seen! The staff is fabulous!
Enjoy spending a few hours here when I visit the South Bay. Lovely neighborhood to walk around. The Rose garden is beautiful and fountains offer a quiet place for meditation. The Portola Art Gallery is fun to look around.
One amazing place! Great little shops of local artists, amazing food, and great outdoor places to walk and breathe the fresh air. The gardens are amazing!
Beautiful garden and some interesting little artisan shops and workshops. Also hosts Music Together Menlo Park, which I highly reccoment.
