Hotel Aloft Sunnyvale reviews
18 My company booked this hotel for me and my experience here was pretty bad. The rooms are tiny, pricy, and most important is very noisy!
I’m not sure it’s their hallways air con.outside the room was malfunctioning or always just like this, but it’s not just loud I can even feel the floor vibrating because of it. I asked to change room or even change to other floors, but not much difference.
I can feel the whole building is shaking, especially during the nighttime. The only good thing was the location, but it’s no way to over to have a good night sleep.
If you, unfortunately, have to stay here, here is my suggestion. Ask a room number less than 214/314/414 no matter which floor or will be too close to the the loudly hallways air con.
I don’t get it. Lucy and the staff were awesome, but that’s about all that was awesome. First off, the physical size of the property is tiny. Looks cool in the pics, but hotel is super small. The elevator was slower than molasses. 15 seconds to move up one floor. You’d think you were cursing the heights of Trump Tower or something. Nope. One floor. The hallways were about 36” wide. My home has wider hallways. Lucy upgrade my room to a bigger room. It was 10x13. That’s it! My kids bedroom is bigger than this! Like I said, I don’t get it. Felt super claustrophobic. Parking sucked. Tiny lot. Very close to Murphy Ave though. Maybe you like living this way, but not me, I don’t get it.
The hotel itself was okay. The room was small. Shower had great heat and water pressure, but in general lacking in overall amenities. Gym was underwhelming.
All that being said, I enjoyed my time at the Aloft. The location was great, but Sam, the Bartender made all the difference. He made great drinks and was good company. Some of the best Tom Collin's I have ever had.
Thanks Sam.
The location was great, and everyone was friendly. However, the rooms were so incredibly tiny, you could hear absolutely everything around you, and there was not even a mini refrigerator. When I say you could hear everything around you, I mean people outside, someone cough in the next room, doors shutting in the hallway, people laughing.literally everything.
Overall nice clean rooms, although both of our rooms had leaky showers that would spill into the bathroom floor. Poor design.
The suite room is okay.
Not much space, but okay or 2 people to just for sleep.
AC in the room is super noisy and water pressure is small.need to spend some time to find parking space and the parking lot didn't let me feel safe enough.
Soundproof is bad.
The room was nice, and the location is great However, the walls are paper thin — you hear everything from the adjoining rooms and from the hallway. I was woken up repeatedly at night because of doors being slammed and because of people talking as they came home to their rooms. The constant loud humming from the ice machine down the hall also didn't help.
I stayed at the Aloft Sunnyvale for a short business trip, and the staff was so accommodating with package deliveries, laundry, and assisting me with anything I required. Rooms are tastefully designed, clean, and staff is so kind.
Clean and modern rooms. Friendly staff. Central location in Sunnyvale with lots of food options nearby.
The room and bed sheets were very dirty (dirt, hair, stains, and dead spider) and not changed upon arrival. We had to go down to front desk to get sheets and a new comforter. They didn't even give new pillow cases so we had to cover them with a sheet. We had to strip the dirty bed and make the bed ourselves without gloves.basically being housekeeping. We asked the guy if we could get someone to take care of it but he said he was the only one there. The dirty sheets and comforter stayed in our room all night and took up what little space we had. ALSO there was DIRTY UNDERWEAR! Stained boxers hanging out from under the mattress! We didn't even want to shower here because we were so grossed out, so we just left. The ac was so loud, windows, and walls were very thin, paid extra for a bigger room that was tiny and smaller then the pictures looked. They said they couldn't refund us anything because we booked through Expedia. I've never experienced anything like this and have happily vacationedbin nice hotels for several years.
Hotel needs renovations, narrow hallways feel give “the shining feeling”. Elevator very slow. Staff is friendly.
Just okay. The room was very small and smelled funny. Not very good soundproofing. Staff was friendly but overall lacking in some standard hotel "amenities" like a pool, room service, etc.
Location though is amazing, so much is within walking distance. Cafes, restaurants, grocery stores, target, a variety of parks. That is what might get me to stay there again.
Just ok. Room was clean. Water pressure was abysmal. Bed was below average comfort. Staff was nice. Location is great. Free parking with pass. A bit noisy. A lot of scented cleaning products used. I had expected a bit better.
This is a rebrand: An older property spruced up with a quick coat of paint.
The hotel has no car park, so you need to use the adjacent public lot, and when Murphy Ave is busy the car park fills up and you have to park somewhere else.
I stayed here for a whole week and nobody serviced my room.
It’s comfortable enough, but also small enough to feel confined.
Next time I’ll pick one of the newer Sunnyvale hotels instead.
I'm sure it would have been a cooler experience if I came here on a personal trip.
Rooms were kind of small.
My room had a bit of a gnat situation.
It's a walkable location, so I was happy about that.
Clean neat hotel, but the rooms are too small, hot, and windows don’t open. Will try to avoid next time.
Bad service and AC not working:
1) the AC in the room was not cooling (inside temperature was around 78 F). I asked for this to be fixed and was told the technician was not available and they couldn't change my room
2) I called Aloft to determine if I could perform an early check in for my reservation, I was told I could only inquire about this in person
3) I called to extend my reservation and was told I could inquire about this in person
I stayed in the hotel 10 days. My experience of stay is pretty negativ. When we arrived reception desk was empty. We were waiting for long till we found receptionist lady drinking in the bar. Rooms are very small, windows pointing other building or hotel entrance. I was on the third floor and not receiving sunlight, I asked for possibility to change the room and been told that all rooms like that. At the evening music from entrance way is very annoying as you hear it in the room. On Wednesday they had free wine and music was load after 10pm so I needed to call and ask to switch it off to be able to relax. Room was not cleaned twice when I asked it to be cleaned. They put all set for shower only once, later on other days I received only shampoo… no shower gel no lotion etc.when I called receptionist ask me to come down to pick it up, wich is not customer friendly… Wi-fi was very annoying as I needed to log in everyday, it doesn’t know that you staying for 10 days. While doing check out no one even bothered to ask if I like the stay:)
