Alta Bakery and Cafe reviews
17Good coffee, tasty pastries, many choices and great atmosphere. Simple. If you like life, eat food and drink coffee you won’t be disappointed here.
Beautiful pastries and sandwiches.
Challah was perfect. Staff are helpful, and efficient. Try this place. You’ll love it.
Great cafe and great ambience. Very popular especially with the locals. Recommended:) Espresso Tonic
Overpriced. 5 dollars for a croissant is insane! I use to like this place. Prices were reasonable (3.75 for a croissant and 4 dollars for a latte) but within the last two years this owner (who I hear is already wealthy) has gotten really greedy. Workers always look annoyed and unhappy.
Arrived late afternoon for a snack. Lots of choice but we both chose the Coconut soup with a slice of Sourdough and a coffee each.
Sat outside in the patio area which was clean and spacious. The here was a wedding taking place nearby so that added to the atmosphere. Soup was amazing. Whilst enjoying by our drinks we watched Hummingbirds. It was a wonderful experience
The vibe, the pastries, the coffee, the location all of it was perfect. This place was recommended by a friend who is local and I appreciate her for sharing this spot. The outdoor sitting area made me feel like I was in Mexico. Such a great place and deserves so much more than 5 stars.
It was a fantastic experience!
My family and I ordered some magnificent cinamon blooms, they were delicious, we accompanied them with an incredible macha latte! The location was very welcoming: a garden full of flowers and tables where you can enjoy your meal. The clerks were very kind and the only flaw was the absence of Wi-Fi available to customers.
I absolutely recommend it!
Cute bakery with delicious baked good and a great atmosphere.
Come for the food, stay for the ambiance. We came on a Saturday morning and had about a 20 minute wait to get to the front. We got inside right around 11am so they were changing over to the lunch menu. We ordered a few items for here and a few to go.
The staff is very busy and they try to be as friendly as possible while still trying to move the line along. There's a fine balance. I never felt rushed.
Here's what we ordered
1. Reuben Croissant - pastrami and sauerkraut inside of a croissant with cheese on top. They heat it up for you if you eat it there. Nothing was overpowering so you could taste everything with every bite. A perfect sandwich to share!
2. Morning bun - probably one of the better morning buns I've had. There are some sort of brown sugar crumbles sprinkled and baked on top and the strawberry jam was excellent!
3. Blue corn cookie - Almost a fusion of a sugar cookie and cornbread. A unique flavor with that little crunch you get with really good cornbread. I highly recommend if you're wanting to try something you can't get anywhere else.
Lastly there is a to of seating both inside and out. I recommend sitting outside if it's a nice day. It almost feels like you've been transported to Europe.
Go check it out! You won't be disappointed.
Ordered hot house tea n hot cappuccino which were served as cold as they could be. Croissant n almond orange cake were below average. Very disappointed.
Great food and drinks, nice atmosphere. But not a coffee shop that offers wifi or charging outlets. Big long communal tables in the back & an extensive patio/garden area. So just keep that in mind if you plan want to study on a device there.
Cookies:
One of the best cookies chocolate cookie / sweet from honey, crispy outside, super moist inside
Brownies:
moist and so chocolaty
Croissants:
Standard (ps.not a fan of chocolate croissants)
This is a great place for lunch or coffee, take time to come in, sit down and enjoy the desserts, coffee, tea or food. Great service and atmosphere. When I'm Monterey I always drop by. Site on the outside area to experience the dry garden area.
My husband and I love this place! The staff are so nice and the baked goods are as delicious as they look. We split the kale and olive pizza, which was crisp and fresh. Just the right amount of cheese and toppings. We finished with the chocolate hazelnut mousse which just melts in your mouth and is a great small treat to finish off your meal. The courtyard is beautiful and filled with succulents and plenty of cozy spots to relax and enjoy. We will definitely be back.
Nice place, long lines at peak hours. Really nice garden right behind the place where you can sit and enjoy the flowers.
Argh
The flow of service is not efficient
Making the wait too long
You have to order from multiple people
And pay a different person
The baked goods are delicious
The savory are fine. The menu is limited
But the French fries do not miss out on, although they are pricy at $16
Make sure. To sit outside in the garden the vibe is the best thing
I had a large group here for a birthday gathering on a food walk and absolutely loved it! Hospitality, A+, quality, A+ location, A+ Love it!
I loved coming here. I ordered the seasonal watermelon matcha and it was amazing. The matcha was so smooth and I could tell the watermelon juice was homemade. I also had one of their cookies which was delicious. Only complaint is that they don’t have prices anywhere, as everything is quite expensive.
