I had a very bad experience at this community, as a guest of a resident I went into the clubhouse and immediately was stared down on and felt uncomfortable by the looks I was receiving. I tried to dismiss it, but finally I was approached by someone who I can only assume was a resident, wanting to know who I was with, my name and how many people were in my party. I tried to respond to the questions but felt like I was being interrogated, they demanded to know more things about my person making it very uncomfortable for me. I’m Mexican and the reason why that matters is because I have never been treated this way anywhere. I’m educated, well spoken and none of that mattered because I was being judged solely on the color of my skin. I was a guest of a resident there but my answers weren’t good enough. I left because everyone was staring at me and it made and it made me uncomfortable. Places like this shouldn’t exist, it’s almost like you can’t visit relatives or friends if your skin isn’t white. All the are missing is the “whites only” sign at the gate, because once you’re there… the entire community harasses you until you leave. The worse experience of my life visiting this place.

Was dog sitting for my best friend one day and he said I would be able to go check out the nice pool they have to offer, so I took his advice and decided to go for a swim that afternoon, I kept feeling unwanted by the residents their at the club house, just asking where I lived, who I knew, what street I lived on and then kept hearing some small talk under their voices about Hispanics around the area that shouldn't live here and they just need to stay where they came from, I felt so unwelcomed like I did something wrong, like was it directed towards me? I was even questioning myself as well thinking, "ok am I not allowed in here, what's the problem, just trying to enjoy the water? It totally dampened the mood for me and I just felt like saying something as well but being the bigger person I just left.

I wish I could give it 0 stars. I’m only leaving 1 so I can write this review. This place is gated and requires remote access. You’re only there is you’re permitted to be there, but the residents seem to think otherwise. I was interrogated and was left feeling very demeaned by their need to stop me in the first place. It took me a while to realize it was because I was Mexican. They weren’t being friendly at all just obviously and aggressively racist.

This is the worst place to live the HOA and alot of residents here are racist. If you are not white do not move here. Also if you have more than 5 family members don't take them to the club house because they will call the police even if they're children. The Hoa board member even called our grandchildren racial slurs. Beware of this place.

As I drove thru Altis to see the model homes, I was approached several times by some Caucasian residents walking in the neighborhood that they never seen my car or myself there at Altis and I did not belong there. I stated I was looking into purchasing a home and immediately a woman said “I hope you don’t bring your grandchildren here “ your kind (Mexican) can be some what loud “. I then asked the woman, you don’t like Mexican kids? She said the Altis likes to have Caucasian residents, this is not a place for your kind or Black people. I then told the lady, shut her mouth and keep walking. I DEFINITELY NOT BUYING A HOME THERE. They are prejudiced elderly there at Altis. Do Not Buy a House there, and I was told they raised the HOA and made ridiculous rules for their clubhouse and pool area.
