Perfect place to have a steak in Santa Monica. Regarding the atmosphere the pictures speak for themselves.

I can't say enough great things about the food, service, and overall vibe of this place. It's my favorite restaurant in LA.

Great food; house wine was amazing.

Food was insanely tasty. Highly recommend. Ambience during day time is not as nice as in the evenings.

Oh, I went to Venice Beach and Santa Monica Beach, and it's a restaurant that I walked to nearby. There are only foreigners and it is very big and the atmosphere is the best! The real staff are so kind, and I ate the meat for $59, but it was a bit small, but it was so delicious! Especially potatoes! First one in the picture! It's really so delicious! I also ate wine, but the menu says $16, so it's too cheap? But when I looked at the bill, it was about 60 dollars. But I ate very well.

Food was fine. My son had the Strip. Very good. My hanger streak was way overcooked. Asked for medium; Got tough.
Didn't say anything because my waiter never came to ask how it was. We got ghosted by our waiter, but the hostess and bussers were great that we flagged down.
Bill came and it had one amount. When I went to swipe my card, it was $30 more. I inquired; he said it was the desert he didn't add before printing. Thought it was high, but swiped my card.
Got the receipt and noticed two entries (drinks) I didn't order. Brought to waiter's attention and he got defensive. Waiter removed two drinks, but kept tip the same. Got manager involved. She was very nice.
Comped the desert. But the kicker was that she didn't remove the tip for me to redo. She kept it at 20%.
By this time, I'm done. 20 min later, I left.
I'm in disbelief. Was supposed to be a fun night with son.
Won't be back.
UPDATE: manager comped my drinks as well. Moving on.

Food is good. The labneh and flatbread is amazing. The service is pretty good but they get things confused often.

Such a vibe, amazing food, can't stop thinking about the Brentwood Corn and that creme fraiche. They sure were in a. Hurry to bus out plates though. Seems like a very popular place though so I'm sure they needed the table. Had the best time, will be back soon!

Amazing place. Great food, lovely people, nice atmosphere. Definitely worth your time. Flatbread is just next level good.

Can't say enough about this experience. Excellent selection on the menu. Aged steaks are amazing.

The food at American Beauty was good, especially the hash brown. But a restaurant doesn’t deserve more than 2 stars if they take part in the growing “service fee” racket. If you want to charge your customers 3% more, just add 3% to your menu prices. If you think people won’t come when you include the full price on the menu, then you’re just admitting your comfort with misleading your customers. I will actively avoid any restaurants that do this shady stuff.

The setting is quite lively with loud music but you’re outside and the speakers aren’t on top of you so it’s still great for conversation.

I don’t know what to say about the service. We came at prime time on a Tuesday night and the hostess tried to seat us at a remote two top. I asked for a four top and she was like “yeah of course it’s not going to fill up”. So why not just start at a table that’s large enough for a proper meal? In fact, why have cocktail sized tables at a restaurant that encourages family style dining?

Our drinks took a bit longer than 20 minutes - I suspect our server was new because he also took 10 minutes to bring us our ticket - he charged ours to the wrong table. This would be incredibly annoying if he wasn’t delightful, ever-smiling, and clearly in love with the menu. I’d say the drinks were worth the wait because they were exceptionally good, but no drink is worth that wait for me.

My filet was very salty and they missed the mark on the temperature, but it was good enough. I would eat there again but I’m not sure what I’d order. The herb salad was divine.

Ribs were very good and the stuffed hash browns are what dreams are made of. The carrots were fantastic too.

Our dinner was just shy of two hours long and we didn’t order any appetizers, so we skipped dessert.

I also would love to have a nice crusty bread whenever there’s steak in the menu. Maybe I’ll smuggle in a hunk of baguette from Breadbar and try a different cut of meat.they’ll never know…

It is so close to perfect here. I think we had an off night. I’ll try again.

Great atmosphere, really really good food, and professionally staff. Couldn’t ask for anything better! I ordered the Muy Bona cocktail and loved it - a must try!

By far the best restaurant we've been to in the Venice area. All the food was amazing, from appetizers to desserts. Great vibe and service as well. I can't recommend it enough!

American Beauty first caught my eye at the start of the Pandemic. At that time, Win-Dow was all rhat was available, and it was one of my favorite burger grabs.
The meat at American Beauty is unquestionably outstanding. A remarkable cut offered at American Beauty is the Teres Major. This hunk of beef is a true prize, and it makes the uncomfortable annual outdoor seating worth putting up with.
The sides are off balance, and can use some refinement. The cauliflower has an obnoxious amount of coriander. The chop salad is uniquely spicy, and the Hash browns are robustly awkward in its size and manner.
The service is caring and friendly. One server that stands out to us is Stacey. He is always warm and frequently checks in on us. He understands the menu, the chef’s preferences, and never misses the beat with any alternations to the order.
American Beauty makes some off-beat choices and takes a few chances to be distinguished from other traditional steakhouses. While creativity deserves credit, there is plenty of space for progress.
One final note, the bar is beautiful, and it would be advisable to trail that beauty into the indoor dining room. The indoor dining area has progressed over the year, but still has a slight eerie feeling of the covid takeout days. The outdoor seating is where the majority of the tables are with a western themed ambiance. Great for SoCal especially on summer nights, but the past year has been chilly and we haven’t been able to capitalize on the space as much as we’d like to.

Excellent cocktails, beautiful cooking and flavor of the meat. Downside on the accompaniments, bland, simple and small quantity. The asparagus would have benefited from a few strips of parmesan and a little olive oil. The fries are the same as at McDonald's. Unequal welcome and service. Tip minimum 20% abused.
