A sports bar/restaurant concept, I didn't go on a games day, but I would expect the crowd to be really good on games day. I gave 3 stars mainly for the poor service and average food. My server needed to be reminded 3-4 times just to fetch a lime for the corona. One moment she said all the chicken stuff were sold out, the next moment she suddenly said she remembered that the manager said chicken tenders were resupplied. Its not like she is super busy, in fact she was chatting away with the other staff. Food was not too bad, what you would expect from sports bar.

Shout out to Dave and Blake. It's dope to still leave them there after the switch in staff. Everyone is cool. But honestly, it wouldn't be the same without them. If I don't see them at the door, im not coming in lol

Very reluctant to allow foreign travellers in. I showed a valid UK driving licence on the door, which was accepted everywhere else in San Diego and fulfills the legal requirement for ID, but they insisted on seeing a full passport to allow me in. Eventually I kicked up enough of a fuss that they relented but said that next time I should bring my passport with me. I think next time I'll just go somewhere else actually.

Edit: Having seen their reply, it seems laughable that they stipulate foreign people must have IDs because they've had foreign fake IDs. Have they never had US fake IDs shown there? I find that hard to believe. Just felt like they're putting another barrier to foreign travellers up, if you're travelling to another country a passport is the most precious thing you have and I've not met many people who want to carry it with them and risk losing it during a night on the town. Again, I'd recommend foreign travellers go elsewhere to somewhere they're welcomed the same as US tourists.

Shots and margaritas are marketed as $6/$8 and I was charged $15 for a tequila soda. Not sure how that adds up.

First timers and we loved it. There are vip sections and because we arrived so late we were able to sit in the vip side and dance above the seats. Again super new and was confused that was allowed. We had a lot of fun dancing there rather than on the dance floor. Music was fun

Why is it that people's phones are always being stolen at this place? I was here last night and got my phone taken right out of my purse! I've had other friends go here and also got their phones and wallet stolen 2 months ago! I'll literally never go here again.

I had so much fun in american junkie! The nights starts like a normal bar and becomes a party with DJ. I love this bar!
Also, on Thursdays it's all drafts and 1 slice of pizza for 1 dollar until 10 PM!

The hubby and I decided a Thursday was due! Would of had 5 stars… but the booth we sat had a broken side, took a min to figure out who was the server was! HOWEVER after that it was a great experience! JAYDEN-she was super sweet and gave great service! The security was cool and chill! The drinks were good prices avg. $6-8 for beers and on Thursdays! $1 drafts and $1 pizza slices from 9p-10p. I didn’t have pizza, but I did have! Pretzel, mozzarella sticks and nachos and all three were bomb! Plus i saw the workers walking out with food! That’s always a good sign! Overall great time! Def go back! Music was good too!

Reasonably priced food and happy hour offerings. We had the carne asada fries and loaded tots the other day and both were ok. I thought the tots were a bit small portion wise and they were swimming in whatever the sauce is. Carne asada fries were a better portion size and were good but a bit salty. I’ve also been for taco Tuesday and you definitely can’t beat the deal. Good drink prices. America Junkie is perfect for what it is - a fun atmosphere to eat and drink cheap but it’s not the height of gastronomy.

Atmosphere was great, drinks and pizza was awesome! Staff made you feel like you were in you hometown bar.

This place was awesome! $5 bottomless tacos on Tuesdays cannot be beaten, and some great service all around. Fun audience interactions with the beer pong tournaments, too! Spent a good few hours there eating and dancing. Will definitely return.

Food was terrible.college football day but only 2 different games on multiple tvs with music blaring.
