American Offroad reviews
12Took my Jeep there they replaced my gearbox tire rod, etc. They failed to perform a wheel alignment which cost me more money. My warranty was voided as well due to the poor work these guys performed. Not honest people I would not recommend this shop. All of my Jeep families who are in Bakersfield avoid this shop. …….
Kind, generous, local, trustworthy. Thank you for taking care of Jacob @Dad'sGoneLive
Asked to write review by Dads Gone Live (Jacob) on YouTube. Best thing ever since sliced bread. Having never been to California in my life. I think your business is the best that has ever existed. Keep up the good work. If you ever make it to Tennessee, I will look you up.
THANK YOU AMERICAN OFFROAD for helping our friend Jacob at Dads Gone Live Media to get his Jeep back on the road! You people are awesome! Thank you for helping our friend!
I love these people, so reasonable and honest. I’ll never take my Jeep anywhere else. Seriously this is a gem….
I hate to leave a bad review, I really like these people. It's a family business they have done good things. Sadly They made giant mistakes that caused me so much heartbreak. Incorrect tire pressure for my M. T. 35 inch all terrain it caused un even wear. Installed a bracket with the spacers on backwards, that damaged the paint.kept all my old parts so now i have to buy new. Didn't know what transmission was in my jk and caused all kinds of trouble. Sold me a computer but didn't do the programming correctly. Gave me bad information about gearing. I told them what was up, then I called gave them a chance to make it right. They would but for more money.
I'll say it again these are good people, the kind of folks you want to invite to a BBQ. For someone like me that doesn't know anything about the off-road world and on my first jeep, it cost me many nights sleep. I'm still fixing stuff.
An awesome business! Above and beyond! On behalf of DadsGoneLive I wanna give a shout-out to these great people.
We have a 2021 Rubicon, we tow behind our motorhome. They have been very friendly, informative, and helpful with getting us prepared to use it as our toad. They also have a small 4 x 4 club to go wheeling with. Everybody is very friendly inside the shop. Will definitely keep coming back.
Bring your Jeep or off road vehicle here and you won’t be disappointed by the service or communication from the owners. I have had them fit me into their schedule at last minute for mounting new tires on beadlocks, when they were already busy. They have installed new gears and kept me updated on the work. I am a happy customer and highly recommend this family owned business.
These guys are amazing as today Dad’s Gone Live was on his way to buy food for the homeless and he had a brake line break and they gave him an excellent deal on the brake line, and also let him borrow their tools to fix it! They also gave him a free T-shirt because he had brake fluid all over his shirt! Thank you guys, so much as Jacob is such an inspiration to us all!
I'm actually in Australia but giving you this rating on behalf of Dad's Gone Live, thank you for taking care of Jacob.
Please follow him, he does an awesome job.
Man, did they see me coming. I'm currently on disability from work awaiting a hip replacement. Uhaul was originally going to hook up my lift to a 12 volt source and ground for $85, but they kept delaying me for hours while waiting. I called the boss at American from a referral, and she said they could fit me in sooner. They charged me $286 to hook up a 12v power wire and ground for my power chair lift for a job that should have taken 20 minutes. Hell, I could have had a whole new hitch installed for that. There was available power in the back of my pickup bed 2 feet away from my hitch and lift harness, yet they chose to run a new wire all the way from the battery to the back of my truck. When I went to pick it up, the tech said it took him an hour. They billed me for almost 2 hours at $150 an hour. To top it off, they finished at the same time Uhaul was supposed to. She said, "We aren't a large corporation and bill for our time. " She said, "Once you are an American Off-road customer, you a customer you are one for life and they back up their work. " Fat chance that I'm going back or anybody else I know. Shame on me for not waiting Uhaul out.
